Don't Buy It If You Don't Like It
Don't Buy It If You Don't Like It
In the pharmaceutical industry, to get a patent, you had to fully disclose the manufacturing process. Of course, that was a story from the past. After the bill passed, it changed, but...
Jaeseong Bio also transparently showed its manufacturing process to the government in order to obtain a patent.
The machines moved in perfect coordination, producing Neurogen. To the government officials, there was no problem. It was perfect, without any tricks. Perhaps because the factory was newly built, it was very clean and nice. Safety regulations were also thorough.
However, as time passed... a problem arose elsewhere. It was a problem that arose overseas.
[Jaeseong Bio did not transparently disclose its manufacturing process!]
[Even when making the drug with the exact same formula, it doesn't work properly!]
Making copy drugs was illegal. But Neurogen was expensive. Naturally, copy drugs were inevitably produced in the shadows.
However, every single copy drug did not help with dementia. In fact, they only made it worse.
So they brazenly declared: 'Didn't Jaeseong Bio pull some trick in the manufacturing process?'
Hearing that, the government could not just sit idle.
They had filed a drug manufacturing patent, and if the process was different, that wouldn't be acceptable.
"Good day."
The factory manager, with an ordinary appearance, greeted the government officials. The government official also bowed his head slightly and said to the manager,
"Please take care of us today."
"Yes."
The manager seemed to show no emotion at all. You could say he acted like a machine. If you were to make a humanoid, this is exactly the person you'd think of.
The government official and the manager toured the factory. From the beginning to the end of the manufacturing process, they checked every single thing without missing a beat. Looking at it that way, there was nothing particularly suspicious.
And when they tested the finished drug, they could see that the effect was demonstrated as expected.
Since they had recorded it on video, there was nothing to dispute.
However, drugs not made by Jaeseong Bio did not work.
Even though they matched the manufacturing process exactly as stated in the patent...
The government officials were baffled, as if a ghost was playing tricks.
And yet, there was nothing to say to Jaeseong Bio. Because Jaeseong Bio was neatly following the process and making the drug.
Anyway, since the patent was filed, Jaeseong Bio had no choice but to have a monopoly on producing Neurogen for 20 years. Other places could make it, but selling through legal channels was absolutely impossible.
"Did they do some kind of shaman ritual?"
"Indeed. It's really amazing."
"Could there be some divine energy here?"
The government officials had no choice but to leave without an answer.
Jaeseong Bio was not a small company that could be pushed around. Now, it was the company with the largest number of employees among all enterprises.
It might not be first as a group, but as a single corporation, it employed an overwhelmingly large number of workers.
And since the manufacturing process was transparently open, there was no pretext for criticism. From the start, it was a future technology that modern technology couldn't identify.
"Making copy drugs is detestable, but do we really need to nitpick every detail?"
"Right. What Jaeseong Bio has brought to South Korea is tremendous..."
"It's a company that earns a lot of foreign currency. I don't think we should mess with it when we should be protecting it."
"Let's just move on. We've confirmed everything we needed to."
"Alright."
The government officials also had to protect Jaeseong Bio, the number one bio company in South Korea. Because it was the only company in the world making a dementia treatment. If any problem occurred here, it would be a crisis for dementia patients worldwide.
Of course, they had ample stock, so a year or so would be fine.
Anyway, protecting domestic companies as much as possible was the role of the South Korean government. They had to ignore slander from other countries.
If worst comes to worst, they could just wait 20 years until the patent expires and check then.
And even if this manufacturing process issue caused rejection from other countries, it didn't matter.
Either way, Jaeseong Bio was in the position of power.
In any case, dementia patients voluntarily came to South Korea.
As time passed, it was overseas that faced increasingly negative public opinion.
The thirsty person digs the well. Would the person who has quenched their thirst seek the well?
Already, when Neurogen was being sold, the National Assembly changed the laws regarding new drug launches.
Legally speaking in Korea, there was no problem at all. The amended law said that you only needed to disclose the recipe or manufacturing process in a simple manner.
