The Student Council Is Completely Mine
The Lower Dragon we needed to dominate the student council had no wings. That was why the beast was ruthlessly ripping trees out of the ground and charging straight at me on all four legs. Even with one foreleg injured, its speed was terrifying. I had already pulled away from where Rachel was fighting. Now I stared at the Lower Dragon and began drawing up my mana.
“It’s time to begin.”
The Lower Dragon raised its uninjured foreleg, trying to swat me out of the air where I hovered at a moderate height. The limb came screaming toward me with a sound like tearing air, but it was easily stopped by the Iron Lion’s Greatsword.
No. Stopped wasn’t the right word.
Mountain Shaker
CRACK!
A sickening crunch of breaking bone exploded from the other foreleg. The one-ton ultra-heavy sword, its destructive power amplified by mana, slammed into the dragon. No matter how tough a dragon’s bones were, they couldn’t withstand that kind of impact without shattering.
The dragon glared at me with pure hatred. I remained at roughly the same altitude as before, now perched on a thick tree trunk I had switched to. “You shouldn’t be looking at me, should you?”
I smirked and hurled both the Iron Lion’s Greatsword and the Spear of Longinus toward it. Both forelegs were now crippled. The beast wouldn’t be able to move freely anymore. But to be absolutely safe, I needed to destroy at least three of its limbs. And I knew exactly how to finish this.
“Hey, look over here.”
I swung the Iron Lion’s Greatsword threateningly, pretending to aim for its head. Even a dragon covered in the hardest scales imaginable flinched at the sight of a one-ton blade whipping toward it at terrifying speed. On top of that, the sword moved as if it were alive, so simply batting it away wouldn’t neutralize the threat.
While the Lower Dragon’s attention was fixed on the Iron Lion’s Greatsword whistling through the air with murderous momentum, I closed in on its hind leg with the Spear of Longinus held close to my body. The moment I reached the hollow behind its knee—the joint that controlled leg movement—I unleashed the technique without mercy.
Hyper Stingray
Transcendent speed, perfect spearmanship, and a mythic-grade weapon combined into a single strike. The thrust punched straight through the Lower Dragon’s body as if it were paper.
KYYYYAAAAA!
With three legs crippled, the Lower Dragon screamed and staggered before collapsing in a heap. It was obvious it couldn’t move anymore with three out of four limbs destroyed.
KUOOOOO!
At this point the creature would normally use its cheap, underhanded pattern of summoning its minions. But I had already anticipated that. Rachel was already fighting the summoned beasts.
“Where do you think you’re going?!”
Rachel blocked the minions trying to answer their master’s call. She grabbed one and casually ripped it in half. I had no idea how she could tear apart a monster covered in tough muscle and hide like it was paper, but then again… it wasn’t exactly surprising coming from someone who could lift a steel gate weighing over ten tons.
“Not coming when called, huh?”
When its minions failed to appear, the Lower Dragon opened its maw wide in even greater fury. This was the pattern that appeared once its stamina fell below thirty percent—Dragon Breath. But it wouldn’t work on me. I already knew the perfect counter.
I maneuvered the Spear of Longinus and stabbed deep into the fleshy valve on the roof of its wide-open mouth—the part that could open and close. The dragon panicked from the sudden agony and was shocked that no flames erupted.
“The gas stored inside its body has to flow out through the roof of the mouth to complete the breath. I just blocked that part,” I explained with a wicked grin. The dragon thrashed in helpless rage, but that was all it could do.
Three broken legs. No breath attack. I was watching it calmly from high ground where it couldn’t possibly reach me. In other words, the dragon had no moves left.
“It’s over.”
I raised the Iron Lion’s Greatsword and combined two skills to activate Earthquake Wave. An overwhelming amount of mana poured into the blade, transforming into explosive speed and murderous power. The sword came crashing down onto the dragon’s head—its legs were too damaged to dodge.
Earthquake Wave
The sound of bones snapping echoed throughout the entire forest. No matter how transcendentally tough dragon bone was, it couldn’t endure this impact. The skull split open easily. The Iron Lion’s Greatsword also activated its special effect.
Ignores the target’s defense!
It was a trait for blunt-weapon-type strikes that crushed and smashed rather than cut or sliced. The ability allowed it to ignore thick armor and tough hide, delivering direct shock to the internal organs. Naturally, the Lower Dragon’s hard scales and skull couldn’t absorb all the impact. The brain protected inside was pulverized.
The dragon twitched for a moment before turning into a corpse with a caved-in head. Its eyeballs bulged out, bloody tears streamed from its eyes, and blood poured from its nose as it collapsed in a miserable heap.
You have defeated an unbelievable strong enemy!
Acquired 840,000 experience points!
“That’s what I’m talking about!” I shouted.
The equipment I carried was so absurdly powerful that the biggest problem when fighting dragons—piercing their hide—had been laughably easy. I looked at the Spear of Longinus.
“I’m only using one percent of its power, yet it treats a Lower Dragon’s hide like paper?”
Once my stats reached their peak and this weapon was fully unleashed, it would become a monstrous tool capable of piercing not only Upper Dragons but even Evil Dragons.
