The Beginning of a New Life
"Hah... hah... How the hell did it come to this?"
It was all her fault. We were supposed to stay just friends... So why did it end up like this?
"Found you. Why do you keep running? Yuseong, you left me for another girl, didn't you? That means you cheated on me. And cheaters have to be punished, don't they?"
Smiling in a way that crawled under his skin, she was Kim Sea — Han Yuseong's childhood friend, with her short black hair and a face that had always been a little too gloomy for its own good.
"You dumped me and made that girl your girlfriend. Felt good, did it? Answer me!"
Watching Sea rage like this, I can't help but see the face she used to wear as a kid, back when she was always smiling...
"Sea, listen. We're just friends. Even if you say you like me, nothing's going to change. You're my precious friend — that's all."
"Right... You were always like that. Always saw me as a friend, never as a woman. Well then. It's over now."
With those final words, my consciousness began to fade. What... what did she do to me?
"Ah... oh my. So you died, just like that. How pitiful. Truly a shame."
When I came to, I found myself in what looked like a room of pure white — and a woman was sitting there.
"Hello there. I am Helena, the goddess who oversees Earth and the many dimensions beyond it. I imagine you have quite a few questions. Go ahead — ask away."
And so began his first meeting with the goddess.
