First Greeting
The six years of elementary school and six years of middle school were finally over. A high school was a place where legal adults, nineteen and older, attended classes. And Gangan High, the largest high school in the area, was ridiculously huge. No surprise, considering it was the school the protagonist of a romantic comedy would attend.
'They say the dumber a woman is, the bigger her tits are...' Something about all the nutrients that should go to the brain heading straight for the chest instead. Why the hell was I thinking about that right now? It just popped into my head because I said the school was huge. Besides, there was a girl standing right in front of me who seemed to prove the opposite was also true.
Our dear student council president, with her tiny A-cup mosquito bites that looked pathetic next to Jeong Sua's massive rack. Had she dumped all her stats into her head? She did have breasts, technically, but they didn't look like they'd be any fun to grab, suck, or bite. While I was busy pounding Sua, she could just stare at the wall and furiously rub her nipples for all I cared.
Anyway, Cha Yeri and I were getting ready to step up onto the stage.
“We will now hear congratulatory remarks from the student council president and vice president.”
Clap clap clap!
I followed behind Cha Yeri. The wooden stairs creaked under our weight, and every single freshman’s eyes snapped toward me. Teachers, faculty, club officers, even the upperclassmen watching from the second floor—they were all staring at me.
'Kyah~ This feeling of being the center of attention. This spot suits my personality perfectly.'
Among the upperclassmen, some were snickering at me while others frowned. But the gaze that excited me the most belonged to…
Jeong Sua and Kang Suho, both staring with shocked expressions.
They must have been really surprised to see me walk up onto the stage. That was exactly why I hadn’t told either of them I was the vice president until now. So Sua makes that kind of face when she’s shocked. Fuck, that’s hot.
I barely managed to suppress the urge to smile and wave at her. Instead, I gave her a quick greeting with my eyes only before looking away.
“…And finally, this is a place that opens a new chapter in the lives of all of you who have just become adults. As your seniors who walked this path a little earlier, I will always send you my heartfelt support on your journey. Work hard and enjoy a wonderful high school life.”
The moment Cha Yeri finished her speech, applause erupted from the students. It was a clean, elegant address, exactly what you’d expect from the president who held the respect and admiration of so many.
“Next, we will hear from the vice president.”
Cha Yeri brought her hands together neatly in front of her navel and bowed. Her face radiated confidence and grace. Once again, countless students would look at her with even greater respect. Most of the male students in particular seemed completely enchanted by her appearance.
Just thinking about working alongside a girl like her in the student council already has me thrilled.
“Next, we will hear from the vice president.”
“Ahem.”
I sauntered up onto the stage with a sloppy posture. I unnecessarily tapped the microphone that was already working fine. A few kids who knew me well were already struggling to hold back their laughter.
These bastards… they know me way too well.
I glanced sideways at Cha Yeri. The instant our eyes met, her face filled with anxiety. I jerked my chin toward the front and spoke.
“Hey, you sons of bitches! I’m the new vice president, motherfuckers!”
“Wooooooah!”
“Pfft—bwahahahaha!”
The loud cheers from the Ijin-hoe members on the second floor mixed with the bewildered faces of the freshmen and the laughter of a few upperclassmen who found the whole thing hilarious. In an instant, the entrance ceremony was completely destroyed.
The heated atmosphere gradually cooled, and the entrance ceremony continued in its proper order under the guidance of the teacher serving as emcee. Once I stepped down from the stage, I came face to face with a frowning Cha Yeri.
“Didn’t you say… you had prepared a speech?”
She seemed genuinely displeased that I hadn’t given a proper address. I shoved my hands into my pockets, stood with my legs apart, and faced her.
“Didn’t you say… you had prepared a speech?”
“This was the speech I prepared.”
“That was not a speech. Vice President.”
I shrugged at her words and tried to leave the auditorium. Cha Yeri immediately followed and grabbed my arm.
'She dares to grab me?'
Frowning, I half-closed my eyes and glared at her. Even under my fierce gaze, Cha Yeri didn’t look away. Was this the power of a heroine? She really was the kind of woman who made me want to claim her so badly it drove me insane.
“What do you want?”
“Where are you going right now?”
Because the sight of you getting angry is so fucking hot I was about to head to the bathroom and jerk off once.
I calmed my pounding heart and answered curtly.
“I’m going back to my class. I’m done with my business here.”
“Let’s settle this properly before you go.”
“Settle what?”
“You are completely unfit for the position of vice president. Step down while I’m still asking nicely.”
The usually dignified expression on Cha Yeri’s face was now filled with pure disgust toward me. That actually caught me off guard. I hadn’t expected her refined personality to crumble so easily after just one of my antics. Part of me desperately wanted to tell her I’d back off if she let me fuck her once.
“Where did all your polite speech go?”
“I only use polite speech with people who deserve my respect.”
According to her character description, Cha Yeri was supposed to be so elegant and refined that she always spoke politely. But what was this in front of me? Far from the dignified student council president, she was overflowing with hostility toward me. In other words, this was proof that she had acknowledged me as someone special.