The Spear of Longinus absorbs the dragon’s soul and blood.
The Spear of Longinus slightly acknowledges you.
You can now use 2% of the spear’s performance.
To unlock all of its power, I simply had to do this—hunt dragons and prove my strength. It only responded to dragons. Other monsters wouldn’t work; only dragonkin would open its true potential.
“Now I just need to take this Lower Dragon’s corpse back and we’re done.”
I grinned and headed toward Rachel. She had already finished off most of the minions. After twisting the head off the last one like she was opening a bottle cap, Rachel—covered head to toe in blood—looked at me with an innocent, airheaded smile.
“Asbel! I killed them all!”
“Good job, Rachel.”
“So now we just carry the corpses and we’re finished?”
“That’s right. Just a moment.”
I sent the Iron Lion’s Greatsword to bring down Cassandra, who had been watching everything from a tree branch. She was staring at both me and Rachel with a slightly frightened expression.
“To think the two of you would take down a dragon and all its minions by yourselves…”
Well, I had hunted plenty of Lower Dragons before. The difficult part about dragons was their overwhelming strength, their breath attacks, and their nearly impenetrable hide. Once you had the right equipment to pierce that hide, they became simple opponents that only spammed predictable patterns. This hunt had only been possible because of the Spear of Longinus. Rachel had also obtained power that would have been absolutely impossible under normal circumstances after learning to use her Descent of the War God skill.
Heroine Rachel’s skill Descent of the War God has accumulated sufficient proficiency and risen one rank.
Increased from D to C!
Even a rank increase. Everything was perfect.
“Alright. Let’s take the corpses and head back to the academy. Cassie?”
“I can handle it. I’ve just been watching until now, so it’s my turn to work. Drawing a temporary spatial teleportation circle big enough to move something this large will probably take about twenty minutes. Go ahead and rest.”
Cassie skillfully pulled various magic tools from her bag and walked toward the dragon’s corpse. She drew a spatial teleportation magic circle in the forest with surprising ease, one large enough to transport the massive Lower Dragon.
We all stepped onto the circle and returned to the academy together.
The next day, I became a celebrity.
“Are you satisfied?”
My relaxed, slightly mischievous tone left no one able to speak. Gotrose and the Lions’ Legion he led were staring at me with eyes full of near-worship. Rutrec of the Truth Research Society showed visible agitation behind his usual poker face. And Luspontia looked at me with the expression of a mere mortal facing an unreachable genius.
Envy, reverence, astonishment. Three emotions mixed together, but one thing was clear.
“This is… more than enough.”
“More than enough, I’d say.”
“I admit it. You were a huge help.”
Watching the three of them bow their heads to me, I smiled.
“I have given you what you wanted. Permanent freezing magic, a top-grade spirit master, and a Lower Dragon hunt. Proceed with these three tasks. I will actively support the faction that receives the highest evaluation at the final exams. I also plan to allocate next semester’s budget to that faction.”
Then I spoke a single sentence very much in the style of the Steel Empire. It carried multiple meanings. It displayed my authority as both class president and student council president. It was also a warning that the three factions could no longer treat me lightly or ignore me. From now on, these three factions would find it difficult to disregard my words.
An existence that belonged to no faction yet could exert absolute influence. That was who I was. I had achieved it with my own power, without anyone’s help. Of course the equipment had played the biggest role, but this display should have been enough to prove that my own ability couldn’t be ignored either.
“That is all. You are dismissed.”
At my words, the three representatives of the factions rose from their seats. I stood up as well. But I already knew how they would react. These things always happened like clockwork after the class president election event. The only difference was that previously I had watched from afar, whereas now I was the one at the center of it all.
“President? I would like to offer you a gift.”
After waiting for the other factions to leave so that only the two of us remained, Rutrec approached me. It wasn’t exactly a bribe. It was closer to a token of respect offered to the class president who had displayed overwhelming ability and strength. It was the highest form of respect any faction could show the student council president. Not every president received this. It was only possible when genuine respect existed.
“I have already asked Lady Cassandra to prepare the White Sea for you. Please support her in creating the highest quality White Sea and then give it to me.”
I accepted the gift. It would have looked cooler to refuse, but my current situation meant I needed every bit of help I could get.
“Understood. I will bring you the absolute best.”
Rutrec bowed with a face full of respect. After he left the conference room, Gotrose was waiting for me this time.
“Chairman.”
Even the way he addressed me had changed to the highest honorific.
“I would like to offer you a gift.”
“Please prepare weapons and armor for Rachel. That would make me very happy to receive.”
Gotrose nodded at my words. “I will provide whatever you desire. From now on, the Lions’ Legion will stand unconditionally on the Chairman’s side.”
I waved my hand in thanks while avoiding his burdensome gaze and left. Luspontia… did not come. Her strong pride must have made her furious that someone who wasn’t even part of any faction was suddenly shining so brightly. I wasn’t particularly surprised. But no matter how much jealousy Luspontia felt toward me, one thing had become certain.
Whether she liked it or not, she would have to follow my words from now on. Only then could her faction continue to exist.
With this, the student council is completely mine.
It was the moment I had truly reached the absolute peak of all students, not merely in name.
