I Think I’m Getting Hard
Red horns, red hair, and a longsword that radiated such intense killing intent it was palpable just by looking at it.
Her appearance and physical capabilities were far from human.
And yet, it was ambiguous to simply label her a demon.
-Clang!
“A pathetic bitch trying to launch a sneak attack.”
“I am merely eliminating a monster that wanders about without fear.”
With those words, she pointed the tip of her longsword at my sister.
Her tone was far too certain, labeling my sister—who was currently in human form—as a demon.
“What is that supposed to mean? Calling a person a monster out of the blue. Isn’t that a bit much?”
“There is no way a human could possess such filthy demonic energy.”
“You sure have a big mouth for someone so full of it.”
“And there is no way a human could have parried my surprise attack so effortlessly.”
“You’ve got quite the ego, don’t you?”
My sister helped me up after I’d fallen and pulled me behind her.
“Looking at the surface, aren’t you the monster? You’ve got horns.”
“Sister, she’s not a monster. She’s a human.”
“Runi, a human?”
“Yes, she’s really a human.”
While my sister faced off against her after the sudden ambush, I focused on gauging the woman’s demonic energy.
The energy flowing through her body and coating her blade was quite dense, so it didn’t take long.
It was the same flow of energy that I possessed, and it was the same as the energy of the citizens who had hurriedly retreated into their respective spaces to hide.
“She really is a human, but… uh…”
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s a little different.”
While most of it followed the same flow as human energy, there were irregular pulses that occurred every so often.
The truly strange part was that every time the energy flowed in an irregular pattern, it displayed a completely different wavelength.
It was like a rag stitched together from various scraps of fabric with different colors and textures.
“It seems you’ve fallen for the whispers of a monster.”
“Excuse me? Are you talking about me?”
“I shall bring you to your senses soon.”
When my sister is in her human form, one can only feel a very small amount of demonic energy from her.
That was why the past me, who didn’t know she was a demon at all, understood why no Soul Mark appeared on her hand.
If the amount of energy one possesses is so small it’s practically non-existent, no mark appears, after all.
But this woman knew from the very beginning that my sister wasn’t human.
I suppose that just goes to show how extraordinary she is.
“You see this, right?”
Just before she could rush in with her sword raised, I held up the back of my hand to show her.
“A Soul Mark?”
“Yes. This being beside me isn’t a monster; she’s my familiar.”
“And she’s also my wife.”
-Squeeze!
“Ugh… Sister, is this really the right time for that?”
I was just trying to clarify that she was a familiar, but my sister had to go and take it a step further.
“A-anyway… you see that she isn’t a monster, right?”
“You heard her, didn’t you? So put that sword away. You’re scaring me to death.”
Once I even showed her the Soul Mark, the woman slid her longsword back into its sheath.
“This is a familiar?”
“‘This?’ Look at the way you talk. Do you really want to die?”
“I do not shy away from a fight that is brought to me.”
At my sister’s sharp retort—she never knows how to let things slide—the woman gripped the hilt of her sword once more.
“Hey!”
-Smack!
I gave my sister’s shoulder a sharp slap.
“Ouch… Runi, why are you only scolding me? She’s the problem too.”
“I can’t exactly walk over there and hit her, can I?”
Besides, if I hit her, I feel like that sword would end up pointed at my throat.
Holding my sister’s hand, I walked toward the woman.
“I’m Runisia Tiela. And this is my familiar, and also a close sister of mine…”
“Wife.”
“Ahem, her name is Belial Astharot.”
“A curious relationship, it seems.”
“And what might your name be?”
“Androph Rebellion.”
The moment I heard her name, my thoughts immediately connected the dots.
Having the surname Rebellion meant she was blood-related to the King of Rebellion.
“I am the daughter of Acrasia Rebellion, whom you just met.”
“What…?”
“A daughter? You?”
Given that she shared the same surname as the King of Rebellion and looked quite young, it was easy enough to assume she was his daughter.
But her tone when mentioning the King, her father, was not that of a princess.
It was quite sharp, and she seemed to hold the King in low regard.
“Let’s go inside to talk.”
She guided us to an empty building.
We sat facing each other and continued our conversation.
“Was your sudden attack because you thought my familiar was a monster?”
“I thought a monster had raided the castle.”
“You, you’ve been influenced by monsters, haven’t you?”
My sister’s sudden question.
At this, the woman glared at my sister with a look of extreme wariness.
“Your flow of demonic energy is so strange. The roots are definitely human, yes. But the contents are not.”
“Sister, what do you mean by being influenced by monsters?”
“Runi, how did monsters come to be?”
“Well… they were born under the influence of human demonic energy.”
“The opposite can also exist.”
Does that mean a monster’s demonic energy can influence a human?
“You must have killed a lot of monsters over a long period of time.”
“It is the only way to reclaim Rebellion.”
