148 - Assassination Done
"Nah, I can play World of Arceria sometimes, what's the big deal? This game's so much fun."
Han Yong-cheol ignored the chat scrolling by at a frightening speed and closed the game. As Letterbox's streamer on Twitch, broadcasting various games with a massive 500,000-follower fanbase, he usually thrived on clashing back fiercely when viewers poked at him. But this topic wasn't one to touch yet.
It was as sudden as they said. Wearsoft had announced a story mode revamp for World of Arceria Nightmare recently, but he'd returned to ranked a week earlier. No balance patch, not season start or end, no new class—sharp-eyed viewers had already caught on.
"I'm telling you, I might not even do Ddagabdae this time? Just bored, that's all. Don't you get sick of pork cutlet or pork stir-fry every day?"
└ Undefeated Achievement Collector lolololol
As the viewers' sharp deductions went, Yong-cheol had already committed to 2051 Season 2 Ddagabdae. But until the participant reveal on May 17, he'd been asked to avoid mentioning it, so he had to divert attention somehow. Reacting one by one was amateur hour. He held his breath, waiting for them to bite something else.
A highlight clip from a donating viewer's player. A woman with flowing golden hair mercilessly shoved a silver-armored knight off a cliff, broadcast on screen.
"Cliff-killing looks fun? Maybe do that for next WoA content?"
Number2HanYongcheol donated 10,000 won!
Yong-cheol's eyes shifted back to the video. Clearly effort put into the custom character—proportions and looks top-tier. Spotting the chat's demand for truth shifting to praising the female custom, he snapped his fingers. Perfect.
"Damn, she's pretty. If she existed IRL, forget Ddagabdae. I'd do We Got Married. Hell, collab drinks after."
Diversion complete. Chat would cool off once the video ended. Easy for a 7-year vet who knew streaming inside out. Known for hating and avoiding We Got Married content most, longtime viewers would get it: drop me, fangirl her.
But the video ended, and instead of dying down, comments exploded three, five times faster. Yong-cheol looked flustered.
"Why why? Did I say something wrong? What the hell!"
Frowning, he jammed his finger into the raging chat to pause it.
"Gah!"
Realizing the plummet instantly, Yong-cheol killed the camera.
Wicked donated 5,000 won!
Even with black screen, viewers spammed "lololol" in relentless assault.
"You crazy bastard! No other streamer mentions during games, ban! You knew and sent it? And you're my editor!"
The donor's nick HanYongcheol'sMissingTailbone being his editor might've lowered guard. Never dreamed the video star was a streamer, thought regular player. Calming his pounding heart, he recomposed and faced the camera.
"Agh, please no more of this, kids, you're shaving years off my life. You all know I didn't mean it, right? And don't export to other places. Got it?"
"Fuck, banning everyone who just donated. Go face the wall for 10 mins. Editor, no bonus next holiday if you keep this shit?"
Midwinter donated 5,000 won!
"No, not that bad! I'm early 30s, 14-year-old daughter means I knocked up a high schooler! Agh!"
After the chaos, switching category from WoA to Just Chatting, Yong-cheol sensed bad vibes. Unlike game streams, JC allowed free other-streamer mentions—seals off.
Thinking they'd finally caught him good, they wouldn't let go easy. As malicious donations dazed him, cash register chimes rang everywhere. Big donations.
"Haa... why's your nick like that? Would've banned if not 100k."
In the video, Adella snatched NoName's marker, annoyed by the chalkboard noise.
"This the same person as before? That NoName?"
"#1? For real? Damn, more impressive than looks. And 14 official? She said it herself?"
└ Academy genius
└ Whoa got the whole world unfair life
Unique streamers generate content just by existing. Yong-cheol's viewers started sharing their highlight clips.
About 15 seconds of NoName rattling off viewer nicks. Speeded up, so real-time over a minute. Cute voice aside, nothing special—viewers explained.
"For real? Memorized all those nicks?"
└ Chill (while severing limbs)
└ Physical good but placement shows ops unknown
"Yeah, even in tourney she'd do Fall War not Ddagabdae. Balance mismatch."
Yong-cheol would drop WoA post-tourney for Lost Rainbow or FIFA anyway. Not WoA expert, but her type flies high on talent. Silently offering condolences to masters/challengers who'd face her as enemy, he refocused.
Jimin1039 donated 1,000 won!
NoName's stream now had more WoA inflows than LoL. Brief joy at normalized schedule after long hiatus—then lament as she ditched post-placement WoA account for LoL only.
[R - La Asteria Shuhat Phylum]
The last survivor of the fox-eared Selena race, Asteria, finished the battlefield scattering star shards. Her blood-red hair slowly reverted to silver-white. The sole blue-furred cat surviving meteor shower clung to life.
But no kill. Drawing her long katana, Asteria poked the cat's legs, hips, etc., toying without mercy—dragging time better messed respawns than quick kill.
"Spare me plz."
"Rock paper scissors?"
"Can't do anything but rock in this form!"
"Rock... paper... scissors. I win."
"You fucking psycho?"
Prepping next dragon, Nami hurried to base.
SongSongNadak donated 1,000 won!
"Huh? I'm doing WoA too."
"Was that supposed to be secret?"
One of 36 veiled participants unveiled.