“So I’m not one of those people?”
“You already know the answer.”
“Saying it so bluntly hurts my feelings…”
I scratched the back of my head, pretending to look hurt.
“I know you’re not actually hurt.”
But she saw right through me.
“Even if you say that, Miss President, I still respect you. I’ll keep using polite speech. That’s fine, right?”
“Th-that’s up to you… Anyway, resign from the vice president position.”
Even after she openly showed hostility, it hadn’t produced much result. On the contrary, when I casually said I respected her, she seemed slightly flustered. I’d expected her to get angry, but this was unexpected. Still, that was exactly what I wanted. Showing unexpected sides even while acting like a bad guy. By leaving an impression of unpredictability even in trivial moments, I etched myself deeper into her mind. I wanted to make myself linger in her thoughts so much that she wouldn’t even glance at the protagonist.
“Right now, you’re thinking that I ruined the dignity of the student council and the atmosphere of the entrance ceremony, aren’t you?”
“That’s right.”
“I admit it. It’s possible that I damaged the dignity expected of a vice president.”
“Then resign—”
“How.ever. You only know one thing and not the other.”
I raised a finger, cutting off Cha Yeri before she could finish. No matter how much of a heroine she was, I couldn’t stand hearing that “resign” line come out like some kind of macro anymore. I sneered and continued.
“On the contrary, I believe I actually increased the students’ focus on the entrance ceremony.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You saw it too, Miss President. All the students who were dozing off during that boring ceremony. Some of them were even sleeping while you were giving your speech.”
A congratulatory address for the incoming students. But if the freshmen were too bored to concentrate and were falling asleep, what was the point of the speech?
“How about now? There isn’t a single student sleeping.”
Cha Yeri looked around. Sure enough, the number of sleeping students had noticeably decreased compared to before.
“So what you’re saying is… you did that to wake the students up and make them pay attention to the ceremony?”
“Yes.”
“That’s a stretch. It’s obvious you’re just forcing justification onto your own ridiculous behavior. Besides, there are plenty of other ways to get students to focus without using such a method.”
Hearing that, I laughed, thinking I’d been caught. Cha Yeri let out a deep sigh with a fed-up expression.
“Sighing brings bad luck, you know. Why don’t you smile for once?”
I reached out to grab the corners of her mouth and pull them up into a smile.
Slap!
She smacked the back of my hand. Damn, that actually stung. Oh well. She was going to be making an ahegao double peace sign sooner or later anyway. Might as well get some practice in.
“Just what kind of person are you…”
At this point, it seemed Cha Yeri was dying of curiosity about who I really was. Then I should tell her. Exactly what kind of value my existence held for her.
“Try thinking about it positively. The idea that the student council has to be strict and rigid is outdated.”
“The student council is the representative body of the students. It must maintain strict standards.”
“Then you can be strict, Miss President. I’ll just do things my own way. Wouldn’t that be more fun for you too?”
“Fun?”
Just as I expected, she reacted. Your life is boring too, isn’t it? If things continue like this, you’ll spend your entire life in that strict family, marry whoever your parents choose for you, and live like an elegant, refined flower forever. Every time you imagine that future, you feel a sense of emptiness, don’t you?
'I’m the only one who can understand you.'
I made a vow. I would become a ray of light in her boring life.
“I’m talking about your fun. I don’t know about you, but even if someone offered me a fortune, I couldn’t live like you, Miss President. It seems like it would feel way too boring.”
“……?!”
When her eyes widened slightly, I lifted the corner of my mouth. It looked like she was shocked that words that seemed to speak directly to her heart had come out of my mouth.
“Most people would listen to anything our great president says, but as you live life, you’ll run into free-spirited people like me. Think of it as practice for how to deal with them and let’s spend some time together. Yeah? It’ll definitely be fun.”
I held out my hand as a gesture of wanting to get along. Cha Yeri hesitated at my sweet temptation.
“Why… should I? The student council is not a game. I have no reason to work with you just for the sake of fun.”
She had almost given in. Too bad. But it was clear she was interested.
“Then just think of it as raising a troublemaker by your side. Mom.”
“Don’t call me that. Kang Ijin.”
“If you take my hand, I’ll stop. You already know that no matter how stubborn you are here, I’m not leaving. Let’s get along nicely, yeah?”
I spoke as if daring her to try and stop me. No matter what she said, there was absolutely no way Cha Yeri could force me out of the vice president position. If she used her family’s power… it might be possible, but if it got exposed, it could deal a serious blow to her household. Cha Yeri would never do something like that. She wasn’t that kind of woman.
“For now, I’ll put this matter on hold. Just so you know, I don’t need anything like ‘fun’ in my student council.”
“It’ll be our student council, Miss President.”
“If you can’t even watch your words… Tsk.”
Cha Yeri muttered and left first. It would’ve been nice if I could have grabbed her wrist, but oh well. I clicked my tongue in disappointment, scratched the back of my head, and headed back to my classroom.
