Sea-a's Grateful Siblings
After putting Sea-a in the car first, I headed to meet Han Kwang-gi, the lead attorney from the legal team who had personally shown up for this matter on such short notice.
“You've arrived, young master.”
In Korea, Dike, the law firm specializing in hunter-related lawsuits, had grown with support from Hanwol Group and the Calione family in the past. It was now one of the top firms in the country.
“Thanks so much for coming so quickly on such short notice.”
“On the contrary, we're the ones who should be grateful that you reached out to us first. The consigliere has ordered me to take full charge and see this through to the end until it's resolved, especially since one of your Famiglia members was targeted.”
“……The consigliere?”
“Yes. And he mentioned wanting to have a meal together after a long time.”
“……I'll reach out to him separately.”
“Understood. We'll get started on investigating the materials related to this case.”
Han Kwang-gi bowed his head politely and turned to leave.
Honestly, I was startled when he first showed up as the lead here. He was one of the named NPCs from the game.
Mad Lawyer. That was his moniker—a lawyer who would do anything to win the cases he took on. But the story didn't always portray him as a villain. Even if he won for a wicked client, he'd make sure they faced justice at his own hands if they were truly guilty—a vigilante of sorts.
A new character has been added to the Character Compendium!
(N) Character Compendium
And it looks like he's been registered in the Character Compendium through this incident. Since no one else was added, it seems only those classified as named characters in the game get entered.
I headed to where Sea-a was waiting.
Right in front of the police station. I could see Sea-a talking animatedly on her smartphone. It looked like she was explaining the situation to her siblings after being suddenly dragged in by the detectives.
“Got it, Sia. I'll be home soon, so stay put with Siwoo, okay?”
She ended the call with those words and let out a sigh, probably to shake off the tension.
“Phew. Thank you so much. If it weren't for you, Eugene, my siblings and I would all be in deep trouble.”
She bowed her head toward me.
“Once again, thank you. You saved my life, Eugene.”
She must have been pretty shaken up too. But she'd kept her mouth shut and waited as I instructed, and now here she was expressing her gratitude.
That alone was more than enough for me.
“Just doing what anyone would. By the way, it's late—no buses or subways running. How were you planning to get home?”
“Huh? Oh…… I was just gonna walk somehow.”
“……I'll give you a ride.”
“Pardon?”
“I've got time to spare anyway.”
Right on cue, a black sedan pulled up in front of me.
“Come on. Don't go through unnecessary hassle this late.”
“Uh? B-but, I'm really fine……”
“I'd worry leaving you alone like this. Come on, hop in.”
“Whoa?! Ah!”
In the end, she ended up on my back, and I deposited her in the back seat.
The seat's texture must have been fascinating, because she bounced around a bit while sitting.
“Wow…… This is your car, Eugene? The fabric feels so soft and plush—it's amazing.”
I'd thought the same when I first rode in it, so I couldn't help but chuckle.
“Anyway, mind giving me your home address?”
“Huh? Oh, our home address……”
The address she gave was about a 15-minute drive—not too far.
“Then we'll head out.”
“Whoaaa……”
At Han Seojun's announcement of departure, Sea-a's face lit up in awe.
She'd looked so down at the station, which had worried me, but seeing her smile like this eased my mind too.
Soon enough, we arrived in front of Sea-a's home. I was just going to drop her off and leave when she paused while getting out and looked back at me.
“Oh, Eugene. Since I owe you one this time…… and my siblings really want to thank you personally, why don't you come up for a cup of tea?”
“Your siblings?”
“Yeah, they hear a lot about you from me, so they're curious. Oh, the driver should come up too!”
She called out to Han Seojun in the driver's seat, but he just gave an awkward smile.
“No parking around here, so I'll have to find a spot elsewhere. Thanks for the thought—I'm sorry.”
“Oh, no! Just driving us here is more than enough—thank you. What about you, Eugene……?”
“They'd be disappointed if I just left.”
“Exactly.”
She grinned at my response and got out first. I followed, and she opened the gate ahead, slipping inside.
“The landlady on the first floor is sleeping, so we have to be quiet……”
“Got it.”
It was a two-story house, I figured. Just then—
Clunk!
The door on the second floor flew open, and a kid who looked about seven came barreling down the stairs at top speed, crashing into Sea-a.
“Sis!”
“Aigoo, seriously. I told you to go to bed if I was late.”
“How could I sleep when the cops took you away!”
The tearful reunion unfolded right before my eyes. Spotting me, the kid jumped in surprise, blushed, bowed deeply, and said,
“Nice to meet you. I'm Kim Siwoo, your sister's little brother.”
“Uh…… sure.”
As if his earlier antics were a lie, he was incredibly polite from the get-go.
“This way. Our place is on this floor.”
