117 - Angel
Here's a full roundup of all the twist scenes so you don't get blindsided by affinity quests where you build favor just to get backstabbed. Levels are based less on story importance and more on how obscure they are—higher means fewer people know, so no misconceptions pls. lv1. Student Council President's Betrayal. Any WoA player knows this scumbag hero by now. He shows up to save your ass up to three times when you're about to die, which is handy for grinding traits, but if you went in expecting cozy healing vibes? That backstab hits like a truck.

But maybe 'cause he's peak looks and alpha male material, Twitter's "that crowd" turned him into prime BL fodder. He's been paying for it for years now. lv5. Giselle Phoenix's Past. This is where even tough criers probably shed a tear. Academy's eternal troublemaker Giselle-chan always beaming bright? Turns out she's one of the phoenix's countless backup bodies, enrolling just to fulfill her dying wish of making a friend before kicking the bucket ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ. All the idiots calling her a dumbass character? Silenced. She swept GOTY and Best Storytelling awards.
lv10. Alphonse Schipot's Swordsmanship. Dropped a full year after launch by VTuber Mr. Why. If Giselle was dumbass cosplay, Alphonse is the real deal. Over 20 side quests just to barely learn his sword arts—and they're trash tier, so zero interest. But there's one spot where his defense shines:
[Alphonse's swordsmanship blocking Mephistopheles' finisher.gif]
Perfectly no-damage blocks the final boss's ultimate from range! Kinda WTF setup, but it became a beacon for noobs struggling on normal mode. GOAT for onboarding. ... lv444. Nocturne Nailingk and Arseria Forest. Protagonist's an elf, right? So why no other elves in the story? Enter: our elf ally, only as a Nightmare enemy. Handles laurel tree traits like a pro, summons random dolls—nightmare boss for real. But here's Wearsoft squeezing us: no such thing as elves. Long-eared humans were all empire experiment slaves!
Surprisingly foreshadowed in main story too—not forced. Check Valrum Venaons' library slave ledger you rescue: all doomed for Arseria "skewers." But buried under later twists, so Nocturne's just the cute one-tool wonder now. lv777. Daniel and Repi 2. Why again? Shut up and read. Main story shock: Daniel's Repi's dad. But lore nerds like us wouldn't let it rest. Age gap analysis showed 16 years—writer got 5700-char essays on incest shipping lol. Even hit 9 o'clock news. Nightmare launch ties it all: Repi ain't his mom, she's his grandma.
Repi was the excommunicated former saintess, birthed Daniel, lived happily rural till hubby died and she got terminal illness. Empire promises cure, forces double-agent. She loses memories, polymorphed to holy kingdom—why empire crossed for 10 years with zero Yggdrasil leaks? Daniel blocked it all. Empire's "watchdog" was their own spy. Bystander Daniel's kinda root of all evil too. lv1000. Adella. Current WoA gallery lord, GOAT by existing. Why I wrote this. In betrayal-riddled Nightmare world, sole NPC who chooses to sacrifice for protag. Unlike some game's cat, Adella stays loyal to the end. Loading screen flashbacks? Bet no one's seen 'em once without rewatching forever. Personally, her arc nails pleb psychology surrounded by geniuses.
Bonus) Rushed edit on wild claim: Part 4, Gestalt's Mephistopheles sacrifice = Adella theory canonized. [NoName stream reveal: 'Nyamster Call' VIP seats.mp4] Turns out she's a genius too...
“Hey, sis... sis?”
Adella, buried in her sleeping bag, turned and called out the name. In battle, her back had felt like a mountain, but from here, she looked every bit the little girl. Asleep? Adella got up to check and padded lightly to the other side.
The elf—no, human—woman's chest rose and fell irregularly.
She's wide awake.
As Adella wriggled deliberately into her sleeping bag, the woman's eyes finally snapped open late.
“Morning, kitty.”
“It's Adella! A. Del. La! Time to remember by now, nyaa?”
“Right, Adella. My memory's not great.”
“This sleep-talk too?”
“Dunno.”
Adella puffed her cheeks. Staring into those quiet, blinking eyes, she slowly opened her mouth.
“What you said last night... kept me up. Couldn't stop thinking.”
“What'd I say?”
“Arseria Forest. What the empire did to you, Yggdrasil's truth, demon worshippers' plot, all that...”
“I see.”
“That's it? You're extra bland tonight.”
That calm acceptance sparked lightning in Adella's eyes. Hot emotions surged like waves, exploding as she kicked her legs in the bag and thrashed.
