Maid Cafe Rebellion

I stepped out to the southeastern classroom building to check on the progress of the Academy Festival preparations. This was the space assigned to this year's first-years.
The training grounds attached to the classroom building were buzzing with activity for the event setup. It should have been class time, but all lessons were canceled for the festival prep. The Academy Festival was a big deal here at the academy.
Students were sawing planks with rhythmic scrapes, painting signs, climbing ladders to hang decorations—everyone was hustling. You could feel the excitement in the air from all that movement.
"Hey. I've been looking all over for you."
Not everyone was thrilled, though. A sharp, cat-like voice sliced through from the corner of the training grounds.
The owner matched her voice: a prickly-looking woman with an edgy vibe. She was the type you'd love to devour.
"Me?"
"Yeah. You're the exec chairman Johann, right?"
"I'm the only Johann at the academy."
Tiger-striped ears poked up from her head—she was definitely a tiger beastkin. Flanking her were a wolf beastkin girl and a cat beastkin girl, arms crossed, glaring daggers at me with sour faces.
"Looks like you're picking a fight. Got a problem?"
"A major problem. You can't pretend you don't know."
"What problem?"
"The event you planned! A maid cafe!? You expect noble Pantara here to prance around in skimpy girly clothes serving people!? That's bullshit! If my dad found out, he'd rip you apart on the spot! You know outsiders come to the festival, right?"
"It's my call what event we do. I'm the exec chairman."
Our first-year class had decided on a maid cafe. Naturally, it was my unilateral decision. But it wasn't unpopular.
"Right! We should respect the exec chairman's call."
A guy decorating the exterior chimed in. None of the boys objected to my plan.
"Excluding the horny guys and the crazy succubi, nobody agrees! How are guys in heat all year round!? This is the worst!"
The tiger beastkin girl who'd called herself Pantara spat, and her friends nodded along.
"Yeah! All guys are scum! And why do we girls have to join this cafe mandatory!?"
"Plus, that maid outfit you gave us? The fabric's too damn small! How are we supposed to wear that?"
"It's not mandatory for everyone. I picked the girls who meet the looks threshold. And that maid outfit? It's one of the traditional succubus clan garments. I'd appreciate it if you didn't trash another clan's culture."
"Hmph! Only a succubus could pull off that slutty getup anyway. Whatever! We ain't agreeing. No maid cafe for us!"
Pantara's declaration set off murmurs among the boys. The girls' mood swung right back up in response.
"Girls! We're doing all the grunt work here! You lot are just slacking off!"
"You pervs wanted this from the start! Whether you prep or not, it doesn't involve us."
"The festival's in a week, and you pull this now!?"
"We never even discussed the maid cafe with us!"
The training grounds turned into chaos in seconds. Public opinion split hard: boys and succubi wanted the maid cafe; the other girls were dead against it. Gender wars were a thing even in this world.
"Sigh. This is why I hate dealing with brainless bimbos."
"Hey! You magic club losers picking a fight!? Don't you know your boss caused that huge mess and flipped the academy upside down? And you got the nerve to act high and mighty!?"
"What!? Jekki went rogue on his own—that ain't our fault! And he wasn't even the magic club head!"
Once ignited, the conflict spread like wildfire across the grounds. Amid the contagious uproar, Bain snuck up and tugged my sleeve.
"Johann... the kids are really fighting..."
"Totally expected."
"I'll like anything you prepared, Johann."
Bain murmured shyly. Her affection was already maxed out over 100%.
"Everyone, quiet! Aren't you all busy with festival prep!?"
Teacher Bernhard was the first to tamp down the noise. Her booming voice drowned out the petty squabbles. The girls seized the chance and rushed to her.
"Teacher! Rein in the boys! They're doing something super stupid!"
"Stupid, huh? This about the festival?"
"Yes!"
The girls nodded vigorously, smug like they'd found an ally. Bernhard had been picked as the first-year homeroom teacher for the festival.
"They want us to dress like whores in frilly maid outfits and serve people!"
"Cafes and pop-up taverns are academy traditions. Maid cafe's new, though."
The girls' faces went sheet-white at Bernhard's unexpected response.
"I-it's basically naked! They want us serving like that!"
"Heard it's a traditional succubus outfit. Right, Johann?"
"Yes."
"Then no issue."
"Wha—!? You're serious!? Teacher Bernhard!?"
Bernhard was already on my side—hell, she'd even agreed to wear a maid costume herself. A muscular, tanned maid? Just thinking about it made my dick throb.
"It's the exec chairman's call anyway. If you hate it, challenge him fair and square in a duel and take the seat. I'll judge."
"Th-that's..."
No confidence in a duel? The girls glanced my way.
"Accepting results is part of what you learn at the academy."
"But still..."
"Back to work, everyone. No time for this noise."
Bernhard turned and left. Pantara reached out desperately toward her back, but the teacher didn't even glance over.
The boys grinned and resumed prep.
"Bernhard-sensei. First impression was stubborn conservative, but she's full of surprises."
"She's gotten even hotter lately. More sex appeal? Ogre Instructor nickname doesn't even fit anymore."
"Bury my face in those explosive thighs... heaven."
Of course she'd gotten sexier. She sucked my cock every weekend.
"Bernhard sorted traffic. Girls, anything else?"
"Grrr...!"
The girls fumed but didn't push back like before. Then an unexpected voice piped up from elsewhere.
"Johann. I think you should hear the girls out to some degree."
"Vints. Didn't expect that from you."
Vints Kartman
One of the original story's key side characters, an academy standout with huge potential.
Vints's words emboldened the girls again.
"Vints is right! Johann, your way's too dictatorial!"
"Vints! Flatten that pretty-boy poser! He's nothing special!"
"No. I can't beat Johann."
After teaming up with me in midterms, Vints knew his limits. Proof of his talent.
"I respect your choice as exec chairman, Johann. But pushing ahead when nearly half the class opposes? That's overreach."
"Flip it: half supports it. Plenty legit."
"Even if we do the cafe, forcing the dissenters in is bad. Just have the willing succubi do it."
"Not enough manpower with just succubi."
Truth was, manpower wasn't the issue. I just wanted to see cute girls in maid outfits.
Pantara, was it?
That snarly one who'd stirred shit earlier? She'd get something extra slutty.
"My mind's set. Hate it? Duel me and change it. The girls seem to want you as their dark knight. Up for it?"
"No point gambling on a fixed outcome. But I have an alternative."
"Alternative?"
"If the girls strike, you're screwed too. Festival tanks, end of story. We need a compromise."
"Not budging an inch. Maid cafe, succubus style outfits, period."
"Stiff as bamboo. How about this? Decide the cafe another way—no duels."
"No duel? Dodging 'cause you know you'd lose?"
"Yeah. Result's too obvious."
Vints didn't deny it. His face was transparent as glass. Lying didn't suit him.
"Why should I play along?"
"Like I said, strike leaves you high and dry. Festival ruined, no winners, just losers. Change the bet format, and if we lose, we accept clean."
Vints turned to the girls for buy-in.
"Right?"
"Uh... if we lose some other way... we'll drop it."
They caved quick, swept up in the mood.
"Tch. Feminists tamed. Fine, what's the new bet?"
I had zero doubt I'd win any bet.
"You're in?"
"Wasting time chitchatting sucks. Spill it."
"Refreshing. Theme... how about treasure hunt?"
"Treasure hunt out of nowhere?"
"Least physical interference."
"Blatantly rigging for your advantage."
"Hate it? Pick another."
Vints said coolly.
"Nah, fine as is. But who hides the treasure? Not you, right?"
"Course not. Third party for fairness."
