Failed Resistance, A Pathetic Filial Heart
The next morning. Inside the heavy air of the secret room, Carna lay with dull, sunken eyes fixed only on the ceiling. She kept replaying the hellish moments from the night before, followed by Edric’s sickeningly sweet comfort that had felt like nothing but a lie.
She had tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep a wink. Her mind spun so tightly it felt ready to burst at any second.
‘I’m crazy… Carna, you’ve really gone insane.’
Gripping the blanket until her knuckles turned white, Carna let out an endless silent scream inside her head. No matter how horrifying the President’s overwhelming hypnosis had been, no matter how crushing the despair, how could she possibly feel relief in the arms of Edric—the very bastard who had thrown her into this hell?
The pure, loving words he had whispered and the endlessly careful touch of his hands still seemed to cling to her skin. She shuddered with an incomprehensible confusion.
‘No, this is all that bastard’s scheme! So why… why can’t I push him away…!’
She was floundering in the swamp of self-loathing when it happened.
—Creeeeak.
The heavy door of the secret room opened with a groan, and someone stepped inside.
“Haa… haa… ugh, I feel like I’m going to die…”
The first thing they heard was Edric’s ragged panting, as if he might pass out at any moment. The person supporting him—with his arm draped over her shoulder and carrying him as lightly as a feather—was none other than his mother, Camilla.
By morning, Camilla had returned to her perfect image as Knight Commander. She had dragged Edric out at dawn for a murderous training session and was only now returning. It was hard to believe this was the same person who had been creaking like a broken machine and losing consciousness the night before.
‘That used to be my daily routine too…’
Until the day before she was remade into a doll, Carna herself would have been sweating through her mother’s morning training at this very hour. But now, under the control of her False Personality, her movements were strictly limited. Except for mealtimes and going to work, she could not take a single step outside this secret room. She was a prisoner.
“Oh, Carna. You’re awake?”
In the past, she would have woken her daughter as well and taken her to the training grounds. Yet the doll that her mother had become did not utter a single word about training to her imprisoned daughter.
While Carna felt a strange mix of pity and resentment at that fact, Camilla tossed the exhausted Edric onto the sofa and approached the bed.
Seeing her daughter clutching the blanket up to her chin with a complicated expression, Camilla smiled faintly and asked,
“What are you thinking about so hard? Your face is quite flushed this early in the morning.”
At those words, the tightly wound string of Carna’s reason snapped.
“It’s complicated! Last night was too awful… it was seriously the worst!”
Carna shot upright and shouted. Her face, recalling both her mother’s appearance that had plunged her into an abyss of despair and the depraved, confusing time that followed, burned bright red as if it might explode.
At her daughter’s violent reaction, Camilla did not look startled at all. Instead, she covered her mouth with one hand and let out an elegant laugh.
“Really? Hmm, that’s strange… When Mother woke up briefly at dawn, the two of you looked so sweet and tender that I thought you were having a wonderfully happy time. Was I wrong?”
“……What? M-Mother… you were awake?”
Carna’s entire body froze as if struck by lightning.
“Of course. Mother didn’t want to interrupt the sweet moment between our daughter and her future son-in-law, so I stayed as quiet as a dead mouse. I almost suffocated to death.”
“Uh… Mother!! You… you saw all of that…!”
“Hehe. Why, are you embarrassed? Hehe. Then let’s call it even for the embarrassing things Mother showed you with her young lover… and what happened with him. Alright, Carna?”
At Camilla’s playful, bomb-like declaration, Carna felt a dizzying vertigo.
“Don’t say such ridiculous things! How is that even? And what do you mean by young lover! Edric as your son-in-law? No way!!! Mother, please come to your senses! This is all because of that horrible hypnosis!”
Carna screamed in fury. And then… she froze solid as she realized too late that she had just spoken the word “hypnosis” to her mother.
The desperate need to correct her mother’s twisted perception, combined with the terror that she herself might fall completely, had broken the hypnotic prohibition.
The absolute shackles the President had implanted—the fact that an imperfect doll like her could not speak about hypnosis—had been miraculously lifted. A flash of hope lit up Carna’s eyes.
She leaped out of bed and grabbed her mother’s shoulders.
“M-Mother…! I can talk! The hypnosis… Edric’s training is breaking the hypnosis! So let’s run away! Let’s escape this hellish mansion and hide somewhere secret, just the two of us, where no one can control us with hypnosis. With your skill, Mother, we could live together at the edge of the Empire… Please, let’s run away together!”
Her tearful, desperate cry.
But even as she heard her daughter’s earnest plea, Camilla did not so much as raise an eyebrow. She only glanced at Edric, who lay panting on the sofa. Her expression remained cruelly calm and serene.
Instead of responding to her daughter’s desperate cry to run away, Camilla approached the collapsed, gasping Edric and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead with a towel.
Then, in a voice dripping with infinite tenderness and affection, she whispered,
“Hypnosis… Yes, it’s true that the current me may be a doll controlled by someone’s malicious hypnosis. Carna, Mother knew everything from the moment Edric took over the Count’s household… from the instant I was acquired, I knew exactly what was being done to my body and mind.”
