Chapter 9: The Hysterical Boss's Secret 2

(Lee Hyun-jung, Department Head)
"Does this even make sense?!"
Thud!
Lee Hyun-jung, the department head, slammed the documents down on her desk with force.
At the top, it read Evaluation Report.
'Ah, damn it. I know exactly who this is from.'
She could glimpse the handwriting in the complaint section.
The spot that should have the least writing was crammed with the most.
"Does it make any sense for a security guard to assault a fan?"
"That's not what—"
I'd handled security for an influencer's fan signing event not long ago.
One fan had tried to rush the stage, and I'd blocked him with my body.
"It was a sudden incident, so I had to step in for security."
"Isn't preventing situations like that before they happen our job?"
"You're right. But it happened outside my coverage area, so I couldn't react in time..."
"You think slacking off just because it's outside your zone is acceptable?"
"..."
It was unfair.
At the time, I'd been covering the opposite side when the fan rushed in.
The area he'd breached was supposed to be guarded by the influencer's manager, who failed to stop him properly.
That delayed my response, but I still managed to block the fan successfully.
I thought it deserved praise...
'This bitch...'
The influencer had filed a complaint claiming I'd assaulted her fan.
How the hell was I supposed to know if that guy was even a real fan?
What if he'd been carrying a knife?
It was a chilling thought.
Luckily, he turned out to be an obsessive male fan who just wanted a hug.
That was unhinged too, but I'd done my duty to the best of my ability.
'She's just using me to manage her image.'
Unfair as it was, from a security perspective, there was nothing I could do.
Blowing it up would only hurt the company later.
"I did my absolute best on the assignment I was given."
"You should have handled the situation more proactively and cleanly."
Department Head Lee knew I wasn't wrong.
But the reason she was venting like this...
'How long is this hysterical bullshit gonna last?'
Old maid hysteria.
34 years old, right?
Not that old, but unmarried and not even dating.
More like, she couldn't.
Was she ugly?
No.
Honestly, she was pretty.
Her features were a bit sharp, but she was definitely in the beauty category.
Her body was impeccably maintained, fitting for someone in security.
Full where it should be full,
slim where it should be slim—a near-ideal figure.
Plenty of guys at the company had crushes on her.
Well, had.
'I was attracted to her at first too...'
Nine-year age gap.
Still, her youthful looks and body drew the eye.
Until her personality came into play...
"Security is about protection, not beating people up. Haven't you learned that yet?"
"I know that full well."
"Then you should have acted like it!"
"I'm sorry..."
Arguing back here would be pointless.
She'd keep this up until her mood improved.
I clenched my fists, trembling with barely contained rage.
"Influencers are tight-knit! What if bad rumors about our company spread because of this?!"
"I'm sorry..."
"Forget it. Get out and write a letter of apology."
"Yes, ma'am."
In the end, I left the room after an undeserved scolding.
"Tough break, Kim."
"It's fine."
Section Chief Park knew exactly what kind of hysterical mood Department Head Lee was in.
"That's why she can't get married. Tsk tsk."
"Has she really never dated anyone?"
"Yeah, a former female employee told me. She vented about it over drinks."
Top-tier looks and figure,
stable job.
Did she hate men?
Not really.
She didn't hate men specifically—she just hated anyone who didn't meet her standards.
She chewed out other female employees the same way for mistakes or sloppiness.
The issue was applying that to blind dates too.
"Heard she got mad at a guy for slurping his coffee and stormed out right there."
"...Isn't that insane?"
Dating's about compromising with each other.
Even if something bugs you at first sight, you work through it.
But not Department Head Lee.
Her skills were top-notch, though.
Any security job she personally oversaw had zero slip-ups, not even minor ones.
She'd landed big contracts easily and risen to department head fast.
Too young for executive yet, but everyone said promotion was inevitable soon.
The problem? Forcing her perfectionism on everyone else.
"Honestly, if she managed people like she does work, we'd be a major corp by now."
