Searching for past life of Click user aaa123...
"Oh, it's linked to Click? Guess it's not some virus or sketchy shit then."
Past life search complete! Scan the QR code to view your past life!
"What, even a QR code?"
"This some kinda Click event entry thing?"
The prompt to scan a QR code felt a bit off, but Seung-yoon's words made me think, eh, maybe. I scanned it with my smartphone, and some app started installing.
Status Window.
Pretty simple app name.
"The app's called Status Window?"
"Yeah. What the hell? Hilarious."
"Some isekai app gimmick? Fucking funny. Click prepping some weeb content? Or tied to a webnovel or webtoon?"
I finally launched the mystery app—event or game, who knew.
Registering your past life list...
Up to now, aaa123 has lived one life. Race: Elf. Gender: Female. Unlike this life, you were born in a different dimension from Earth with a tragic fate, but you became the savior who saved the world.
"Me, a world-saving savior?"
"Damn, not just the country—the whole world? Then why's my life such shit?"
"Right? Shit. If I was that big a hero, shouldn't this life be a cakewalk?"
"Ah, says it's a different dimension. Maybe it doesn't count 'cause dimensions don't match?"
"For real?"
"Yup~ probably."
"Dumbass."
"Fuck off."
While my idiot friend and I traded joke-insults, the app kept spewing text like it was possessed by an explanation spammer.
[...so as compensation for this life, you can recall your previous life. However, considering this life's environment, recalling it directly would cause chaos in the world, so a penalty is imposed.]
I skimmed the walls of text—straight out of some novel or game plot.
"AI roleplay gimmick?"
"Yeah, there's that recent AI thing where you chat like in a visual novel."
"Weird shit everywhere."
Roleplay wasn't my thing—I'd rather read a novel—so I skipped the rambling text like any Korean with the passive skill hurry-the-fuck-up.
"Oh."
After scrolling past the setting overload, a few images popped up. That AI vibe—realistic yet cartoony sweet spot. Too cartoony for photoreal, too real for anime. The protagonist would rack up more likes than hates.
Jet-black wavy hair crashing like midnight waves against porcelain-white skin. Stark contrast between hair and skin, framed by lush lashes and emerald eyes. Sharp nose leading to full pink lips... Any regular guy would call her pretty. But the ears. Not just a bit—properly long. The trademark of fantasy elves. Some'd hate it.
Still, that near-perfect body—AI perfection as usual. Unless you're into fat chicks or flat chests, it'd overwhelmingly appeal. Generous bust balanced against a slender waist, flaring hips screaming femininity, firm-yet-soft ass and thighs flowing into long legs. Stunning.
But that's it. With AI art everywhere, it was pretty and cool, but no real punch. Still, it subconsciously drew an "oh" from me.
Of course, that's just my take. Drawings gotta be hand-made for that emotional hit...
"Drool's coming out."
"Huh?"
My friend's pitiful stare stung. Nah, no emotion, but pretty's pretty.
Anyway, at the bottom: "Really recall your past life?" with glowing Yes/No buttons. Tied to a verified platform, so I hit Yes.
We express our respects to you who saved the world even in desperate circumstances. May this life bring you peace...
Crappily cringey thanks, then the app shut down. My barely-new phone followed suit, rebooting with:
Rebooting to adapt to the new world...
A progress bar crept up slowly.
"What the hell? Hacking app?"
"Nah, it's Click-linked. No way... Shit, I bought this like half a year ago!"
"Could be phishing from some illegal site..."
I resisted the urge to punch the anxiety-monger next to me and waited. But at one percent every five minutes, I gnawed my nails for over ten.
"Ah, shit. Whatever. If it's dead tomorrow, I'll hit up Click support."
"Do that. Nothing we can do at this hour anyway. I'ma game then crash."
"Night. Don't jerk off while I'm out."
"Fuck off. Go sleep, idiot."
Nothing to do now, so better crash clean than stress. I hit the bed.
But phone doom looped in my head—no sleep. What possessed me to click that trash ad? I skip most, why not today? And my friend didn't stop me. Everything pissed me off today. Stress killing sleep...
Sleep...
"Hey... wake... up... you f..."
"......"
"Hey! Hey hey!"
"Wake up! Hey!"
"......"
When'd I pass out? Phone worries kept me up, but now Seung-yoon's shaking me awake. Eyes heavy like I barely slept, sleep paralysis grossness—better ignore and snooze for clear head.
-Slap! Slap!
Ah, sh...it.
-Slap! Slap!
Cheek sting snapped me awake, irritation surging. Fuck, why wake me?
"Ah... shut up... dumb...ass."
"Awake? Dude, not time to sleep. Get up, idiot."
"What time."
"Past 10."
10 AM? My 4 PM shift's early for that. He's lost it.
"Shift's ages away, why wake me bullshit."
"Forget shift—this ain't the issue."
"What then!"
Shift hours away, but dude's insistence had me kicking off the blanket in rage.
"Gasp."
"What?"
I sat up glaring; he flushed weird, face red. Sudden chills.
"Uh, don't freak. Actually, freaking's normal, but don't freak."
"?"
Shameless guy who'd boldly woken me now puppy-eyed, avoiding my gaze, mumbling like guilty dog.
"What're you on?"
Staring annoyed at his babble, he covered eyes with index and middle, then dropped them low.
"What?"
Snap at nonsense; he breathed deep, head turned, eyes on my chest.
"Look down."
"Why down sudden..."
His weird face and crazy vibe—did I piss bed? Eyes down.
"?"
"......"
"?"
"......"
Something wrong on my chest. Friend, down. Friend, down. No change.
-Squish squish.
"Oh shit."
"Not a dream, no pinching or slapping needed."
"......"
"But can I touch once?"
"Like hell."
Twenty-three-year-old dude. Somehow a chick now. Probably? But why naked, shit. More, how?!
"I, uh, just woke—brain not spinning right?"
"I'm fucking confused too."
"Not dream?"
"Real, so stop groping and cover with blanket or dress."
Touch felt too good; kept squishing unconsciously. But why me? Mirror first—what happened overnight? Gotta check the scary truth.
