So I'm Their Guardian Knight, Guardian, and Bodyguard?
“What the hell is wrong with these crazy bitches?”
“Shin Yewon? How are you already here so…!”
The woman with magenta hair who had been called Shin Yewon completely ignored the genuinely shocked Seo Yura, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, and swept her gaze across the room. Deadly bolts of lightning and pitch-black fog churned everywhere, yet she didn’t seem to care in the slightest. Instead, she frowned openly like she was looking at annoying flies and strode straight toward my bed.
“Out of the way, you corporate crybaby who only knows how to bare her teeth and you fake noble bitch who swam over from across the pond.”
“Oh……”
It looked like the woman named Shin Yewon was the type to let her actions speak louder than her words. How refreshing…! No, that wasn’t the point. Anyway, while Seo Yura and Chloe stood there with their mouths hanging open in utter bewilderment, she reached me and without hesitation grabbed my right hand—the one riddled with IV needles—and lifted it.
Then she began yanking the needles out one by one like it was nothing.
Whoa, shit… What the actual hell!
Was it even allowed for a non-professional to mess with medical equipment like that? The sudden situation left me, just like the other two, completely frozen with my mouth opening and closing uselessly. But I barely managed to pull myself together. When I looked down to speak, I received yet another shock.
Despite her crude tone and rough demeanor, her touch was incredibly gentle and careful. It was so precise that if I hadn’t seen what came before, I would have assumed a nurse was performing the treatment.
“Why the hell did they stick so many in?”
She carefully removed the oxygen saturation monitor that had been clipped to my fingertip last.
“Ouch…!”
“Does it hurt? Hang on.”
When red droplets of blood began to well up where the needles had been, Shin Yewon rummaged through her pocket with one hand and pulled out a small glass bottle. The moment the lid opened, a transparent liquid carrying a faint grassy scent dripped onto my wounds. The burning pain vanished instantly. The bleeding stopped, and the skin healed without a trace.
Uh… huh? Well, I guess I should thank her first?
It was a nonstop barrage of bewildering events. As I stared at my now-clean forearm, lost in thought, my vision suddenly tilted sideways.
“Eup?!”
In the blink of an eye, Shin Yewon’s strong forearm slid under my knees and back, lifting me clean off the bed in what people called a princess carry. She hoisted an adult man like me as if I weighed no more than a stuffed doll or a light piece of luggage. She wore an utterly shameless, confident expression.
At the same time, the faces of Seo Yura and Chloe, who had been frozen in shock, twisted into something truly terrifying. Shin Yewon met those murderous glares head-on and clicked her tongue.
“You brain-dead bitches, fighting right in front of the damn patient.”
Her voice dripped with pure exasperation and irritation.
“I’m taking my bodyguard first, so come find me at the Shin family once you’ve settled your little catfight, you pathetic losers.”
The blatant provocation hit like a slap.
“…What?”
“What the hell did you just say, you muscle-brained bitch?”
The moment Shin Yewon finished speaking, it sounded like both women’s sanity snapped in half.
“…Fine. All right. Let’s really end this today, shall we?”
Seo Yura reacted first. She swung the gun barrel that had been aimed at Chloe toward Shin Yewon and shouted. Chloe gathered the scattered lightning into a single point, clearly ready to electrocute her on the spot.
“Don’t you dare touch my guardian with those vulgar, ignorant hands! And before that—why are you taking Sihyuk to the Shin family?!”
From their voices and expressions alone, it looked like bullets and lightning orbs were about to fly everywhere… but because my body was now a literal hostage, neither of them could point their weapons or magic directly at us. The fear of missing and hitting me was written all over their faces.
After hearing that deafening uproar, Shin Yewon tilted her head with genuine disbelief and glanced back and forth between them.
“What kind of nonsense is this now? Why the hell would Sihyuk be your bodyguard or guardian?”
She pulled me even closer into her embrace and let out a hollow laugh. S-so soft.
“This guy has been my bodyguard, protecting me since elementary school.”
She said it with absolute confidence. Memories, moments, and a past with me that I didn’t have at all.
“What the hell are you talking about!”
“If you spout one more word of bullshit, I’ll fry that arrogant mouth first?”
Seo Yura and Chloe bared their teeth and screamed at the same time. Any trace of the somewhat refined bickering about middle-school connections or family guardians had vanished long ago. This was now the opening act of a full-blown, mud-slinging fight that reached all the way back to elementary school.
The three women refused to yield even an inch. They shouted that each of them was the real employer, their voices shaking the hospital room.
Ah… My eardrums are going to burst. My head too.
