Talent Show Triumph - Team 7 Takes First!
Talent show - Team 7 takes 1st place! Additional 300 points! No complaints accepted!
"Woooooo!"
"Our senior was too sexy—what are we supposed to do?! From now on, we gotta call him Hwan Unnie! Everybody shout it—Hwan Unnie!"
"Hwan Unnie! Hwan Unnie!"
Seo Joo-hwan stepped off the stage, bursting into incredulous laughter. He'd known she was lively and talkative even before his regression, but he hadn't expected this level. It was impressive how she could hype up a department full of mostly quiet, introverted types like Publishing Content.
She should've majored in Recreation, he thought.
After changing clothes, Seo Joo-hwan returned to Team 7's spot and sat down. The moment he arrived, Jo Kyung-jun exploded into laughter.
"Puhaha! You crazy bastard, Seo Joo-hwan! You were all 'no way' at first, but then you killed it!"
"Ugh, shut up—it's embarrassing. Damn, what was I thinking?"
Thinking back, just stepping up for the memory game would've been enough. But his pointless competitive streak had kicked in, making him dance full-out. Still, it had been fun.
His teammates kept chatting him up nonstop.
"Joo-hwan oppa! No, Hwan Unnie! Unnie, you're the best!"
"Oppa, that dance was insane. I'm calling you unnie from now on."
Jeong Ha-yeon glanced at his face and let out a snort.
"Sexy dance was on point."
"Right, Unnie! That wave was so sexy. Sexier than a girl!"
"Th-thanks…."
He trembled at the corners of his mouth as he replied. Jeong Ha-yeon was just teasing, but the other girls were genuinely hyped, so he couldn't even get mad. Turning his head, his eyes met Jang Deok-hoon's—the guy who'd pushed him into the cross-dressing contest.
Jang Deok-hoon gave him double thumbs-up.
"Bro, you were the epitome of devastating beauty."
Seo Joo-hwan felt a surge of irritation. Hey, you otaku. That's a manga title.
With a smiling face, he stared at Jang Deok-hoon.
"We'll talk later. Bro's gonna teach you what a real old-school boss is."
"…Urk. My legs suddenly—!"
"Want me to actually break 'em?"
"Bro, my bad!"
"Yeah, scram."
He looked like a bear, but he was surprisingly soft deep down.
Jo Kyung-jun chuckled and patted his shoulder.
"Hwan Unnie, time to prep now."
"…Call me by my name properly."
"Puhaha. Got it. Don't glare—I'm gonna fall for you."
"Wow, seriously. I'm losing my mind. You little shit!"
Seo Joo-hwan grabbed Jo Kyung-jun for some payback as they prepared to head back onstage. The talent show was about to kick off.
*
The talent show followed the order from the earlier draw. Seo Joo-hwan and Jo Kyung-jun ended up closing it out, much to their surprise.
Starting with Team 1, the performances were pretty entertaining. Most were group dances or songs, nothing too wild. Some teams nailed it; others were so cringey they made you wanna look away.
The worst by far was Team 5—Baek Jeong-gi. Seo Joo-hwan let out a dry cough.
"That psycho. Same as ever."
Baek Jeong-gi sang on stage, surrounded by girls dancing around him. He groped at them under the guise of choreography—it was a sight.
To outsiders, it might look decent. But knowing his sleazy personality even a little made it unbearable.
Next up was Lee Seok-chan, still in his cross-dressing getup, performing a girl group song and dance flawlessly with his teammates.
Mr. Chu~ Kiss on the lips~
Sweetly Chu~ My whole body's going weak~
Lee Seok-chan nailed the girl group choreo so well, it was clear why he'd gone full drag. With just over a week of practice, their sync was pro-level.
- Whoa~! This feels like a lock for the win!
Not that the others sucked, but Team 6 crushed it! They did solid in the mini-games and cross-dressing too. Looks like the soju prize goes to Team 6?
Next team, come on up!
It was Team 7's turn.

Seo Joo-hwan and Jo Kyung-jun took the stage in jeans and hoodies.
- Seven Siblings fighting~!
Team 7 cheered at the top of their lungs—a far cry from their shy start to the MT. The cheering points probably helped hype them up.
- Music's starting!
Seo Joo-hwan scanned the crowd below, then stepped forward at the MC's cue.
- A special night with Double B! Everybody, attendance check!
They'd picked "Attendance Check" by hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo. As hip-hop nerds, they'd considered something hardcore, but went mainstream so everyone could join in. It was a bit old but iconic, with simple lyrics perfect for sing-alongs. Of course, they tweaked the lyrics for the vibe.
Say attendance check check it out attendance check check it out
Seo Joo-hwan and Jo Kyung-jun waved their hands, pulling cheers from the crowd. MT vibes made even the shy ones ride the wave, pumping fists up and down.
