Conscious of Me as a Man
Hey, Lee Yena. Let’s have lunch together.
“Kek… Kang Ijin…”
“What’s with that reaction? You look like you just saw a monster. You wanna die?”
Lee Yena was walking carefully, holding the lunchbox she’d brought, her face the picture of someone who’d witnessed something she shouldn’t have. What a rude bitch. Her porn addiction was making me horny as hell. This was the same maid who dyed her hair blonde and played the part of one of the popular kids in class to gather information more easily. Yet the moment she was in front of me, she let her guard show like that.
What the hell did I even do wrong? I just forced her to drink, threatened to beat her if she didn’t smile, took some laundry money from her, and stole the first kiss of the master she served. That was all. It wasn’t much. Anyone would think I’d already fucked Cha Yeri, the girl she cherished more than her own life. Well, that was going to happen soon enough anyway.
How could I possibly hold back from having sex with that cold, noble student council president?
“What do you want this time…”
“Wow. Anyone would think I torment you every single day.”
“Because you do torment me until I can’t live properly…”
Lee Yena stared at me with an exasperated look. Why was she glaring like that? Had I done something recently to earn her hatred? I couldn’t think of anything.
While I was quietly pondering, she let out a heavy sigh and spoke.
“Don’t you have any friends?”
“Why are you suddenly asking that?”
Hearing something like that out of nowhere just made me want to mess with her more. Was she bragging that she had plenty of friends? Even if I bully you, don’t blame me. It’s your own karma.
“Because you always try to eat lunch with me.”
Ah, so that’s why she asked. Come to think of it, ever since that first lunch with Lee Yena, I’d been eating with her every day. After all, meals taste better with a pretty girl. Even if she wasn’t a heroine, Lee Yena definitely belonged in the attractive category.
“Friends can eat together too.”
“That friend of yours… haa…”
Lee Yena sighed again, deep and long. She was probably regretting ever becoming friends with me. Too bad. I had no intention of letting her go. If she tried to run away, I’d plaster every photo of her drunk and smiling like an idiot all over the school corridors.
“Can’t you let me eat alone today? I already promised someone else.”
So that was why she’d brought a lunchbox today, unlike usual. In this romance-comedy world’s school, it was apparently normal to bring separate lunches like that. I quickly scanned the scene. The luxurious four-tier lunchbox in Lee Yena’s hands. There’s no way she’d eat something that fancy by herself. She’s obviously planning to share it with Cha Yeri.
That meant her destination was the student council office. Cha Yeri was famous for always bringing her own personal lunch and eating alone there.
Hmm. A good idea suddenly came to me.
“Sure.”
“R-really?”
“Yeah. Enjoy your lunch.”
When I gave in so easily, she looked like she couldn’t believe it, so I started walking first. After a suitable amount of time, I glanced back. Lee Yena was gone. She must have headed to the student council office.
“Auntie. One pizza bread and one milk, please.”
“Here you go.”
I bought bread and milk as a lunch substitute from the school store and headed for the student council office.
Click.
I opened the wooden door with its antique pattern and stepped inside.
“Kek… K-Kang Ijin?”
The moment Lee Yena saw me, she dropped the rolled omelet she’d been holding with her chopsticks onto the table and called my name.
Kya. I’d gone through all this annoying effort just to see that reaction.
The table was covered with colorful side dishes, and just as I’d predicted, she was eating with Cha Yeri.
I first glanced at Cha Yeri and gave her a slight nod. Our eyes met for only a second before she indifferently looked down again and continued eating with elegant, refined movements of her chopsticks.
She’s saying she won’t even give me the time of day.
A smart decision befitting the clever president, but she wouldn’t be able to maintain that attitude forever. I’d already come up with a method to change that.
“Kang Ijin… how did you…”
“What are you talking about? That’s my line. This is the student council office, dumbass. Don’t you know I’m the vice president?”
The student council office was normally off-limits for personal use unless you were an officer, and unauthorized entry was forbidden. But I was the vice president—the second-in-command. There was nothing strange about me being here.
Lee Yena seemed to realize that fact, her face flashing with sudden understanding.
“More importantly, you two seem pretty close. Close enough to eat lunch together. I had no idea.”
“T-that’s…”
Lee Yena was visibly flustered. That was understandable. The fact that she was Cha Yeri’s personal maid and spy was supposed to be a secret. Besides, she still didn’t know that I had already figured out her identity.
I tore into the pizza bread—which looked completely out of place next to that luxurious lunchbox—and sat down on the sofa opposite her. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the sight of her panicking.
“Why are you so flustered? It’s not like I asked something difficult to answer.”
“That’s… ah!”
Lee Yena’s face suddenly brightened as if she’d come up with a good excuse.
“There was that incident last time where two second-year girls got into a fight, remember?”
“Ah, yeah, there was something like that.”
It had been a messy brawl over one guy. They’d been pulling hair and scratching each other like animals. It turned out the guy had cheated on his girlfriend, and that’s why the two girls had gone at it.
If it had been me, that never would’ve happened.
This was all because the guy hadn’t properly trained his women. A real man makes women fall so hard they can’t function without him—so deeply that even if he cheats, they still want to stay by his side.
Shouldn’t the guy just not cheat in the first place? …Was that even possible? It seemed impossible to me.
“The student council came to mediate that day. One of the girls who fought is my friend, so that’s how I got to know the president and we became close.”