It felt like my brain cells, which had only just calmed down, were screaming again. I had zero memories, yet three completely different versions of my past had suddenly been created in this absurd situation. I had no idea how to even begin processing it.
Above all, the hardest part was my current position.
The embarrassment is off the charts… Can’t you put me down first?
A grown man dangling in a woman’s arms in a princess carry. I couldn’t even whine out loud… All I could do was weakly cover my face with both hands against the overwhelming shame and awkwardness.
After nearly five minutes of that high-volume screaming, the chaos ended far more anticlimactically than expected.
“If you cause any more disturbances in the ward, I will have all three of you removed.”
“…We’re sorry.”
“I didn’t do anything wrong… Never mind, I understand.”
A nurse had entered with three police officers—probably because someone had reported the commotion—and put a stop to it. Honestly, given how they had been acting moments before, I thought they wouldn’t even blink at the police… but they really were still just kids after all.
Whatever it is, I can finally breathe.
I sat quietly in the guardian chair the nurse had brought over and watched the three sullen women for a moment. Only then did I let out a small sigh and close my eyes.
I was truly exhausted. The first piece of information I received after waking up from amnesia was that these insane women were all claiming ownership of me… At least they were all ridiculously beautiful, so I could let it slide this far. If they had been unattractive, I might have genuinely begged those police officers to arrest them on the spot.
After spending nearly ten minutes in silence, cooling my head, I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the three of them.
First, the woman with short black hair—Seo Yura. The sole successor to the Arzen Magictech Group, a leading Korean conglomerate that monopolized magic engineering technology worldwide.
Next, the woman with lemon-colored hair and sea-blue eyes—Chloe Hartfield. The noble daughter of the prestigious Hartfield family, who had earned their title through achievements after the Gates appeared.
Finally, the woman with magenta hair and light red eyes—Shin Yewon. The bloodline of the Shin family, a renowned martial house that had produced countless elite warriors.
……Ah, this is complicated.
I had tried to organize it, but I still had no idea what the hell was going on. Well, there was no helping it… My reason had finally returned, so I figured I could at least hold a conversation now.
I cleared my throat lightly and carefully spoke to the woman named Seo Yura, who sat on the far left.
“Ahem. Um, Miss Seo Yura, right?”
At my call, Seo Yura—despite her ice-queen appearance—broke into a bright smile and nodded eagerly like an excited puppy.
“Could you explain how I ended up losing my memory and lying here in the hospital?”
“…Ah!”
Instantly grasping my intent, Seo Yura naturally pulled her chair closer and began to explain.
“It happened because of a sudden S-class Gate Break. You were protecting me as my guardian knight and got seriously injured by the fragments…”
Before she could finish, Chloe nearly shot up from her seat.
“What are you talking about! My guardian was the one protecting me and got hurt!”
Remembering the nurse’s warning, she quickly sat back down and hissed the words. Shin Yewon, sitting on the opposite side, crossed her arms, crossed her legs, and scowled fiercely.
“What the hell are these crazy bitches saying? My bodyguard took the Wolf King’s claw in my place and was on death’s door! If I hadn’t let my guard down…!”
Shin Yewon’s voice trembled slightly at the end. Whatever had happened, she seemed genuinely furious and sorry that she had been careless. Despite her tough, tattooed-girl appearance, she hid this surprisingly soft side. It was a fascinating contrast.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to leisurely observe them. The extinguished spark looked ready to reignite.
I waved both hands frantically and cut in.
“Wait, wait! Everyone calm down.”
At my urgent plea, all three women’s gazes snapped to me at once.
“So basically, I got hurt while protecting all of you as a guardian knight, a guardian, and a bodyguard, right? I get that much. But…”
I pointed at my own face and asked with genuine confusion.
“Why are you all so desperate to claim me? Am I really that incredible of a person?”
It was pure curiosity. These women overflowed with money, power, and strength—why were they so frantic over someone like me who couldn’t even remember anything?
But it clearly wasn’t a simple question. The moment the words left my mouth, all three women’s eyes flashed with murderous intensity. They looked ready to compete over who could first explain how special I was and what grand stories we had built together.
Yet their stories never even began.
“I’ll explain that myself. My escort knight.”
Because another voice suddenly rang out from above.
All four of us in the hospital room looked up at the ceiling at the same time.
Crack.
A black fissure split the pure white ceiling, and a perfectly round hole opened up. Beyond it was an abyss without a single speck of light. Something fluttering inside that darkness popped out.
“Eek! I-I’ve lost my balance!!”
Someone wearing a pure white lab coat shouted as they plummeted straight onto the hospital room floor. The unidentified intruder lay flat on the dust-covered ground without making a single groan or movement.
“……Yes?”
Ah, what the hell is this now, seriously.
