Prologue — How Did It Come to This
The gaming friend I'd always assumed was a guy turned out to be a girl.
Four whole years, and not once had I doubted it—the friend I'd taken, without a second thought, for a man.
Well, so what. She could be a girl. It wasn't as if that changed the way I looked at her.
A friend was a friend. There was never any chance of me developing feelings that went beyond that.
From the start, that sort of thing was so far outside anything that could ever happen between the two of us—
"Eggs. We're out. Should I go buy some?"
"......"
"...Siyun?"
"Huh—wha? Yeah? Sorry, I was off in my own head and didn't catch that."
"...Right. So, should I go buy them. The eggs."
"Y-yeah. Go ahead."
"I'll be back."
—or so I'd thought.
By the time I came to my senses, we were living together.