“That's not how you react! You cry your eyes out or grind your teeth in rage! Doesn't it hit you? If we meet Daniel tomorrow, you really gonna just let him walk?”
Adella couldn't comprehend. Daniel, in the delegation, turned a blind eye to the empire's horrors. He'd shredded secret rescue pleas from deprogrammed elves. Unforgivable. Letting that scum go? No way.
“It's not my call. I got here thanks to the angel, remember.”
The woman had called the daytime possessor of her body “angel.” Familiar concept to Adella—opposite of demons, even without theology smarts.
“But calling it an angel feels...”
A bit brutal... She trailed off. What if “that angel” remembered?
Frustration choked her; Adella gulped deep forest air, damp and leafy, tickling her nose.
“Fine, I'll convince the angel myself tomorrow. Happy now, nyaa?”
Scary, sure—but life'saver too. Saved her skin sixteen times. No way it'd turn killer now. Steel resolve, Adella huffed.
“The angel's gotta be vegetarian...! No way it eats people, nyaa!”
“Pfft!”
“Whoa, first time seeing you laugh.”
“Yeah? You're hilarious, that's why.”
“Ahem...! You look stunning when you smile. Like, prettier than your usual pretty—way prettier.”
“Thanks, Adella. But it's stuffy—back to your bag? Sounds like big fights tomorrow. Early bed.”
Regret trailing, the catgirl emerged like a chrysalis, dragged her bag, and snuggled beside the woman.
“What's the angel like?”
Sudden question; Adella hemmed and hawed. What was NoName like?
“Just... good for no reason. Sounds weird, but tons of reasons to like her, yet even without, she's good.”
“So angelic.”
“Love daytime sis, love nighttime sis too.”
“How so?”
“Well, NoName sis... even if I tickle her pits like this.”
“Eek!” The woman twitched at the sneak attack.
“Doesn't react...!”
“Not daytime?”
“Daytime sis is stoic. Barely any emotions.”
“Huh. Weird.”
“But so caring. Today my ears got hurt; she disinfected 'em walking here, carried all the heavy stuff so I wouldn't sweat. Too shy to thank her—can you pass it on?”
“Sadly no...”
“Fine, tomorrow or whenever. Time aplenty.”
“...”
“Sleep...?”
Regular breaths now. Golden hair fluttered in the breeze onto her face. Achoo—Adella sneezed, burying in her bag.
Body aching more than ever, but spirit fuller. Hoping these nights lasted...
Licking her lips, Adella's eyes drifted shut.
Next morning. Polishing her gleaming shoulder plate as a mirror, fixing messy hair, a question popped up. Calling Adella:
“Weird thing: why keep calling me sis? Thought you hated that.”
“Ha! You told me to, nyaa! Blew my mind.”
“Me? When?”
“Four nights ago... wait, three dawns back? Anyway then! And yesterday.”
“What'd I say?”
“Th-that...! Forget it! You're messing with me on purpose!”
She really didn't know. Never pondered. If story skips, how do NPCs perceive you? Like what Pokémon do in balls—curiosity gnawed.
Adella fanned her beet-red face. Being called sis... how long since? First life man, zero. Second, princess—titles over names, epithets late teens. Third... cute Aurora girl came to mind. Wonder what she's up to post-game. Gotta message.
This body mirrored sixteen-year-old her, yet Adella saw no age gap issue. Felt slighted. That old-looking?
Adella did look young for her age, true.
Long trek by reed-choked riverbank to massive gates. Trumpet-blowing angel statues flanked, weathered cracks revealing non-white glow.
Creeeak—hand near, gates scraped open auto.
Statues' eyes locked; trumpets dropped, shattered.
“Eeeeek!” Adella's fur bristled, clinging tight.
“Don't freak— just statues.”
“I-I wasn't! Knew they were statues!”
No time—lasers from eyes.
“Not just statues!”
Shells shed; bat wings sprouted.
Fallen Angel · Sariel of Death (0/1)
Fallen Angel · Ramiel of Illusions (0/1)
One-winged fallen angels floated. Left-wing: Sariel. Right: Ramiel. Wondered if they helicoptered to balance—but battle erased it.
Bold Adella stepped front, finger-pointing statues.
“You ain't scary at all! We've got a real angel!”
“Angel? Who?”
Special summon I missed? Checked wiki fully.
“Sis, duh!”
“Me?”
Pointing myself in shock.
