I Can't Resist the Divine Dragon's Chubby Tail!
Shinryong-nim! 0. Shinryong-nim!
The sun was setting, sinking into this ordinary, utterly ordinary world. Today, too, the world was at peace. Crows with carefree faces cut across the sky before perching on power lines, mocking the people passing below. Innocent little children ran through the alleyways, adventuring through their tiny worlds. It was an impossibly comfortable world, this one.
I had been strolling through the market with a shopping basket when I suddenly stretched and thought to myself. If Shinryong-nim hadn’t been here, this peace probably wouldn’t have lasted very long.
“Huaaaam~!”
After a refreshing stretch, I glanced briefly at the onions, green onions, chicken, and various spices in my basket before slowly turning and starting to walk again. Tonight’s dinner would be curry—Shinryong-nim’s favorite curry. Since she likes udon, I’d boil some noodles to add in, and I’d also fry up a bit of the thinly sliced pork belly I still had left from the temple. I personally prefer eating it with rice, so I wouldn’t add noodles for myself. Then Shinryong-nim would probably stare at me with those slightly disappointed eyes of hers. Still, it couldn’t be helped. Carb control is essential for a beauty, after all.
Of course, calling my body a beauty would be a bit of a stretch—it has quite a few flaws. But since it was a body granted to me by Shinryong-nim, I don’t dislike it. Besides…
“… Niyu, you have returned.”
“Yes~ I’m back, Shinryong-nim!”
Deep within a forest so far removed from the human city that it felt like another world entirely, behind the shrine located in the deepest part of that forest, in the annex where Shinryong-nim had been waiting for me to return from my outing—she was there. Because I adore such a beautiful Shinryong-nim, I can’t help but grow even fonder of this peculiar body of mine. After all, this unusual body of mine is perfectly suited for loving her.
Well, that’s something you’ll gradually come to understand without me explaining it at length right now, so I’ll set it aside for later. First, as soon as I got home, I organized everything I’d bought into their proper places, then took out only what I’d need for today and headed straight to the kitchen.
Onions, meat, green onions… The ingredients were more than enough. After checking the condition of every item, I lightly tied on an apron with a practiced motion and began preparing the food.
I set the frying pan on the burner, peeled an onion and placed it on the cutting board, sliced it in half down the middle, then cut each half again from the root. Once I had four pieces, I sliced them into thin strips and set them aside. For the green onions, I could have cut them roughly according to preference, but since I planned to fry the onions in green onion oil today, I began slicing them as thinly and finely as possible.
Tap-tap-tap-tap. The sound of the knife striking the cutting board filled the kitchen. In the past, I couldn’t handle a knife this quickly. Whenever I used one, my chest would tighten with anxiety. But recently I’d realized that if I curled my left hand properly, it greatly reduced the strain on my right, and now that my speed had improved dramatically, using a knife had actually become enjoyable.
After finishing the green onions and cutting the meat into bite-sized pieces, instead of feeling rushed I found myself thinking it was a shame that I’d already finished. It felt like just yesterday that Shinryong-nim had stayed by my side the entire time, watching over me because I struggled so much with slicing onions. Had I grown this accustomed to such a peaceful life already?
Even so, I didn’t mind it at all.
“… Whoa!”
At that moment, with a loud sizzle, the green onions I’d dropped into the frying pan began spewing an enormous amount of smoke. I’d been too hasty and thrown them in without heating the pan or adding oil first. Still, I quickly lowered the heat, pulled the pan off, added oil, and immediately began rolling the green onions with chopsticks. Fortunately, the ones that had been nicely charred just before burning now coated the oil with a wonderful aroma.
Once again, my quick thinking had saved me from failure. A good result.
I hurriedly hid my flustered expression and continued stir-frying the green onions with practiced movements until their fragrance had thoroughly infused the oil. Then I removed all the shriveled green onions, added the onions, and began stir-frying them as well.
Now came the time of patience. I had to wait until the onions turned a deep brown and became incredibly soft. Of course, it was also important to keep stirring them so they wouldn’t burn. With the heat lowered slightly, I gathered the shriveled green onions—which I could use later—and stored them in the refrigerator.
While the refrigerator was open, I started debating whether to use some of the chicken I’d bought today. I had purchased it for tomorrow, but I’d bought quite a lot, so using a little today wouldn’t hurt. Even though I was already planning to use the pork belly, didn’t dishes always taste better with more meat?
It didn’t take me long to end my internal debate. I took out the chicken and quickly began preparing it. If I only used a small portion of the breast meat, I’d still have enough left for tomorrow’s meal, and it would enhance the curry’s flavor even more. Naturally, I didn’t forget to keep stirring the onions in between. There was no way I’d let those precious onions burn.
