Famous Baseball YouTuber Yaman
A major online community. Amidst boards buzzing with countless topics, one post popped up on a particularly lively section.
The Comprehensive Baseball Board was a casual chat spot for all things baseball—mostly MLB and KBO, with a smattering of NPB news. But during the offseason lull, there wasn't much hot gossip, so the board scraped by on random tangents. Today's debate had been raging over which team's cheerleaders were the hottest, until this random bombshell dropped.
A post claiming a woman was hurling 150km/h fastballs underhand at the Pangpang batting range—a spot made famous by frequent visits from popular baseball YouTuber Yaman. Naturally, the reactions weren't kind.
And dozens more piled on. If the goal was to stir the pot, mission accomplished. Jo Hyun-su, the YouTuber known as Yaman who'd put Pangpang on the map, let out a chuckle at the post.
"What's so funny?"
Lee Jin-hyeong, his manager and cameraman, glanced over from the driver's seat as Hyun-su laughed while scrolling.
"Oh, some troll on the baseball board."
"What kind?"
"Says a woman showed up at Pangpang throwing 150 underhand."
"Total bullshit."
"But the comments are blowing up."
"No exhibition games, everyone's bored as hell?"
"Cheerleader threads everywhere, then bam—this drops."
"Ah... yeah, the girl fans have taken over. Speaking of, Hanna ditched us over cheerleader stuff."
Jin-hyeong's sudden reminder made Hyun-su frown.
"Huh? Why? Didn't she say her schedule cleared?"
"She's heading to Taiwan this season. Too much prep, she bailed."
"Damn. Congrats and all, but canceling last-minute sucks."
"What, first time? Plenty of other cheerleaders out there."
"Sure, replacements galore, but nobody vibes with our content like Hanna."
Tall in the late 160s, athletic from high school softball, she oozed beauty and a healthy glow. Even as a rookie cheerleader, she'd blown up on guy-heavy forums. Hyun-su had figured her killer looks and potential would make her a star soon—and boom, Taiwan scout already. Last season, he'd snagged the then-no-name Yoo Hanna for a "What if a former softball player tried baseball pitching?" video that racked up views and launched her fame. He'd hoped for a sequel honey pot, but no dice.
Baseball was drawing more women these days, but forums stayed dude-central. Pretty girls swinging bats or pitching? View-count gold. Not just baseball—any sports content with hot chicks was a cheat code. Hyun-su's Yaman channel spiked hardest on vids featuring them.
"Aigoo~ Hello there."
"Oh, you're here?"
Pondering replacements, the guest for today's shoot climbed into the van's back seat with a greeting.
"Commentator, long time no see."
"Long time? We met last month."
Jin-hyeong waved from the front as O Gwang-hyeon, ex-player turned commentator, chuckled heartily.
"Hey, Commentator. Woo-joo free anytime?"
"My daughter? Why?"
"Our guest flaked. Was gonna do some pitching and casual baseball lessons."
"I'm game anytime, but for her, hit up her agency—not me."
"Fair point?"
"Want me to put in a word?"
"That'd be awesome."
Hyun-su eyed his connection: O Woo-joo, Gwang-hyeon's daughter and rookie idol from a major agency in girl group HeartCat. Idol life meant agency calls trumped dad, apparently.
"I'll text if it lines up. But comeback soon—no big hopes."
"Nah, just asking is gold."
Slim odds now, but who knew when the channel blew up later.
"We're here."
"Whoa, skipping workouts makes even stepping outta the car tough."
"C'mon, that's nonsense."
Hyun-su laughed at Gwang-hyeon's grumble—retired ages ago, but the guy's muscle-packed frame screamed constant gym time.
The crew arrived at Pangpang Baseball Practice for the shoot, hopping out and heading in.
"Huh? Kinda dead today?"
Normally, steady bat cracks echoed this hour, but aside from distant pitching-zone thwacks, it was quiet. Weird for a weekday afternoon—zero crowds like this? Curiosity piqued, they entered and spotted the few patrons clustered, not batting, just gawking at something.
"What's the spectacle?"
Hyun-su asked the owner through the safety netting, eyes locked on the crowd. The dazed proprietor turned, shook hands warmly.
"Oh, you're here! And Commentator O—long time!"
"Yeah, boss. All good?"
"Yep. But Hyun-su, forget hellos—check that pitching zone quick!"
Following his gaze past the murmuring, wide-eyed onlookers: a woman in a black baseball cap, black tracksuit with white triple stripes on the limbs. Ponytail swaying to her waist, she towered—at least mid-180s. Slender yet her wide hips and thick thighs strained the fabric, screaming dedicated athlete. Killer legs blending femininity and power—genetics plus grind, no doubt.
The crowd hushed as she wound up. Left knee rose slow to chest height. Then—snap—leg thrust forward in huge stride, torso dropping low, arm whipping in a ground-skimming arc. A textbook extreme underhand throw, rare in Korea now, straight out of a legend's playbook. The ball nailed strike zone #2 dead-center with a thunderous crack!
"Woooah!"
The muffled buildup exploded into cheers. Power and speed no woman should muster. Speed gun mid-zone glowed red: 157.
"Dude, this is insane, right?"
Jin-hyeong gaped. Hyun-su couldn't believe it either. Wait—that troll post en route? Real deal. Probably from one of these rubberneckers.
"Who's that girl? Form's dead-on Gold Mare."
"Han Jung-hyun?"
"Yeah! Jung-hyun!"
Korea's pitching legend, MLB vet, retired years back. Nicknamed "Submarine" for his brutal underhand heaters that defied the style's speed limits. But did he have a daughter that stacked? He had one, but she was a kid last Hyun-su knew. Not the point.
"Hyun-su, how 'bout her as Hanna's replacement?"
"Too disruptive now—chat after."
Jin-hyeong smelled the scoop, nodding. But realistic? A woman outpacing Han Jung-hyun? Korea's fastest female pitcher topped low 130s; global max near 140. This random chick mid-150s? Straight ball only so far, but that velocity could hang in pro ball. Who'd buy it?
Screw it—glove itch was real. She finished, heading out. Door swung open; she froze at the stares. Hyun-su knew: this wasn't just viral. Mega-ultra-giga-tera-viral.
"Hyun-su, toss her in today's shoot?"
"Commentator, great minds."
"Right? Go, man!"
Snapping from his daze at Gwang-hyeon and Jin-hyeong's nudge, Hyun-su bolted. Beat the poachers.
"Uh... hello? I'm from YouTube channel..."
"Whoa, Yaman?"
"Y-yeah! You know me?"
"Who doesn't? Every baseball fan's subbed. I'm one too."
Subscriber jackpot. Heart soaring, before he pitched collab, she lit up at Gwang-hyeon.
"Oh! Commentator O too?"
"Aigoo, even this old fogey's on your radar."
"Haha, any baseball fan who doesn't know you is suspect. 13-year Phoenix diehard here."
"No kidding? Hahaha!"
True or not, buttering up the ex-Phoenix vet? Pretty and sweet.
"You two together—YouTube shoot today?"
She chatted like old pals despite first meet. Hyun-su grinned back.
"Yep. Uh, got a sec?"
"Me? Sure, what's up...?"
"Well, it's like this..."