Section Chief Park said it jokingly, but it wasn't entirely wrong.
"It's getting worse, though."
"Yeah. Rumor is she's exhausted all blind dates from her contacts..."
"What about marriage agencies?"
"She joined one, but her standards are so picky, no matches in two years."
"Whoa..."
Amazing that no guy met her criteria in two years,
but sticking with it without quitting? Impressive.
She clearly wanted a man.
Just not finding one up to her specs.
'With that personality, probably impossible...'
A woman demanding perfection from others like she has it herself.
No man would want that.
And her standards were sky-high, no doubt.
"Other teams have a bet: 1 million won she won't meet a guy before 40."
"What? You're betting on that? She'd flip if she knew."
"Secretly, of course. Wanna join?"
"Nah, I'm good."
Section Chief Park looked disappointed.
"If only that personality wasn't there, she'd be perfect."
"Can't argue."
She always unbuttoned her shirt quite a bit because of her large breasts.
Lots of employees called it great "welfare."
Of course, staring openly got you cussed out, so we sneaked peeks.
'No wonder she can't get a guy with that attitude.'
I was convinced her future held no men.
Feeling a pang of pity inside, I started writing the apology letter.
Vowing never to get involved with a woman like Department Head Lee...
——
"Hoo... Not a single guy catches my eye."
After chewing out Kim, I sighed and reviewed the evaluation report again.
The complaint was honestly bullshit.
The influencer's manager failed to hold the line,
and Kim rushed in to subdue—resulting in a scuffle.
Just doing his job as security.
No actual violence in the takedown.
He just blocked the path and warned verbally.
I'd give it 90 out of 100.
"Still, failing to prevent it beforehand is an issue."
If I'd been there, I'd have watched even outside my zone.
Kim's mistake: thinking only of his assigned area.
Plus, no injury to the influencer, security intact.
Just a minor fan clash.
Perfect security overall.
A bit regrettable, but Kim handled it well.
Still, with a complaint, I couldn't ignore it.
A letter of apology would suffice.
"What a shame..."
I've met tons of guys. (Blind dates only.)
Not one clicked.
Except one who almost does.
"If only he'd been born a little earlier..."
Kim Dae-ri.
At just 25, he handles work competently,
looks and build without flaws.
Unlike other guys who can't meet my eyes,
he stares straight.
His gaze, laced with resentment and anger, shoots right at me without hesitation.
'Anyone but me would've buckled under that look.'
Other bosses might've folded.
That's why I'm the perfect superior for him.
'First time getting a look like that.'
Even as a newbie.
No fancy specs or connections.
But he proved himself with skill and talent.
Company's next ace in the making.
Stuck at assistant level due to no openings—
otherwise, he'd be section chief already.
"If only five years earlier... Tsk."
Not perfect, but close enough to date now and fix later.
First guy to make me think that.
But the age gap.
Love knows no age, they say, but nine years is big.
It'd feel even bigger later.
I didn't want to feel like I was aging alone.
"Such a waste. Otherwise, I'd have made him mine for sure..."
I treat him harsher and pickier than others.
For his growth, sure,
but seeing him stirs regret and frustration.
"Time for that again after so long."
Living alone for years.
No dating since no guy appealed,
but I handle my needs myself.
In my own special way.
Anticipating a release tonight, I quietly got to work.
——
8 PM.
Everyone gone, office empty.
"Hee hee hee, perfect♥"
Lee Hyun-jung slipped in quietly, checked her surroundings, and confirmed it was safe.
"Haa♥... Kim Dae-ri."
She approached his desk.
Nothing special about the spot.
But knowing he sat there made her body heat up.
"Borrowing it just a bit♥"
Pop... plop.
She unbuttoned her shirt, freeing her massive breasts trapped inside.
"Kim Dae-ri♥"
Imagining him in her fantasies, she began indulging in her secret pleasure.
Utterly unaware of what might happen soon...
