Aftermath (3)
“Sluuuurp—haaa. Slurp. Gulp gulp.”
The stack of disposable Jjaegaechi containers piled up next to me. I'd just demolished another bowl, making it nine in total.
Yeah. My broth-diluting strategy had ultimately failed.
It was just way too unpalatable for my taste buds. That half-assed attempt at diluting the broth had been worse than doing nothing at all. If anything, it pissed off the viewers—90% of the roulette spins were now super spicy, leaving my lips swollen and throbbing.
Shit...
“Slurp. Hiiiik. Hngggg.”
“Hngggslurp. You little shit, banned.”
The agony in my lips and tongue had me moaning involuntarily, and one viewer who couldn't hold back got booted. I chugged some milk.
This white elixir of life cooled my scorching tongue, scorched by whatever hellish abomination masqueraded as Jjaegaechi. With my mouth full of milk, it felt a bit better—at least until the pain surged back. The milk was definitely cold, fresh from my mouth, but it strangely felt hot, so I swallowed fast and poured in more.
Damn. If I were a normal person, I'd be stuffed to bursting on milk alone by now. Four two-liter cartons rolled around next to me as proof.
“Haaaah! Last one incoming!”
At this point, I figured I'd just power through fast and end it. I wiped my teary, blurred vision with some tissue and slurped up another mouthful of noodles.
I chewed and swallowed roughly. No worries about indigestion anyway—it'd vanish in my gut—so I devoured it like a beast.
I couldn't make out the chat through my fresh tears, but it didn't look flattering, so I ignored it and hustled to clear the mission, hands and mouth working overtime.
Thankfully, time had passed since the earlier bowls, so the heat was less intense now, and my pace picked up.
“Slurrrp. Gulp. Gulp. Sluuuuurp! Full broth down!”
The second I finished the full broth, I bolted to the fridge and grabbed a frozen spoon from the freezer to cool my lips.
Damn. Never pulling spicy arrogance again.
“Mmm. Huh? Ungh?”
The frozen spoon from the freezer stuck right to my lips, and as I mumbled in panic, the viewers roasted me mercilessly. Mortified, I tried to lick it off with my tongue through the tiny gap.
“Ue? Uiii?”
Frustrated with my fumbling, one viewer donated a genius(...) solution. I thumbs-upped them and dashed to the sink.
Lukewarm water on my lips, and the spoon popped right off. Phew. Thought my lip skin was gonna rip off for a sec.
“Ugh, what was cute about that? Just call me a retard instead.”
Hearing 'cute' or 'pretty' still gave me goosebumps all over. If I'd been a guy, no one would've said that—couldn't even imagine it. Bleh.
Mission: Got super spicy on roulette—finish the full bowls!
Mission Success!
Acquired total mission funds: 2,301,000 won!
“Sluuuurp. Haaaa. Nice—slurp—sha~ Thanks everyone. Hiiik.”
Of the two missions, no-tears eating was an obvious fail, but full-broth completion succeeded. No-tears had nearly double the pot, so it stung a tiny bit. But I doubt anyone could've held back tears on that. First bite felt like a punch to the mouth. Those weren't tasty tears—they were pure pain tears.
Dreading my phone later. Wonder how pissed off my Food God is. Probably some penalty popping up.
Viewers hitting me with gross questions right after I finished eating. I answered nonchalantly.
“Slurp. Elves don't poop.”
...Not a joke, it's fact. But dumb viewers wouldn't know. Whatever, I get it.
“Ugh, you little kids. Fine. I shit elephant-sized dumps. Happy?”
Telling them a real bodily function, and chat riots again. These people bitch no matter what.
“Anyway, one more dirty word and you're gone.”
A light warning, and they backed off. Block gross topics, and suddenly sweet concern floods in.
Damn, Seung-yoon never got chats this wholesome doing similar content. My teeth are rotting.
“Anyway, I proved it again today. And huge thanks to Milkie-kun for powering through those 10 super spicy bowls! Couldn't have done it without you. Sniff.”
Grabbing milk from the nearby mart in a panic was a godsend decision.
10 liters = 10kg. If it stayed in my gut, I couldn't even move. Hell, no regurgitation mid-eat would be lucky.
I patted my belly—flat as before, despite everything. Felt weirdly off. Nah, not weird—exhaustion crashing in.
“Whew. Feeling alive now. Spiciness faded, freed from pain. So, uh...”
“Huh? How'd you know? Bedtime.”
Drained from the spice, extreme fatigue hit, so I ended the stream right there.
Glancing at the last chat wails, I could guess how the remaining viewers felt—but they'd see me tomorrow.
Yawwwn. Time to wash up and sleep for tomorrow. Ugh... room reeks of Jjaegaechi...
