The Woman I Saw for the First Time Yesterday Came to My Bed
“...Bae Na-eun?”
“Now you recognize me. It’s been a while, huh?”
I was still lying face-down on the bed in the exact same position I’d been sleeping in, only lifting my head in a daze.
The silver-haired woman looked down at me with a mischievous grin.
Was that really Bae Na-eun?
The last memory I had of her was from when she was in her second year of middle school.
She loved eating, so she had a plump figure, long bangs covering her forehead, and big glasses.
Despite her plain looks, her personality was exactly like an elementary school boy’s, so we used to roughhouse like actual siblings.
How could that girl have become this beautiful?
“Is it really you, Bae Na-eun?”
“Why? You don’t believe me?”
“Your face looks totally different....”
“I lost a ton of weight. I also started wearing makeup.”
“What about the glasses?”
“I got LASIK.”
“Your hair?”
“I dyed it, obviously?”
“...It’s really you, Bae Na-eun?”
“Aish, how many times are you going to ask? It’s me, I said!”
That irritated tone was identical to when I used to tease her about her belly fat as a kid.
Wow, it really must be her....
Still, there was a mountain of unanswered questions.
“W-what brings you here?”
“You told me yesterday that you were moving to this apartment. It’s been a while, so I came to hang out.”
She never called me “oppa” and always used casual “you”—yep, that was definitely Bae Na-eun.
“How did you get all the way into my room? Was the front door unlocked?”
“Our moms and dads were close, remember? I called your mom and she gave me both the address and the password.”
Mom, how could you give out your son’s personal information so casually?
Of course, back when we were kids, we were close enough that it was okay....
“It’s a good thing your mom kept the same number. When I called her after all these years, she was thrilled. She said her only son never contacts her and asked me to check if he’s doing well.”
Yeah, I’ve decided. As soon as she leaves, I’m changing the door lock code.
“Then why didn’t you just ring the doorbell? Why come into my room? You scared the hell out of me waking up like that.”
“I did it because I wanted to see you get scared. I didn’t know you’d still be sleeping, though.”
Coming over this early just to see my startled face.
It might sound absurd, but given how we used to prank each other constantly, it was totally in character.
Even yesterday, she must have found it hilarious that I didn’t recognize her and kept pretending not to know me.
“Thanks to you, I got a really funny photo. I should send this to your mom.”
“What were you doing there yesterday anyway? Why were you standing in front of the apartment?”
“I was just passing by and saw a cute cat inside the complex. Since I don’t live here, I felt weird going in, so I was watching from outside.”
“So that’s what it was...?”
A moment ago I’d been panicking because some gorgeous woman had appeared, but finding out it was my childhood friend who was practically like a little sister made the whole thing feel strangely anticlimactic.
The tension drained away, and as I lifted my body from its prone position and sat up properly—
“Ahh! Crazy! Hey! What the fuck!”
“Eh? Whoa!”
I realized the situation too late and hastily snatched the blanket from the floor, covering my crotch with it.
I mean, I’d just woken up and of course it was hard?!
“Did it get big because you saw me? You perverted bastard, I didn’t lose all that weight for this, you know?!”
“What the hell are you talking about, you crazy bitch! Every guy wakes up like this!”
“Ugh. So fucking disgusting, I’ve gone blind! I need to get LASIK again!”
“It’s your fault for barging into someone’s room while they’re sleeping!”
In my panic, my old way of speaking slipped out.
This felt like I’d gone back to my high school days.
That aside, this was incredibly embarrassing, so I wished she’d leave me alone.
“Hey. If you’re done with whatever, get lost already.”
“No way. I’m staying here a while longer.”
“Why?!”
“I moved to this neighborhood for school, but I don’t know anyone around here so I’m bored.”
“Don’t you have classmates?”
“Nope. I took a leave of absence starting from the first semester.”
She was three years younger than me, so she was a college freshman this year. Why take a leave right from the first semester?
More surprisingly, there were schools that even allowed that.
“Why take a leave?”
“Because I didn’t feel like going. I’ll start attending from the second semester though. So can I hang out for a bit?”
It was a bit annoying, but I couldn’t bring myself to coldly kick out a childhood friend I hadn’t seen in years.
As long as she left before I called for Yoon Seol-ah, there wouldn’t be any major issues.
“Sigh. I have plans in the afternoon, so make sure you’re gone before then.”
“Got it, don’t worry!”
—Then suddenly that person asked where the squid that was here went....
“Ahahaha!”
The uninvited guest was laughing with her eyes curved into crescents while watching a YouTube video.
She was half-lying on my bed, watching my PC monitor.
“Ah, I’m losing it. Why is this so funny? Hey, Lim Jjin-hyuk. Haven’t you ever done anything like that?”
“No. But how long are you going to keep watching YouTube?”
“Huh? Is there something else you want to do?”
“That’s not what I mean. If you’re going to watch, why not go to your own house and watch comfortably instead of staying here?”
“It’s more fun with someone else. Why, is this not interesting? Want me to play something else?”
Despite saying that, her eyes stayed glued to the screen and she didn’t move a finger.
“Never mind, it’s fine. Do as you please.”
“Pfft, heh, ahahahaha!”
Forgetting our conversation from moments ago, she fixed her eyes back on the monitor and exploded into laughter again.
I shifted my gaze from the YouTube video to look at her beside me.

No matter how many times I looked, I couldn’t get used to it.
How could a person change this drastically?
If I were to put it harshly, she used to be a glasses-wearing pig girl, but after losing weight and dolling herself up, she looked like an idol.
