The Fall
In the hospital room, Joo Sung-hyun stood with the Han Chae-kyung couple.
After a prolonged standoff, the cuckold finally opened his mouth first.
“Joo Sung-hyun. May I ask you a question?”
“Please go ahead.”
The moment I saw Kim Ho-chang up close, I realized his condition was utterly ruined.
He was still on an IV drip… and the patient card read “NPO.” NPO meant nothing by mouth—not even water.
This wasn’t just his liver and kidneys; his gallbladder was gone too.
A man who tried to save his own dick but ended up destroying every other organ… instead of mocking him, I sat down in the chair he pointed to.
“Um, President Kim.”
“Do you have something to say?”
“…No. I don’t.”
I mumbled it off and watched them both, taking in their expressions.
I didn’t stare at either of them the same way. I gave Kim Ho-chang a polite smile, then shot Han Chae-kyung a subtle glare that asked, “What the hell is this?”
It looked like I’d been dragged here unwillingly, which was exactly the right cover.
And I could bury the fact that everything was my doing.
“Councilor Han. What is this?”
“Shut up for now.”
Kim Ho-chang’s real interrogation began right after.
“Joo Sung-hyun. May I ask you something?”
“Please continue.”
“Continue? Fine. You said you split your own time to help my wife, right?”
“Yes.”
How strange. A public official doing such things.
Kim Ho-chang was deliberately letting his guard slip.
If we’d met somewhere else, I would have at least shown basic respect.
But now the situation demanded tension.
That gave me the perfect opening.
“President Kim, please refrain from using informal speech.”
“…Look. I—”
“I know who you are. You’re the husband of the councilor standing there, a wealthy man worth around fifty billion won, and you’re far older than me. But you should still show respect.”
“……”
“I am not your subordinate.”
While pretending to be bold, I still glanced at Han Chae-kyung out of the corner of my eye.
She tried to ignore it, but Kim Ho-chang caught my rolling eyes and sneered openly.
Yes, he had the sense to do that. No matter how much of a cuck he was.
“Fine. I apologize.”
“Thank you… President.”
“Let’s get to the main point. Are you ready?”
I nodded. Then, hiding my tension, I placed my tightly clenched fists on my knee.
“Joo Sung-hyun. Answer me honestly.”
“Yes.”
“You met a woman named Kwak Min-sun at my wife’s request, didn’t you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t play dumb. You already knew roughly and called her here.”
I took a sharp breath while glancing at Han Chae-kyung’s face… then quickly pulled my gaze away and shut my mouth.
I couldn’t admit it outright or just deny it, so I looked cornered.
It wasn’t hard. After spending years catering to twenty-five Annam City councilors, I had naturally picked up the skill.
Kim Ho-chang’s face lit up with certainty at that moment.
“Hey, Joo Sung-hyun.”
“President…”
“Don’t you dare use informal speech? Shut the fuck up.”
Kim Ho-chang had officially dropped the polite facade.
He was certain I was hiding something and wanted to corner me now.
I lowered my head, pretending to be flustered, and accepted the pressure.
Accepting was always important.
When the pressure didn’t break him, Kim Ho-chang dropped his next card.
“Joo Jung-chul.”
It was my father’s name. Maybe because they were married, the way he said it was oddly similar to what he’d do with Han Chae-kyung.
“Why suddenly mention my father?”
“The 9th Annam Village Bus line. I looked into it… he’s been driving for over twenty years, still a senior driver even though he’s eligible for a route captain position. Because he and the union chairman are on bad terms, he’s stuck on this garbage line.”
“President Kim, please watch your language.”
“What language? The company my father works for belongs to me, you bastard.”
Kim Ho-chang slammed his fist on the hospital bed, finally letting loose.
I stared at him with murder in my eyes. I just stared.
I wasn’t filling his cuck ego with pride. This was the right move right now.
It was true that my father’s job was under Kim Ho-chang’s control. He owned forty-eight percent of the shares, but the depot was entirely his.
Kim Ho-chang threatening my father’s job.
It was bullshit, but because of family I couldn’t lash out.
Kim Ho-chang had the perfect setup to believe he held all the cards.
I had played my acceptance card perfectly.
“Joo Sung-hyun, do you know what happens if I make one phone call?”
“You fucking— ah.”
You endured that well. If you’d cursed back, I would have just thrown it at you too.
Kim Ho-chang was trying to tame me. He immediately called someone and spoke loud enough for me to hear.
“Hello. Is there a senior driver named Joo Jung-chul? Starting tomorrow, assign him to the 9th bus daytime shift… that’s the best route on our line, right? I don’t know the method, so you handle it. That’s why I gave you the president’s seat.”
Kim Ho-chang had secured my father a good route with one phone call.
