Recap Stream
The news of the Seoul Regional Academy Tournament spread like wildfire the moment the closing ceremony ended, sending shockwaves through the internet.
Office workers who had overcome their Monday blues and made it home could see the portal sites flooded with headlines.
“Did you hear? Sepiron Academy won this year!”
“They’re always going on about generational change, huh? Must feel good to finally break their losing streak.”
“But I heard they got a forfeit loss in the middle school division?”
“Really? What happened?”
Lee Jae-hwan, who had cast a tournament-banned spell, couldn’t escape the public backlash. He and his parents swiftly shut down their SNS accounts in a desperate damage-control move, and just when it seemed the controversy might die down...
A 15-second clip uploaded to VTube by an anonymous account reignited the flames. The conversation among Alteer Academy students, casually admitting they all knew about it beforehand, leaked out. With NoName holding the full recording as leverage, they couldn’t risk issuing a statement that might provoke her. As the pressure mounted, they posted a public apology declaring they’d never participate in the tournament again and vanished.
But that scandal was nothing compared to the bombshell that NoName had single-handedly crushed the entire middle school division.
“She beat the third-years? Seniors a grade above her?”
“No! She beat 15-year-old eighth graders! That’s a seven-year gap!”
“Come on, don’t bullshit. She looked like a total baby on TV—that can’t be real.”
“Here, look.”
“Korea Now Boasts a ‘NoName’! The Child Demon King’s 1v5 Descent!”

It sounded like a fairy tale. Yet over four million people had already watched it.
An eight-year-old wielding high-difficulty magic? Theoretically possible, with enough intelligence to grasp the world.
An eight-year-old manifesting aura and executing martial arts? Also theoretically possible, with a blessed Aura Heart.
But when those low-probability traits stack up in one girl, people call it impossible. No wonder every community was ablaze with talk of NoName.

* * *
The academy tournament wrapped up around sunset at 6 p.m., after interviews and the closing ceremony. I passed out in the passenger seat and finally made it home after a week away.
Professor Cheon had prepared hanger steak for dinner, seasoned with butter, thyme, and garlic. The fresh piney herb aroma blended perfectly with the rosy meat, melting away any vegan guilt—it was that good. As I savored the joy of calories, I didn’t notice how unusually quiet the professor was that day. I just figured he was tired from sitting in one place so long.
“Nami. Come sit here.”
Kids sense ominous vibes way sharper, they say. My body’s the same. And so began a two-hour lecture.
It started with questions about my usual mood, moved to scolding me for scratching my arm during the matches, and preached about cherishing our bodies. Round and round again. No matter that I’d taken down fifteen teens outside—the only thing I could say here was “Yes, yes.”
Halfway through, feeling unjust, I tried rebutting, but that backfired, extending the sermon by 30 minutes each time, like karaoke overtime. Just as emotions were about to boil over, he sent me to the “Thinking Room.”
Just my plain room, nothing special.
With nothing better to do, I turned on the stream out of habit. The academy tournament tag was still hot, so viewers flooded in instantly. I propped my phone on the bed stand, opened the desk drawer.
Slide—
To cool my flushed face, I grabbed a soothing aloe mask and slapped it on.
“Phew.”
Then dove into the fluffy bed. The moment the stream went live, my masked face filled the screen.
“It’s kinda burdensome now that it’s on. Should I turn off cam?”
“Someone requested it, so I’ll do a quick tournament recap. Where to start... Ah.”
I pulled the hologram to bedside and showed photos from the hotel.
“This is Hotel Aquila where we stayed. Bed was way fluffier than expected—slept like a rock.”
Bed fluffiness or my all-nighter? Who knows. Swiping sideways, endless pics—mostly I Ha-ru and Kim Han-gyeol snapping away.
“This is the unmanned soft-serve machine in the hotel basement. Oh, what’s this.”
A pic of me with ice cream smeared on my mouth—I skipped it fast. When was this taken?
I like taking pics, not being in them.
“Me subbing for third-years? The original rep got food poisoning from ice cream. Post-rehearsal, security killed photos, so that’s all I got. Let’s review rehearsal.”
Yoon Si-hu’s rehearsal match as elementary second-year rep. I barely watched, stuck in a closet for interviews.
Watched Yoon Si-hu’s match on VTube with viewers, pointing out flaws.
“Liquid helium transmutation solid, but rapid cooling lacking. Called Stirling cycle—higher operating pressure boosts efficiency big time. Si-hu practiced, but old habits linger.”
“Some banned spells in matches—opponents broke rules, forfeit. Didn’t know till end. Slept through rules briefing.”
Finally, my match. Tons to say—viewers need my breakdown for judgments and moments.
“Lots wondering how I tanked ice hammer direct hit unscathed.”
“Spoiler: Wrote counter-spell here too. Ice magic counters? Most think heat-melt. I sublimated—like dry ice. Counters don’t need 1:1.”
└ Lololololol
└ Tibet Dalai Lama at 10ish?
└ NoNami life speedrun ;;
“Resonant frequency tweak. Basic resonance amps vibes for max impact—casters explained well.”
When first two dropped and Jo Su-yeon/Lee Jae-hwan entered, chat sharpened. Cheaters, bad reps.
I focused purely on the fight, no player judgment.
“Longinus Spear. Double-overlap chain circle? Spot these street traps later—follow-ups gut you blink-fast.”
“Then Adella 20-chain for promo. Solid 1st-circle power—great potential. Kendo folks, try it.”
Tossed mask, checked time.

Viewers over 30k. Restricted to subs, still buzzing. Paused vid, got serious.
“Why ‘Thinking Room’? Got scolded by Dad after home. Yeah, that reason. Not mad, just worried. We’re both bad at talking, so thinking time first, talk later.”
My take: Magic-made stuff, no tetanus, regen heals pain instant—what’s issue? Plus, nerve-interference therapy known here too.
“Like a shot or blood draw. Right?”
Brain not enough for prof—crowdsource help.
Group smarts betrayed me hard.
“No one on my side...”
I puffed my cheeks, turned from cam, and flopped over.