“You’ve been influenced by killing countless monsters for a long time.”
“Then that appearance… and that strange wavelength of energy…”
“Yes, it’s all because you’ve been influenced by the energy of monsters.”
The countless questions in my head were solved in an instant. But at the same time, a new question arose.
If she were a princess, the daughter of a King, she would never have learned how to kill monsters.
The fact that she had killed enough monsters to be influenced by their energy for so long meant she possessed the skill to match.
I wanted to ask about that, but—
“For what purpose have you set foot in Rebellion?”
I didn’t think I would get the answer I wanted.
“We’re here to gather information on monsters.”
“The reason?”
“To gain real-world experience and become stronger than I am now.”
“Dying early seems to be your life goal, then.”
“Shut up and give us the monster intel. It’ll obviously help with the work you’re doing.”
My sister asked in a sharp tone again, so I tugged on her sleeve.
-Creak!
Soon after, she stood up and looked down at us.
“I have no need for the help of outsiders.”
Leaving those words behind, she vanished in the blink of an eye.
“And to think… that was a human.”
“Her temper is truly foul.”
At that, I looked at my sister’s face.
“Why are you looking at me like that, Runi? Do you want to have sex with me? Shall we do it here?”
I had only looked at her, but she immediately transformed into her demonic state and lifted her skirt.
As my eyes landed on her limp phallus, I hurriedly turned my head away.
I was just trying to say, ‘Is that something you should be saying?’
Why is the situation suddenly spiraling like this?
“I guess not. What a shame.”
“A-anyway… we’ll have to find the monsters ourselves.”
“There are countless types of monsters near Rebellion. You should be able to find them easily if you go outside the border.”
I stood up with my sister and began walking to head outside the border.
“Runi.”
Just as my sister had said, not long after we stepped outside the border, a few monsters were approaching us.
“Wait just a moment. Sister will…”
“No, Sister.”
I grabbed my sister’s wrist as she tried to step forward, and I walked out instead.
“I’ll take them on.”
This journey is for the sake of my growth.
If I keep being protected by my sister, it’s the same as wasting my time.
-Whoosh!
I created a spear out of demonic energy and gripped it firmly.
The moment to finally use the spear techniques I had learned from my father since I was young had arrived.
“Grrr… Raaargh!”
The monsters began to rush at us all at once, quite fiercely.
As the distance closed, one monster slowly lunged forward.
“Hup…!”
-Slash!
I swung the spear wide and sliced off the head of the monster that had lunged forward.
At the same time, blood sprayed from the monster’s head.
“Ugh…”
As the blood sprayed and the interior revealed behind it came into view, my body stiffened for a moment.
“Raaargh!”
Naturally, it wasn’t a monster that would wait patiently for that.
“Ugh…!”
-Thwack!
As I squeezed my eyes shut and sank to the ground, a heavy, tearing sound echoed.
I opened my eyes slowly.
All the monsters that had been rushing at me so fiercely had been pierced by black thorns that had erupted from the ground, leaving them as corpses.
“Runi, are you okay?”
This was, of course, my sister’s doing.
“Ah, yes…”
Unlike my bold start, the result was truly pathetic.
To be shaken by the sight of the interior revealed through a split head.
-Tighten!
Strength slowly returned to the hand gripping the spear, and the same went for my lips.
“Mmm…”
“Mmph?!”
Just as I was staring at the ground, lost in a sea of thoughts, my sister’s lips covered mine.
The tension in my lips slowly faded.
“Slurp…”
As she pulled her lips away, her rough tongue licked lightly across mine.
“Runi, it’s okay. You did well enough. This is your first time hunting monsters, after all.”
“Y-yes…”
“Just taking one down in a single strike is amazing.”
The hand stroking my hair offered me comfort, but not all of my negative emotions had settled.
“It’s different from what you imagined, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it is.”
“You’ll see more cruel sights in the future, and you’ll see stronger monsters.”
“Yes… I know.”
“For now, let’s focus on getting used to it. There’s no need to rush.”
My sister continued to soothe me with sincere comfort.
I thought that with my current skills, I could easily handle a few monsters, but reality held variables I hadn’t considered.
“If you keep sulking like that, I’m going to give you an injection.”
“An injection…?”
“Yes, Sister’s special injection.”
Even though my sister hadn’t made any particular gesture, my gaze drifted downward.
“Oh my, you understood right away this time?”
“S-stop… let’s go hunt more monsters. While I’m determined… I should do as much as I can.”
“How cute. Haa… I think I’m getting hard.”
“Don’t! We’re outside!”
“We’ve already had sex outside before, haven’t we?”
“Shut up!”
My sister is someone who makes me incredibly dizzy just by being beside me, but.
“Sister, thank you.”
“It’s nothing.”
Because I have her, I feel like I can grow even more.