“What…?!?!”
Carna’s mind went completely blank.
She knew? She had known from the beginning that she was fated to be violated like a beast under hypnosis—and that the mastermind behind it was this frail Edric?
Watching her daughter fall into perfect cognitive dissonance, barely able to breathe, Camilla gently stroked Edric’s cheek.
“Even so, Carna. Mother is so very happy right now. Far happier than when I lived as the noble Knight Commander Camilla of the past. In this pleasure of being loved while howling like a beast in my master’s arms… that rascal Edric has become a completely different person, and now he will marry you and become our family… Is there any greater peace than this?”
“……Lies. That’s a lie!!!”
Carna screamed. She believed with all her heart that those words should never have come from her mother’s mouth—that they were forced out by hypnosis.
But,
“To be honest, Mother wouldn’t mind living the rest of her life as Master’s faithful doll. Because even under his control, I can still live as family with you, Carna,”
Camilla smiled brightly and drove in a cruelly kind, innocent wedge.
“Mother is this happy. So our pretty daughter should hurry up and marry Edric, give Mother beautiful grandchildren, and we can all live happily together. Right?”
At that moment, Carna’s words caught in her throat.
The miserable image of her mother, forcibly remade by the President’s hypnosis and enduring humiliation, flashed through her mind for a second. Yet the eyes now looking at her and speaking of “grandchildren” contained not a trace of falsehood—only deep, genuine affection and devotion.
Violent brainwashing had seeped into everyday life and fused perfectly with her ego. Faced with the horrifying yet perfectly completed form of a finished doll, Carna could only shed thick, heavy tears.
Just as she herself had felt relief in Edric’s deceptive warmth last night, her mother had already found her own paradise in the arms of the devil who owned that doll.
Before that overwhelming and grotesque reality, Carna could no longer raise her voice in anger.
Clenching her fists and lowering her head, a bitter voice mixed with defeat and deep resignation leaked weakly from her lips.
“……That and this… they’re different.”
“What exactly is different, my pretty daughter?”
“……They’re completely different.”
In a murmur that might have been an excuse to anyone or no one, Carna slowly, painfully realized that she was helplessly being swallowed up by this bizarre and depraved daily life.
And so the grotesque and confusing morning passed, and night came once again.
Carna spent the entire day desperately suppressing the emotional turmoil that had shaken her heart. After work, she returned to the secret room that had become hers and Edric’s.
Believing that her body—now able to resist its owner and speak the unspeakable truth—was proof that she was overcoming the hypnosis, she steeled her resolve to defeat it through training with Edric as quickly as possible.
But that firm determination shattered pathetically the moment the door to the secret room opened.
—Creak.
“……Uh, Mother?”
A dazed voice slipped from Carna’s lips.
Beyond the naturally opened door stood Camilla, as if she had always been a piece of furniture in this room. She stood at perfect attention in the rigid, flawless posture befitting the Empire’s Knight Commander.
Completely naked, without a single thread on her body.
And just like the day before, a red crest glowed over the spot where her womb lay. With unfocused, dreamy eyes, she politely bowed her head toward Carna.
By Master’s command. Awaiting in Full Hypnosis Mode. Please use me all night, whenever you desire.
At that bizarre and lewd declaration, Carna’s face turned deathly pale.
The figure of the naked Knight Commander standing tall in the middle of the secret room looked like a statue put on display purely to mock her.
It felt like the true owner of the Count—no, of her mother—had thrown her here to ridicule Carna’s pathetic will to save her, as if to say, ‘Your mother is already nothing but my toy, so use her however you like.’ An ugly, malicious prank.
As a result, naturally, Carna could not focus even one percent on her hypnosis-overcoming training.
She kept stealing glances at her mother standing motionless and naked, trembling with shame and fear. Meanwhile, Edric was naturally getting hard as he enjoyed the magnificent nude show. The environment made proper training impossible, especially since Carna had to physically cover his eyes with her hands so he wouldn’t look at her mother.
“You… you horny piece of trash…! Don’t look! Don’t touch Mother…! I-I’ll… I’ll take care of it for you!”
In the end, the resistance and compromise Carna could offer took an utterly miserable form.
With tears of shame glistening in her eyes, she roughly yanked down his pants.
“You crazy bastard! Why are you getting hard looking at Mother! This is the same as when you got hard looking at Aunt Carna!!”
Because Camilla and Carna shared a resemblance as cousins, she glared resentfully at Edric’s rigidly erect member—which looked ready to burst through his pants—and spat out a string of crude curses.
Edric remained silent with no excuses, simply closing his eyes with a sigh.
But beneath those closed lids, he was savoring the soft touch offered by her pathetic filial devotion and swallowing an awkward smile.
Watching him, Carna gripped the burning center with her trembling, soft hands and began to diligently stroke him, soothing his lust.
The meager sense of relief that she was personally relieving the devil’s carnal desire that bound her, while at least preventing her mother from being violated—that alone was dragging Carna even deeper into the swamp. And she herself was the only one who didn’t realize it.
