I Hate It When Piercings Intrude in a Yuri Story
After leaving the dorm and wandering the city streets a bit, I spot a small shop displaying accessories for sale. I browse the shiny trinkets. Truth be told, I never really cared about dressing up or stuff like this, but now that I'm here, buying one doesn't seem like such a bad idea. Earrings. Where are the earrings? Dana watches me from the side. She looks like she's pondering something, then speaks up.
"Lily."
"Yeah?"
"Let's ditch the piercing idea."
What the hell? After coming all this way? You said you'd do it for me. So that's what you've been mulling over this whole time?
"No way!"
"…."
Dana clams up when I whine like a sulky kid. You got yours done, so why can't I? She clearly wasn't prepared for that obvious comeback.
"Don't blame me if you regret it."
"Why would I regret it?"
Regret? What the fuck is she on about? I brush off her words and keep browsing. Oh. Found one I like. I pick up an earring and hold it close to inspect it. Dana butts in again.
"Nope, not that one."
"Why not."
"Too big and flashy. Not for a first-timer."
"But I like it…."
"Why?"
"It looks kinda like yours."
"Exactly why it's a no."
"Huh?"
"It'd look like a couple thing."
Eek. I drop it with a yelp. Dana stares at me intently for a second, then shakes her head like whatever and steps up to pick out one for me.
"If you're dead set on it, go with this."
"……It's so plain."
"Yeah."
"Isn't it kinda small?"
"Perfect size for a first piercing. Wear it, then swap later."
"You can just swap it out?"
"Depends on the person. Change too soon and the hole might get infected."
"Ugh. So when can I…?"
"Gotta wait a few months."
A few months? Then I should've gone with something I actually like from the start. As I pout, Dana clicks her tongue.
"Tch. Listen to me."
"Fine…."
"I'll buy it for you, though."
"No, it's mine to wear…."
"Let me buy it for you."
Well, if she insists. Score—free earrings. Hell yeah. We take it to the counter together. The clerk, who must've overheard us and glanced at my ear, chimes in.
"First piercing?"
"Yup."
"Want us to do it here?"
"Please."
…And that's where the trouble starts. She pulls out this ridiculously huge needle—no, skewer is more like it—and comes straight at my ear. I instinctively back up several steps. She smiles kindly as she approaches, but eek, eek, scary….
"I-is this the right thing…?"
"It'll sting. Just a quick sting."
Liar. Maybe for a regular needle, but this? It's pointy, sure, but basically a giant nail. I keep retreating like she's chasing me, and she keeps following…. My back hits the wall—no escape. I shoot Dana a desperate look, clinging to her pant leg. Help me out here…!
"You said you wanted it."
"I-I didn't know it'd be like this…!"
"Can't do it? Tough luck."
"Oh. No refunds, sorry."
"…."
Smart business. But yeah, can't argue—it's one hundred percent my fault for chickening out. I got too cocky just watching Dana do hers…. Ugh. Should I just grit my teeth and get it over with?
…Nah, not enough guts. I'm a coward. Whimper….
"Oh. I'll take this one too."
Ignoring my sulking, Dana grabs another pair—the one I dropped earlier after the couple freakout.
"Why that one?"
"Eh? Backup."
"Backup?"
"In case something happens to the one you're wearing."
"Ohhh."
……
……
……
We leave the shop and head back to the dorm room. No refunds, so here I am, staring daggers at the earrings in my palm. That shop sucks.
"Lily. Don't force it."
"But it's such a waste…."
"Yeah, fair."
That I knew you'd say that look in her eyes is kinda annoying. Feels like she's treating me like a kid. Random, but I've got this bad habit: my fragile ego gets scratched, and I act on impulse.
"Wanna go back and get it done?"
"Shop's probably closed. It's late."
"Eek."
I deflate a little. All that buildup for nothing. Bummer….
Whimper….
"You really want it?"
"Huh?"
"I could pierce it for you."
"For real?"
"Yeah. If you really want it."
I bought them—can't just let 'em sit. Of course I want it now. Dana rummages in her bed shelf and pulls out a piercing tool that looks just like the shop's monster skewer. She had one this whole time?
