Awards Ceremony (3): Slime in the Shadows
The awards ceremony dragged on for a full two days.
To me, it seemed utterly pointless...
They're just gonna laugh and chat among themselves anyway, right? No need to rent out an expensive hotel for two whole days just for this crap.
Anyway, following Master's orders, I was heading down the corridor to her room to get laid when I suddenly sensed a presence.
Not a human one.
High-level players have razor-sharp senses for presences.
Having hit level 29, I could pick up even the faintest ones.
A monster...? Damn it!
I knew monsters shouldn't spawn in a place like this, but this presence sure as hell wasn't human.
They say Babel monsters that meet certain conditions spill out onto the surface.
The issue was that players were too damn strong for that to happen easily.
The ceremony left a gap in Babel clears, so monsters slipped through?
My god... If that's the case, shit's about to hit the fan.
Good thing I have the item Master gave me.
The "Surprise Box" series I carry for emergencies lets me store items regardless of weight.
Of course, it's not for everyday use, but it ain't useless.
Problem is, I don't know where the hell it is...
The presence is definitely there. Ceiling, floor...
What the fuck? Is it phasing through walls?
None of the monsters I've fought pull that off...
Which means it's higher level than me. I gripped my emergency gear tight and scanned the surroundings.
It's not lunging first... Should I just bolt to Master's room?
That'd be way smarter, I figured—just as something writhed down from the end of the hall.
A pitch-black, tar-like blob oozed along, staining the floor. It swelled by sucking in shadows, eventually forming a roughly 2-meter humanoid shape.
Summon... A creature called forth by a player's trait.
Not a monster, then?
Didn't make it any better. Summons scale with their master, and from a high-level player, they'd outclass most.
This is insane...
Big trouble. Even a little delay, and Master would lose her shit.
Handling this thing? No problem.
But postponing her horniness? God knows what she'd do to me.
"It talks...?"
Probably the masterminds behind those assassins who tried to kill Master last time.
"If you think this'll let you beat my Master..."
Suddenly, the black slime surged across the floor.
No muscles to speak of, but that speed and power screamed lethal.
Crash! The velocity shattered corridor windows. Wall frames tumbled down.
Head-on block means death.
So don't block head-on. I leaped upward, grabbing the fire alarm right above.
Grabbing its back was a breeze. But slimes got no front or back.
It twisted immediately for a counterattack.
I was faster. Drew my Solar Blade and plunged it into the slime's body.
Sizzle—!
A foul stench assaulted my nose. Sniffing it'd probably wreck my health.
The Solar Blade sliced through the slime's outer layer in an instant, piercing and bursting the weak point inside.
You have defeated the summon.
No EXP gained from killing summons or players. Additional penalty if inside the tower.
Penalty for killing summons too? Probably a rule to protect summoner mains.
Whatever, not important right now...
I'm late...
Took a whopping ten minutes dealing with that thing.
I'm so screwed... What now?
Meanwhile, Sword Saint Ryu Ga-eul chain-smoked while waiting for her disciple.
Takin' a bit long...
The wait only ramped up her anticipation for the sweet fuckfest ahead, so it wasn't all bad.
But drag on too much, and irritation bubbled up inevitably.
Hmm... He run off or somethin'?
No way. Those stubby legs couldn't get him out of Korea without her catching him.
He knew that much. Lighting another cig, she irritably scratched her head and hopped off the bed.
Someone's fuckin' with him, probably.
A hotheaded player might. Remembering this hotel was currently Korea's most dangerous spot, she shot to her feet.
That prime fuckmeat won't pick a fight, but...
Can't be sure. She threw on her robe and stepped into the corridor.
Hm...?
The moment she did, something felt off. She tilted her head.
Unpleasant presence... And killing intent prickling her back.
"Looks like we've got rats. Tsk... They lose their damn minds?"
She flung her wine glass toward the presence.
It rocketed through the darkness, piercing a hidden summon and landing a critical hit in one shot.
Summon? Tucked in the shadows... Hmm, summon specialist, huh.
A real pain in the ass for a sword user like her.
Summoner players preferred sniping from safety, strong against close-range fighters like Ryu Ga-eul.
Not an attack-type summon... Surveillance? Daring to spy on me?
Easy to guess: those same assholes from before trying to kill her again.
Fuckin' vermin bitches... Such a hassle.
She'd thought she'd shattered them, but it just pierced—no explosion.
High durability from a strong summon.
Level 50 or higher. Probably...
Even for her at level 89, it'd take some effort.
Hmm... This is risky?
She decided to bolt to her disciple's location.
How? Simple. Hoisted her fist high...
"Repair bill later, whatever."
Boom—!
Her punch pulverized the thick hotel floor.
A hole no bomb could match gaped open, and she dropped through casually.
Repeated the trick a few times—way faster than stairs or elevator—to reach the lower floor.
"Oh, there you are."
"Ma-Master?"
How many floors down? Finally, her adorable disciple came into view.
Sweat glistened on that pale, silky skin. She couldn't hold back—grabbed his waist, yanked him close, and lapped up the dripping sweat with her tongue.
"Ah... Master? Doing this right here feels kinda off."
"Mmmph, fuckin' delicious."
"S-Super glad we met like this, but this is really troublesome...?"
"Same as always."
Park Hyunwoo glanced up at the ceiling. No bomb could punch holes that big.
How insanely strong was she...?
"You fuckin' pretty-boy bitch. Told you to come up after I'm done."
"I-I tried my best to come...!"
"Fuckin' asshole. Tryin' is the bare minimum. Succeedin's the default, you basic-less fuckboy. Gonna wreck you proper in bed."
Summon? Assassin?
Didn't matter to Ryu Ga-eul.
Devouring this insolent little body came first.
She hoisted his arm, buried her nose in his armpit, licked it clean. Then scooped him up bodily.
"C'mon. My cute little dildo."
The nickname shift was too much; Hyunwoo was speechless...