“Hoo. I see.”
“Yeah. That’s exactly what happened.”
“Haa…”
Cha Yeri, who had been quietly eating, let out a deep sigh. Lee Yena flinched at the sound. Her face still looked utterly confused, as if she didn’t understand the meaning behind that sigh at all.
Time to enlighten this foolish girl.
“But you know I was the one who went to mediate, right?”
“Eh?”
“I’m curious how you got close to the president on an occasion she didn’t even attend. Care to explain? Hmm?”
I smiled brightly—too brightly—and began applying psychological pressure.
“T-that’s…”
While she was stuttering, unable to answer. While her face was frozen in panic.
I wiped the smile from my face and hardened my expression.
“You didn’t lie to me, did you? I’m choosing to believe you didn’t, friend.”
“……”
“Hey. You wanna die?”
“……”
“Hey, Lee Yena. If you lied, shouldn’t you start with an apology?”
Sharp eyes, massive build, low commanding voice, and that signature rough aura. With all of those combined, I could easily intimidate even a non-heroine like a mere maid.
Lee Yena shrank her shoulders under my murderous atmosphere. The words “I’m sorry” were just about to leave her mouth when—
“That’s enough, Kang Ijin.”
If only Cha Yeri hadn’t interrupted.
“President. I’m in the middle of talking with this liar. Could the third party please stay out of it?”
“Yena has known me since we were children. That’s why we’re close. The reason she lied is because I told her not to talk about our relationship. So the fault lies with me. I’ll apologize in her place. I’m sorry for the lie, Kang Ijin. Is that sufficient?”
Cha Yeri neatly summarized the situation using only the necessary information. I knew those words were a lie meant to protect Lee Yena’s identity. She was lying even while knowing that I had noticed the deception. All to keep her promise with me—not to let Lee Yena know her cover had been blown.
Her effort was admirable, so I decided to stop here. My goal was to get a reaction out of Cha Yeri, not to make her hate me.
“What, if it was just that, you should’ve said so honestly. Friend.”
I picked up one of the octopus-shaped Vienna sausages with my fingers and popped it into my mouth. Even though I’d eaten the side dish without permission, Lee Yena simply nodded without a word. Cha Yeri didn’t scold me for using my hands either. Instead, she let out another deep sigh and spoke.
“There are new chopsticks on my desk. Use those, Kang Ijin.”
“Wow, I’m really allowed to eat with you? I’m truly grateful. Then, to be fair…”
I held out the pizza bread I’d already taken a bite of toward Cha Yeri. Precisely so that the bitten part faced her.
“What kind of behavior is this?”
“Since I ate some of yours, I thought it was only right to offer you some of mine. You’ve never tried anything like this before, have you, President?”
Just as I intended, Cha Yeri was staring fixedly at the spot I had bitten. Her cheeks were faintly red. She must have remembered our kiss when she saw the mark left by my mouth. Blushing just from imagining it. This girl possessed a purity that was rare in this day and age, just like Sua.
She’s so fucking cute I can’t stand it. How can a creature like this even exist?
Cha Yeri’s height was just a little below average for a woman. With my large frame, if I held her tightly while sleeping, she would fit completely in my arms. This was a total lucky onahole!
“If I eat this, it would be an indirect kiss with you…”
“Indirect… what did you say?”
“A-ah, never mind. I don’t eat things like this. Take it away.”
Cha Yeri refused my offer. Since I had expected it, I didn’t push and simply withdrew. My original purpose had been to confirm whether she was conscious of me.
Cha Yeri was not an easy woman. She wouldn’t fall for me over something as small as a kiss. However, the fact that I had made that cold, haughty woman conscious of me as a man was enough. It gave me a clear glimpse of the possibility of conquering her.
Let’s be satisfied with this for now.
With that thought, I began picking out the dishes prepared for a rich young lady and eating them. They were incredibly delicious. They suited my palate better than anything I had ever tasted. I wondered what Cha Yeri, who had grown up eating only food this good, would taste like. Her saliva would surely be as sweet as honey, her inner walls unbelievably soft. Even her back entrance would undoubtedly carry a fragrant scent.
“Vice President. There’s something I want to ask.”
“What is it?”
“Don’t you have a younger brother?”
The moment Cha Yeri mentioned Kang Suho, my brow furrowed on its own. Of course, I had been prepared for this. Kang Suho was the protagonist and Cha Yeri was a heroine. There was bound to be some point of contact between them. I had simply believed I could control that contact to a certain degree…
“I do.”
“During break, I saw him looking depressed by himself in the backyard. I wondered if something had happened.”
A point of contact had already formed without my knowledge. This was a massive setback.
“I wouldn’t know.”
“Hmm. You don’t know… I see.”
Cha Yeri fell into thought. Could it be that she was already concerned about Kang Suho? Just from seeing him depressed once?
The relationship between protagonist and heroine. Indeed, there was something invisible at work. They developed favor toward each other too easily. The protagonist naturally fell in love with the heroine. Conversely, the heroine let her guard down unusually only around the protagonist. Events occurred between them.
Just the forced, childish tropes of a romance comedy. It was annoying, but there was nothing I could do about this part. Events like that kept happening where I couldn’t see them. What could I possibly do?
“President. More importantly, isn’t it about time to select new student council officers?”
The only thing I could do was change the subject… The only method available to me was to create an even bigger event than Kang Suho’s… Nothing else.