When the onions had reached about halfway to the desired color, I lifted the pan off the heat and set it down in an empty space. That way, when I added the meat later, the doneness wouldn’t differ too much. I immediately took out a new pan, heated it, added a little oil, and began cooking the chicken first. Since the thinly sliced pork belly cooks quickly, adding it once the chicken was nearly done would be the best approach.
High heat. I cooked with the intent of searing the surface. That way the outsides of both the chicken and pork would become crispy while the insides remained moist—that was the perfect timing. I removed the cooked meat and transferred it to the pan with the onions I’d set aside earlier, pouring in as much of the rendered fat as possible.
Keeping the heat high to revive the cooled onions, I stir-fried everything together until well combined, then added two spoonfuls of ketchup! Here, ketchup was the crucial point. The difference in umami between adding it and not adding it was enormous—a secret only the true masters knew. Of course, there were times when I accidentally left out various ingredients, including this one. Even then, while Shinryong-nim would sometimes pause with her spoon halfway to her mouth, she always told me it was delicious. What a grateful person.
Sizzle—
Good. The ketchup stir-fry was complete. Since this was for the two of us, I added the precisely measured amount of water to submerge the mixture. The water would soon bubble and boil vigorously. Before it reached a full boil, I added the prepared seasonings to adjust the flavor. The moment it began boiling, I broke the solid curry blocks I’d bought today into pieces and dropped them in.
The world really has become convenient these days. When I was young, we had to grind turmeric ourselves. It’s truly amazing.
“Mmm, the smell passes the test…”
Wrapped in these quiet thoughts, I diligently stirred the solid curry into the hot broth. Since the curry could stick to the bottom now, I kept the heat from getting too high—just enough for the broth to gently simmer—and stirred vigorously with a spatula. Once all the curry had dissolved, I lowered the heat further until the bubbling was barely visible, then placed the lid on slightly ajar. After waiting about three minutes like this, the curry would be finished.
“Phew.”
For the rice, I took out the grains I had soaked earlier. Since I was the only one eating rice, I only needed a small amount. I transferred the soaked rice to a small pot and set it over high heat. It would soon come to a boil and the lid would start rattling. At that point I’d reduce it to low heat, cook for about four minutes, turn off the flame, and let it steam for a few more minutes to finish.
But the curry still seemed a bit thin, so I decided to let it simmer longer and covered it again. This gave me a brief moment of free time. Suddenly I wondered what Shinryong-nim was doing right now. I walked slowly toward the open sliding door and stepped outside.
There she was, sitting upright on a cushion in front of the hallway sliding door she had left open that morning. Her eyes were closed as she faced the small decorative pond in the garden, bathed in the incoming sunlight. Her expression held no trace of boredom—only clear, tranquil peace. It was the kind of sight that naturally brought a soft smile to her lips.
Of course, given Shinryong-nim’s personality, she rarely showed much expression, so even that smile was very faint. Still, I knew exactly what was in her heart right now. And so, a soft smile formed on my own face as I watched her.
She must be in a very good mood. Her tail swayed gently from side to side, occasionally wrapping lightly around her legs before unwinding again. Yes, that chubby tail. Just looking at it made me want to run over, hug it tight, and shower it with kisses. Every single day, Shinryong-nim’s tail put me through the most exquisite torment.
Her profile, slightly tilted as she basked in the gently descending sunlight, that lovely side face. Those beautiful, droplet-like breasts that weren’t even hidden by her thin martial robe. The gentle curve of her waist flowing into hips that flared just right. That perfect, graceful figure. Every single part of her tested me, driving me into sweet agony.
Even that long, plump tail seemed to test my desires. Sometimes I wondered if Shinryong-nim had taken me in just to torment me. It was a rather ungrateful thought, but today… today I would say it. When the sun set, I would tell her. I would definitely tell her.
Slide—
“Shinryong-nim.”
“… What is it?”
To my perfect Shinryong-nim, I whispered as I approached from behind, wrapped my arms tightly around her, and pressed my lips to her shoulder.
“I want to fuck you…”
“…….”
Shinryong-nim was greatly flustered. Her face flushed a deep red as she turned to look at me, her eyes wide with disbelief. But soon she averted her gaze, tilting her head slightly. For a brief moment she held my hand tightly with a pouty expression, then—
“… G-gently.”
Having made up her mind, she whispered to me.
“I ask this of you…”
This is the story of how I—a mere forest spirit who once managed a single woodland—came to be taken in by Shinryong-nim, fell in love with her, and in the end made her mine. My very own… Shinryong-nim.