It was a mystery how only her chest had grown while the rest of her became so slim.
Sitting on a bed with a beauty like this....
Normally my heart should be racing with excitement, but since she was like a sister to me, I couldn’t get my pulse up.
“I’m craving something sweet again. Hey, don’t you have any ice cream?”
“You already ate the two that were there. I was planning to save the expensive ones.”
“There were snacks left, right?”
“You ate all the snacks too, you pig.”
“Ugh! I’m not a pig anymore!”
The riled-up Bae Na-eun sat up straight from her reclined position.
If her nickname for me was Lim Jjin-hyuk, then my nicknames for her were Bae Na-om or simply Pig.
I thought it wouldn’t bother her now that she’d slimmed down, but apparently it still did.
Now that she really wasn’t a pig anymore, it probably felt even more unfair.
“Look, see? See! No belly fat at all, right?”
She moved closer and proudly pushed her stomach toward me.
Her snow-white skin that seemed soft to the touch just by looking.
I unconsciously stared at her toned abdomen that showed no traces of her past chubbiness and the ample chest above it.
“...”
“Hey. You were staring at my boobs just now, weren’t you?”
“What?”
When I froze, feeling guilty, she leaned her upper body forward and planted both hands on the bed.
It was a posture like a quadruped crawling toward me, blatantly accentuating her cleavage.
My eyes were once again drawn to the deep, bottomless valley before me.

“Pffft! Even a nerd’s still a man, huh?”
She giggled with a face full of ridicule.
She was thoroughly messing with me.
Who would have thought I’d hear something like that from a girl I’d never once considered as a woman....
Even though we used to live for teasing each other, this time it really stung my pride.
“It got big because of me earlier too, right? Right? Ah, you looked again!”
“...Bullshit. I was only looking at your stomach so I didn’t even have time to look at your chest.”
“What are you talking about! I told you there’s no belly fat? Are you talking about this tiny fold here? Hey! That’s just skin folding because I’m sitting down!”
Yeah, this is the look that suits her best—getting worked up like a little chihuahua.
Seeing her swing her fists in the air out of frustration made me feel refreshed inside.
“Where is there a woman with absolutely no belly fat! You’re so obviously a guy who’s never dated before? Are you still a virgin?”
“Yeah, I am. So what? Have you dated any guys then?”
I asked and immediately regretted it.
With looks like hers, there must have been plenty of guys hitting on her.
But the answer that came back was the exact opposite of what I expected.
“I haven’t dated anyone either. But it’s not that I couldn’t—I just didn’t because it was too much hassle.”
No way, she’s bullshitting.
I wanted to say, but seeing her like this, it was believable.
A woman with this appearance not having a boyfriend probably meant she had extremely high standards or simply wasn’t interested in dating.
“You probably won’t meet any guys in the future either? If you keep eating everything in sight like today, you’ll turn back into a pig in no time.”
“I can just work out as much as I eat, duh? Argh, seriously!”
Following her old habit from childhood, she made as if to hit my shoulder but pulled her hand back.
Then, as if remembering something, she checked her phone and her already large eyes grew even wider.
“Eek! It’s already this late? I need to go work out!”
Bae Na-eun sprang up from the bed and headed for the front door.
“Hey, I’m leaving! I’ll come over again next time so don’t change the password! If you do, I’ll tell your mom you watch porn in your room every day!”
Uh, that’s not exactly a lie.
More importantly, she was really leaving just like that?
She suddenly barged in, ate all my food, and left whenever she felt like it?
...Yeah. I’d been waiting for her to leave anyway, so good riddance.
I’d have to comfort the emptiness from my plundered pantry with Yoon Seol-ah.
Beep.
After the sound of the door locking, the previously noisy atmosphere became so quiet it felt like a dream.
The sun was still blazing outside, and there was still about an hour and a half before Yena would come back from kindergarten.
That was plenty of time to play with Yoon Seol-ah.
Shall I call her then.... I should send a text.
It wasn’t even that early in the morning, but she still wasn’t ready? What was she doing?
I’ll call her so she’d better pick up.
The phone rang. Riiiing. Riiiing.
“H-hello.”
“You’re not ready yet?”
“There were a lot of orders, so I’ve been working since early morning and couldn’t find the time. I’ll head out soon, so please give me some time.”
“Your attitude isn’t great for someone who’s asking for time, is it?”
“...I’m sorry. I’ll come right away.”
“Fine, I’ll contact you again soon so wait a moment.”
I hung up and called my collaborator.
Yes, Master. How may I assist you?
“Was what Yoon Seol-ah said just now true?”
Yes. After examining her phone and PC, multiple requests for resin art commissions had come in since morning. It appears she spent the time on her main job of crafting handmade items, as she also skipped her daily Mother's Monitoring Group activities.
“Where is she right now?”
She has just boarded a taxi. The destination is Hyeontae Department Store.
“Really? Okay, good.”
The reason Yoon Seol-ah was suddenly heading to Hyeontae Department Store was obviously because of the homework I had included in the message I sent last night.
I had instructed her to prepare a swimsuit before I called her today.
And it had to be one that would please me, and the sexiest one that Yoon Seol-ah herself could think of.
My lips curved into a faint smile as I sent the message.
I wondered what it felt like for her to choose a swimsuit to suit the tastes of the man she had scorned as a beast.
And what exactly she considered the sexiest swimsuit.
With that sense of anticipation, time passed.
Ding-dong. Ding-dong.
Yoon Seol-ah had finally arrived at my house.
