Prologue
Games are culture, but they are a disease.
"Jungler, why isn't the gank coming?!"
"Top diff GG."
Veins bulging as the inhabitants of this other world slammed their hands on their crystal orbs and screamed.
There were no computers here, but the crystal orbs filled that role perfectly. And countless people indulged in this vicious pastime.
Pointy-eared tree-huggers who went into hysterics at the sight of a single spark in the forest. Dwarf shitstains who itched to hack the legs off anyone bigger than an orc barrel. Oversized lizards too pathetic to spit fire, let alone speak Draconic. Orcs who once tore up books on sight, now fumbling at their crystal orbs like illiterates pounding keys. Humans, those mongrel factories of every race under the sun.
All of them suffering equally under the banner of "games."
"Developer-nim!"
The scream erupted from the final teamfight clash in a promotion match.
Gazing down from the admin space through the monitors, I could see them all howling my name into thin air at the top of their lungs.
"Nerf that hero, please!"
…Yeah, it looked like I'd unleashed the most toxic plague this other world had ever seen.
