I Got a Girlfriend
There once was a total pushover of a guy.
Nothing special about him. The only skill he possessed was a pathetic little thing called After-school Tea Time. All it did was keep his party members in a calm, peaceful state of mind—a healing-type passive that offered zero help in actual combat.
Which was why they only ever used him as a porter.
Porter Jack.
Just Jack.
Nobody Jack.
Jack Slave.
A slave, just like the name said.
If you had to pin down Jack Slave’s defining trait… it would be that he was a hopeless simp.
The guy had a thing for pretty faces. And the three beauties he set his sights on at the Academy were Sylvia, Scarlet, and Christine. He volunteered as their porter and dragged the three of them into a party. Ever since the First Hero Johannes had saved the world, Academy parties had been modeled after the classic Hero Party setup out of pure admiration.
One Hero, one porter… and the rest of the members. That was the standard formation.
Jack, with no real abilities to speak of, was naturally the porter. Teo, the strongest student in the Academy, took the Hero role, while Sylvia, Scarlet, and Christine filled out the support combat slots.
Those five made up the most famous party in the entire Academy.
Having the strongest warrior, Teo, as their Hero already made them special. The three women, each a walking spectacle of beauty, drew plenty of attention on their own. But the most famous of them all was Jack.
Why? Because every single day, without fail, he confessed to those three women.
“Sylvia, I love you! Please accept my feelings!”
“I like you, Scarlet!”
“Won’t you be my girlfriend, Christine?”
And the women’s answers were always the same—firm and final.
No.
They rejected him every time, as if they’d made a pact.
“No.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Not interested.”
The endless cycle of confessions and rejections had become a local legend at the Academy.
People wondered why he never got kicked out, but most just figured he must be doing a decent enough job as their porter and left it at that.
Yeah… that was about the extent of it.
Everything I knew about Jack.
He was nothing more than a throwaway extra who showed up for a couple of pages in the novel I’d been reading. No reason to dig any deeper.
—Until the day I possessed him.
“Fuck.”
That was the first word out of my mouth after waking up as Jack.
Well, possession was already a done deal… and what I needed to do next was obvious.
“First thing’s first—quit the party. Then live quiet.”
I had zero intention of acting like the original Jack. Playing the simp and confessing to girls I didn’t even like? Hard pass.
So I announced I was leaving the party.
My party members asked why.
Was I cutting them off for good?
Did that mean I never wanted to see them again?
I gave them a half-assed answer.
“Yeah. I got a girlfriend.”
“So this is goodbye to you guys.”
“See ya.”
With that, I bolted from the party.
From now on I planned to live as a perfectly ordinary Academy extra—background character number one.
But then something weird started happening.
My former party members began obsessing over me.