"Gonna sterilize it. Wait here."
"O-okay."
"If you're scared, we can stop now…."
"No. Do it."
"Hmph."
A bit later. I gaze up at the sharp tool and Dana holding it.
"G-go easy, please…?"
Why the sudden formal speech? But hey, it's natural to cower in front of someone wielding a weapon. Yeah. At first, that's how it was. Go easy, please. Close my eyes, wait for the quick sting—like a shot. Scary, but just endure it….
But minds don't work that way.
"……Don't dodge."
"Okay."
"Stay still. Wanna get stabbed somewhere weird?"
"Okay. Got it."
"Don't just say it—actually stay still."
"U-uh-huh…."
I don't want to move. My body won't listen…!
After some back-and-forth, Dana's getting pissed at my constant dodging despite agreeing to it. Dana's got a short fuse.
"Hey. I said stay still…."
"Eek."
She even grabs my jaw with a terrifying glare. I want to stay still. But it's scary! I blink like crazy, and she sighs.
"That's why I told you to give up earlier."
"It's a waste! You bought it for me!"
"What, it's not that expensive."
"Shut up. I want my ear pierced."
"Keep pissing me off? Then hold still."
"I-I'm scared…."
"What do you want me to do?"
This drags on for like another hour. Hold still. Scary. Then don't do it. But I want to. Dana's on the verge of exploding. I know. I know I'm being annoying. Still, feeling awkward and shameless, I yell instead.
"Dana! You don't get people's feelings at all!"
"Don't wanna hear that from you."
"What'd I do?"
"…Whatever. This isn't a big deal. Just endure it for a sec."
"You say that 'cause you're used to piercings."
"I didn't freak out like this my first time."
"Yeah, sure. You'd probably pierce your nipples too!"
"Shut up before I pierce yours with this."
"Hic."
Dana's too worked up to realize what she's saying. Even I blurt stuff out in my head sometimes. But nipple piercing? No way that's normal girl talk. She realizes it quick too.
"……."
"……."
We both go beet red and shut up. Mine's worse. Kinda, really embarrassing. You might think I'm overreacting since I toss around crude stuff like pussy-rubbing or sex without batting an eye, but no. It's my… complex. Born with inverted nipples, not my fault, but it's weird, different from others. As my tits grew, they sank deeper, now barely visible. I've even seriously considered piercing to fix it, so I let it slip unconsciously, but her throwing it back… ugh, whatever….
"Ow?!"
"Finally got it. See? Just a sting."
"Wh-what sting? It hurts…!"
"Stay still. Gotta put the earring in right away."
She pops in the one we bought. I ignore the throbbing pain in my lobe and check the mirror. Not sure if it suits me. Eh, not wearing it for anyone anyway.
"Don't take it out for a while. It'll get infected."
"Okay."
Drained from wrestling with me, Dana flops onto her bed. Then, like it just hit her, she speaks.
"Lily."
"Yeah."
"Can I ask something?"
What's this about? Her tone's dead serious, so I snap out of it and look over. She hesitates, then asks.
"You're such a scaredy-cat. Hate pain too."
"Huh?"
"How'd you endure that time?"
She's vague, but I know exactly what she means. Probably middle school. When I was at the center of the bullying. Hate thinking about it. If it weren't Dana, I'd brush it off or change the subject. But….
"Dunno. 'Cause I deserved it?"
"You didn't do anything wrong."
"Dunno."
No wrongdoing? Not knowing my place was a huge fuckup. Just got what I deserved. Thought that then, think it now. But I can't say it. Her face is too serious. I fiddle with my fresh piercing absentmindedly. The sting brings tears to my eyes.
"I want you to act natural. Like before."
Dana says something weird. Sounds like a drama line.
What the hell? That's my response, but….
"……I'll think about it."
She's my only friend, after all.
That night, I have a dream. Alicia, Serina, and Dana all show up, strip me naked, tease me gently till my hidden bits pop out, then shove skewers in—no matter how much I beg them to stop, they ignore me and do whatever. The worst nightmare ever.
"UWAAAAAAAHHHHH?!?!"
What kinda fucked-up dream is this…!?