Siwoo led the way up the stairs. Sea-a and I followed slowly, entering the room he opened.
“Oh.”
The scene before me was a warmly familiar homey interior.
Come to think of it, had I ever been inside a proper family home since coming to this world? After possessing this body in the City of Seoul, the Calione family mansion had become my default. This kind of sight felt incredibly nostalgic.
In the short time I'd had this body, I'd grown used to massive estates and suites. The familiar scent of fabric softener in the air, the yellowed linoleum flooring, the cluttered wallpaper—it all reminded me of my original home, stirring up old longing.
“Sissssis!”
Another kid spotted Sea-a and tackled her in a hug.
“Sis, you're not hurt anywhere, right?”
“Of course not—who do you think your sis is?”
Sea-a patted the child gently, speaking kindly.
“We've got a guest—say hi first.”
“Oh, right!”
The girl jumped back in surprise and gave me a belly-button bow.
“H-hi! I've heard a lot about you from Sis.”
The cute little girl. Her age reminded me of my sister Jiyoon. She even looked so much like a young Sea-a it was uncanny. While Siwoo's eyes seemed tough and resolute, this girl's sparkled with lively intelligence.
“I'm Kim Sia, Sea-a sis's little sister and Siwoo's big sis. I heard you're helping my sis a ton at the academy.”
And…… well, she seemed awfully mature for her age.
“Hey! Why are you the big sis? We're the same age!”
“I was born first, so I'm the big sis. And Sis said no fighting in front of guests.”
“Ugh……”
……Twins, huh. The girl was apparently the older one.
“I'll bring some tea right out. Mind waiting here with the kids?”
“Sure. Excuse me, then.”
I nodded and stepped inside, settling on the sofa in the living room.
Sea-a's home was small but the picture of an ordinary family place. Two rooms, one bathroom, and a dining table big enough for four.
From what I'd heard, after their parents passed, the landlady had kindly let them stay here for cheap.
“Bro. Did you really save our sis?”
“Oppa. Did you save our sis?”
The twins plopped down on either side of me the moment Sea-a left, firing off questions.
“Are you in the same club as our sis?”
“Are you the club president?”
She must have talked about me to them before, because the questions poured in about all sorts of things.
Yep, total kids.
“Are you super strong like the other heroes? Stronger than Might Guy?”
“Are you stronger than our sis? How strong?”
Curiosity of children is no sin, they say. I answered their barrage one by one. Soon, Sea-a came out with a tray of tea.
“Sorry to keep you waiting. Kids! Eugene looks tired!”
“Sis sis! This bro's super strong!”
“Sis sis! Oppa's amazing!”
“……Huh?”
Sea-a looked flustered, surprised by how smitten the siblings already were with me.
“The kids seem really sweet and smart.”
“You think so? Haha……”
She set down four cups on the table as the kids beamed at the praise.
“Glad they like you. Anyway, introductions: the girl is Sia, and the rowdy one next to her is Siwoo.”
“Sis! Rowdy?!”
“What.”
“He's rowdy……”
……I could pretty much guess the family hierarchy now.
“And Sia, Siwoo—this is Han Yujin, our club president and my boss.”
Of course, her “boss” probably just meant like a workplace superior, but hearing it from her felt oddly embarrassing. After all, at the academy, only Jinwoo called me boss, and this was the first time from Sea-a.
“Haven't introduced myself to the kids yet. Han Yujin. As Sea-a said, I'm the president of our club Famiglia.”
“Nice to meet you, Eugene oppa.”
“Nice to meet you, Eugene hyung.”
They bowed again politely, even after the first hello. Sea-a watched with a fond smile.
“Alright, everyone—finish your milk and off to bed, or you'll sleep in tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow's a day off—we can sleep in.”
“……Hey! Sis, Siwoo and I will go crash first.”
Siwoo still looked reluctant to sleep, but Sia grabbed his hand, waved goodbye to us, and whisked him into their room.
With the kids gone, the house finally quieted down.
“The kids are full of energy, huh? Makes me worry they won't grow up disciplined with a house like this.”
Both of Sea-a's parents had been heroes. Sadly, they'd died together on duty, leaving her as head of the household overnight……
She probably couldn't have a normal school life.
Even if her mana was low, the uniqueness of space magic was immense—like how she'd been suspected this time. The reason she was scraping by like this was surely the kids. Now that they were kindergarten age, she had a bit more breathing room, but she still needed money for their sake.
“Still, they've turned out great thanks to you. They seem talented too.”
“……Huh? Talented?”
I'd been skeptical at first, but when the kids sat next to me earlier, the system window had popped up. That confirmed it for me.

[Kim Sia]
[Kim Siwoo]
That explained why Sea-a, a space magic user, never appeared in the original story. And why these two kids ended up in the Character Compendium.