Doong, doong, doo-doong. Boom! Boom boom! Boom!
Guitar, bass, layered sounds. Dropping drum beats. Then Seo Joo-hwan's voice overlaid it all.
Activating his singing talent's special ability Sing Feeling, he stepped up for the rapid-fire rap.
A week with PubCon is Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu-Fri-Fri-Fri!
Piled-up assignments—no time for drinks between-between-between!
Fri-Fri-Fri! Between-between-between!
Jo Kyung-jun doubled behind him, amplifying the volume.
- Woooaaah—!!
- Kyung-jun sunbae, you're awesome!
- Hwan Unnie's cool too!
Seo Joo-hwan smirked at the voices. Still calling him unnie after he'd changed? But it was firing up the crowd.
Forget it all—just for tonight!
Make our own MT memories!
We're not high schoolers—we're college kids!
Adults now, time to chug bomb shots!
The old-school vibe lingered despite the tweaks, but bangers endure for a reason. The infectious beat had shoulders bouncing everywhere.
Now for the hook.
Today, attendance check right here!
Gather up, attendance check right here!
Left side, attendance check!
Right side, attendance check!
As prepped, Team Seven Siblings hyped the hook Jo Kyung-jun spat. So simple, the whole hall joined in.
During the quick hook, Seo Joo-hwan adjusted his mic and took a breath. "Attendance Check" wasn't just rap—famed for high notes with Lael featured, it needed belting.
After Jo Kyung-jun's hook, Seo Joo-hwan stepped up, squeezing his vocal cords for pitch. He poured Sing Feeling into maxed-out "joy"—let's forget the world and party tonight.
Come on PubCon, come on gather here—today go and drink-!
Today go and drink-!
Come on PubCon, come on gather here—today go and drink-!
Today go and drink-!
His sharp high note pierced through the mic. His B-rank singing, judged on raw power, rivaled pros. No formal training meant rough technique, but his voice overflowed with irreplaceable feeling most singers couldn't touch.
The high note ignited the building hype into an explosion of cheers filling the hall.
- Kyaaaah—!
- Oppa, you're so cool—!
- Hwan Unnie's the best!
- Joo-hwan hyung, badass!
Seo Joo-hwan nearly chuckled at the deep voice amid the roar, slightly messing his breath. But who cared? He wasn't a pro—just here to have fun!
Exhilarated cheers flooded his ears. Everyone waved hands overhead in the feverish vibe. He grinned wide, unable to hide it. Was it Sing Feeling? Forgetting lyrics vanished; pure excited joy surged through him.
You guys are peaking early—how am I supposed to top this?
He pulled the mic away. His planned climax wasn't the high note—it was the instrumental break.
Tchiki-tchiki-tchiki-tchigi.
Tcha, tchak! Tcha, tchak!
The break scratched like a DJ spinning—hip-hop style, no ballad lull, just pounding beats.
With the beat, Seo Joo-hwan rushed forward, riding the rhythm.
Practiced this for clubbing!
Shuffle and croc he'd drilled with Lee Jeong-hoon pre-club—wasted on sloppy moves then, but perfect now!
His body pushed off the floor, stamping and gliding flashy. Boom! Boom boom! Tap, boom, ta-dak! Sliding soles with ankle twists, stomping croc mixes—the vibe was about to detonate.
- Woooaaaahhh—!
- Kyaaaaah!
Twenty-year-olds rarely hit clubs, especially quiet PubCon kids. This was fresh and thrilling.
Just before the break ended, he slid smoothly back to Jo Kyung-jun. They finished the verse, hit the repeating hook.
Stepping forward, they shouted lines.
"Everyone together this time!"
"Today right here~ Check!"
- Check!
"Gather right here~ Check!"
- Check!
"Left side!"
- Check!
"Right side!"
- Check!
Thrusting mics forward on cue drew roars from the hall. No begging needed—even MC Do Yu-i nearby hyped it like a hype man.
Whoa, that bald prof knows how to party!
Seo Joo-hwan spotted a professor at the back, standing and joining in like a pro. Looked like he'd partied in his youth! Respect, prof!
They timed the end perfectly. Pulling back, backs together, mics out.
"Atten!dance!"
- Check!
Perfect response to the finish. Good choice on a crowd-pleaser.
Beats faded, song done.
- Wooowaaaahhh!!
- Kyaaaaah!
- Team 7! Team 7!
- Seven Siblings! Seven Siblings!
Cheers erupted wildly post-stage. No absentees here—the "attendance" shouts rang in his ears.
Team 7 beamed; the twenty-year-olds bounced like kids.
Congratulations, Master. You made the memory you wanted.
Yeah. Way more fun than I thought.
Seo Joo-hwan smiled in satisfaction. He'd been nervous pre-stage, but a hundred cheers electrified him. No wonder singers crave the spotlight.