The government's announcement, in summary, was like this:
[Jaeseong Bio's manufacturing process is identical to the patent... If you don't like it, don't take Neurogen.]
Even just the Neurogen sold domestically was enormous. It would be even better to sell to other countries, but since they'd already established a sales route in the Middle East, other countries were just a matter of time.

Mina opened her eyes. She checked the time. "Oh!"
Jaeseong's tutoring time was approaching. She was now a senior. She had managed her credits rigorously in the early part of college. She took over 20 credits in a semester, and also built up credits through blood donations or summer/winter terms.
So even though she was a senior, her class schedule was spacious. Attending school just three days a week was enough. The rest of the time was all free.
But during her free time, she went to teach her student. Since she was a tutor.
Mina started showering as soon as she got up. She washed every nook and cranny of her body meticulously. Then she came out and started putting on makeup in earnest. As a result of tutoring for over a year, she could earn a tremendous amount of money.
You could say she was paid like a starting salary at a major corporation.
However, that wasn't what she cared about. She looked at her face in the mirror and began her makeup. You could say this wasn't makeup but a transformation spell.
Objectively, Mina had a pretty appearance. But once makeup was applied, she became even prettier.
"Aigoo, you girl. Did you get a boyfriend or something?"
Mina was so focused on her makeup that she didn't notice her mother standing beside her. Mina shrieked in embarrassment.
"A boyfriend! I said it's not like that!"
"You're going to tutor, so why full makeup? You didn't lay a hand on your student, did you?"
Mina's mother looked at her with suspicion. She knew very well that Mina was tutoring. Because Mina earned a lot of money and even gave her parents an allowance.
But that was one thing, and this was another.
"Jaeseong is a second-year high school student! Touch him? What do you mean touch him!"
"At that age, they're full of vigor. It's strange that nothing has happened after a year of that..."
"Omma. I told you not to watch weird stuff! I'm just tutoring!"
Her mother smiled with her eyes and said to Mina,
"If all else fails, just pounce on him...! Men are simple creatures."
"Ah! Go, omma!"
Mina chased out her mother who was talking nonsense. Mina's face had turned red as a beet.
In her underwear, she stood in front of the mirror. Then she took out clothes one by one and held them up to her body.
"This one seems too revealing..."
She said, looking at a dress with a deep neckline. She thought he might think she looked cheap if she wore something like that. Mina took out another outfit. It was a plain one-piece dress.
But she didn't like that either. If only she knew Jaeseong's preferences... She thought it would be nice to have an ability to see a man's tastes.
Ultimately, Mina's choice was a blouse and skirt. It was an outfit that made her look like a fresh college girl at a glance. Since Mina was older than Jaeseong, she chose an outfit to look as young as possible. She smiled and looked at herself.
She thought she could definitely be called pretty like this. Mina was grateful to her parents for giving birth to her like this. Because she had large breasts and a good figure. In high school, she'd slightly resented the weight of her chest, but that was a misunderstanding. For a woman, large breasts brought unconditional merit.
Of course, Mina had never dated a man, let alone held hands.
During a year of tutoring, she learned that Jaeseong was more oblivious than she'd imagined. Or maybe that was natural. From talking with him, Jaeseong didn't even have a female friend, let alone a girlfriend.
He went to an all-boys elementary school and also an all-boys middle school. Naturally, he'd be bound to be interested in women, but...
Mina set off. As always, the house Jaeseong lived in was tremendously large. Even if Mina gathered her entire fortune, she might not be able to afford even a single bathroom in Jaeseong's house.
Security was also strict. Outsiders couldn't enter the apartment complex freely. Of course, Mina had gotten to know the security guards over a year, so she entered without any special checks.
Mina pressed the doorbell.
Ding-dong, a clear and melodious chime rang out. And soon the door opened. Jaeseong came out from inside.
Mina beamed and said to Jaeseong,
"Jaeseong-ah, hello~"
"Noona, hello!"
Mina entered Jaeseong's house.