Showing off by “changing routes” felt childish. How much money did he even have?
Still, it gave him enough justification.
A flimsy excuse to betray his marriage to Han Chae-kyung.
I slowly turned my head to face Han Chae-kyung.
“Councilor Han, I’m sorry.”
“Manager Joo. Wait a moment.”
“I remember the promise we made last time. But… the other party is your husband, right? I can’t just gloss over it and walk away.”
I pretended to be torn, covering my face with both hands for a while, then confessed.
“Yes… I did it.”
“What? Speak clearly.”
“I met that friend of yours, Kwak Min-sun, at Councilor Han’s request.”
“And? Keep going.”
Kim Ho-chang’s momentum rose as he waved his hand.
I pretended to be broken, staring at the floor, and muttered weakly.
After a civil conversation with Kwak Min-sun, I had received a 2009 Samsung RoliPop phone.
That phone, released over sixteen years ago, contained some rather dangerous evidence.
Photos, notes, and text message screenshots.
Of course, that wasn’t enough to explain everything. Kim Ho-chang seemed to think the same.
“Evidence? What kind of evidence?”
“President, it’s—”
“Are you scared of my in-laws? It’s fine, just tell me. Don’t worry, just speak.”
Just, quickly.
Kim Ho-chang glared at me while urging me to open up, his wife Han Chae-kyung nearby.
By now, I was also sending Han Chae-kyung a resentful glare.
“Councilor Han, please do something.”
Stop sitting here like an idiot and try to stop your cuck husband. There was a blowjob promise in the council office; the cover needed to be at least this good.
“Manager Joo, don’t do this. Just leave for now. Later, calmly…”
“You think I can just leave when I don’t want to…!”
“What do you know?”
“…Yes. I know nothing. I don’t know why your husband sent someone to call me in the middle of the night… and I don’t know why Councilor Han is watching with her hands folded in this urgent situation. But I can guess. Councilor Han must have made another mistake.”
Han Chae-kyung stared at nothing in response.
Her grip on reality was slipping. She looked like she wanted to let go of the reins.
She who had bullied me without restraint in her prime years now learned of her young self’s whore past, tried to cover it up by fighting her friend, dragged me in to shut me up, and ended up in this mess.
Yet all that effort had failed, and now she was about to be exposed by her husband.
“Councilor Han, I warned you because I was concerned. A tail that gets too long will eventually be caught…”
“Shut your mouth and be quiet. Please.”
“No, I actually want to ask. How did this even happen? Please explain!”
“Stop talking about things only the two of you know and just spit it out already.”
Kim Ho-chang, completely unaware of how pathetic his own situation was, surged forward in momentum, while Han Chae-kyung’s entire face turned rigid like a mask.
The combined partner count of the two of them was 190.
When we went to the countryside, there were more rural administrative districts than the population of their experience counts.
The current situation had been triggered by that number.
Looking at Kim Ho-chang’s whore-like condition, it was likely he had been on tonics and Super Viagra even before becoming impotent.
If Han Chae-kyung hadn’t been 73, I would never have been exposed.
Anyway, the buildup was more than enough now. No need to delay any longer, so I decided to go all out.
“Joo Sung-hyun!”
Han Chae-kyung rushed toward me, arms outstretched in panic.
It was futile. After all, it was just a word.
“Sponsor.”
Kim Ho-chang’s eyes widened at my words. Did he really not know…?
Thinking about it, he probably hadn’t.
If he thought Han Chae-kyung was a virgin, he was truly an idiot, but how could he have known she was a 73-experience whore?
He probably thought she was just a normal virgin who casually dated a few guys and went to motels.
But Kim Ho-chang was about to learn the truth soon.
“What did you just say?”
“I said sponsor.”
“Shut up!”
“Councilor, it’s all over. …I received a request from Councilor Han and went to Kwak Min-sun, her former college friend, to obtain the data containing Councilor Han’s sponsor history from her university days. After I secured it, of course I handed it over to the Councilor here.”
I had wanted to protect Han Chae-kyung’s secret, but under pressure I had no choice but to confess.
The air in the hospital room turned ice-cold.
Kim Ho-chang stared at me with a yellowish face.
Han Chae-kyung froze, her hand hovering as if trying to stop my mouth.
Kim Ho-chang remained calm even after hearing that his wife was a whore. He just rested his hand on his side, as if his liver had taken a hit. …The silence in the room was so absolute that the air purifier’s lowest fan sound felt deafening.
“You were a whore?”
Kim Ho-chang’s hollow voice shattered the uncomfortable silence. Han Chae-kyung slowly turned her cracked face toward him.
“Honey, let me explain everything…”
“YOU WHORE!!!”
From this point on, the full melodrama began.
