I Died Saving the Villainesses
I died saving the villainesses.
Then, by some twist of fate, I was reborn in someone else’s body…
“I won’t let you go again. Never.”
“Mister… you can’t leave me anymore, okay?”
“…I’ll protect you. …Forever.”
…Something about this feels very, very wrong.
You have died.
However, due to the hidden condition “Guardian of the Villainesses”, your soul has been granted a second chance.
Warning: The world has already begun to deviate from its original route.
The first thing I felt when I opened my eyes was the soft touch of a small hand gripping mine.
A girl no older than ten was staring at me with wide, tear-filled eyes. Her silver hair shimmered like moonlight, and her crimson irises burned with an intensity far too mature for her age.
She was one of the three villainesses from the game Elion.
Lydia von Eisenstein.
In the original story, she would grow up to become a cold-hearted duchess who slaughtered countless people in her quest for revenge. A tragic figure who eventually met her end at the hands of the protagonist.
But right now, she was just a frightened little girl clutching my hand as if it were her only lifeline.
“Mister… you’re awake.”
Her voice trembled. The way she looked at me was filled with desperate longing, the kind that made my chest tighten despite myself.
I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness hit me. This body wasn’t mine. The muscles, the height, even the faint scent clinging to my skin—everything felt foreign.
Who the hell am I right now?
Before I could sort through the confusion, another voice cut through the air like a blade.
“You’re finally conscious.”
A woman with flowing black hair stood in the doorway, arms crossed. Her golden eyes gleamed with a dangerous mix of relief and something darker. She was another villainess—Eleanor de Verdant, the empire’s most notorious mage in the original route.
She walked over slowly, each step deliberate. When she reached the bedside, she leaned down until her face was inches from mine.
“Do you have any idea how long you’ve been out? Three days. I thought you were going to leave us again.”
Her tone was light, but the grip she suddenly had on my wrist told a different story. It was tight enough to bruise.
“I won’t allow that. Not this time.”
The words were spoken softly, almost tenderly, yet they carried the weight of an unbreakable vow.
My mind raced. In the game, these two had been ruthless antagonists. They were supposed to be obstacles for the hero to overcome—beautiful, powerful, and ultimately doomed.
So why were they looking at me like I was their entire world?
A soft giggle came from the corner of the room. The third villainess, a girl with fiery red hair and mischievous emerald eyes, was perched on the windowsill like a cat.
Sylvia Rosenheim. The imperial princess who would one day burn the empire to the ground in her madness.
“You two are so obvious,” she teased, swinging her legs. “Poor Kyle’s barely back and you’re already trying to tie him down. At least let the man breathe.”
Kyle.
That name sent a jolt through me. This body belonged to Kyle, the imperial knight who had once served as their protector before being killed in the original storyline.
But I wasn’t Kyle. I was just an ordinary guy who had played the game, sacrificed everything to save these very girls, and died in the process.
Now I was here. In his body. With all three of them watching me like hawks.
Lydia squeezed my hand tighter. “You promised you wouldn’t leave. You said you’d stay with us forever.”
Eleanor’s golden eyes narrowed. “If you try to run, I’ll burn every road in the empire to ash. Don’t test me.”
Sylvia hopped down from the windowsill and sauntered over, a playful yet possessive smile on her lips. “Aww, don’t scare him. But seriously, mister… if you disappear again, I might just have to lock you in the palace dungeon. For your own safety, of course.”
I stared at the three of them, my mouth dry.
This wasn’t how the story was supposed to go. I had died to give them a chance at happiness, to break them free from their tragic fates. I never expected to wake up and find them all obsessed with me.
Something had gone terribly wrong with this world.
Or maybe… something had gone terribly right.
The threads of fate have been tangled.
The villainesses no longer walk the path of ruin.
⟨ New Route Unlocked: Eternal Obsession ⟩
I swallowed hard.
Yeah. Things were definitely not going according to plan.
