Crazy. This is Insane.
"Crazy. This is insane."
Staring blankly at the endless stream of furniture pouring in through the freight elevator, Jinwoo muttered to himself.
Every time the elevator came to a stop, movers from the relocation center would swarm out, hauling in antique furniture with an old-world elegance. With each piece carried by a single worker, Jinwoo's jaw dropped lower and lower.
"Each one of them is an Awakener?"
"Th-that guy over there is carrying stuff with his hands behind his back... What the hell is that?"
The other kids seemed just as stunned as Jinwoo. Sea-a, who had been gaping in silence, finally spoke up cautiously.
"A company full of Awakeners like that has to charge at least tens of millions of credits per job, right?! I've heard rumors that chaebol families only use Awakener crews for renovations... B-but I never thought I'd see it for real!"
Clearly shocked, Sea-a slapped her palms to her cheeks mid-sentence, buzzing with excitement on her own.
"My dad knows someone who runs a remodeling company, so I just asked for a little help."
Surprisingly, everything I said was true.
The Calione family's businesses permeated Korea's industries under the radar. And the crew I'd called belonged to one of them: the "cleanup" specialists under Calione, the [Move Family].
[Move Family]—they were the crew that handled site cleanups after major incidents in the organization, experts at total rebuilds with no rivals in the field.
Maybe that's why their work was so swift and thorough.
"Where does this go?"
"Just set it by that pillar over there."
As the furniture filled the room, what had looked like a mere warehouse—Z Room—began taking on the shape of a livable space.
"Robert! Fill this whole floor with wood paneling—bring it over!"
"We're putting up a wall from that pillar to here!"
"You engraved all the spells on that side, right? Test it again!"
"Anti-projectile spells on that wall! Antibacterial on this one!"
The former warehouse was transforming into a fortress, a proper base. I watched with satisfaction until Youngje, who had been quietly observing, pointed to an empty space.
"Boss. That area's still totally bare. Something coming for it?"
"Over there? The stuff for that should be arriving any second..."
No sooner had I spoken than the elevator ground to a halt with an especially heavy thud. The massive iron doors slid open to reveal Inomiya Haru, clutching a clipboard.
"'International Trade Club' president?"
Brushing past a flustered Youngje, I approached the elevator.
"Faster than I expected."
"Young— I mean, thanks to the support from Familia president's people, we made great time."
The elevator was packed floor-to-ceiling with gym equipment. Sea-a's jaw hit the floor this time.
"An-Another String?! Th-that's the gear only S-rank guilds use! Legend has it each piece costs tens of millions of credits...!"
"It's for me and the club members to use, so I figured we might as well get the best."
As equipment designed for Awakeners with superhuman physiques, the price was beyond imagination, just as Sea-a said. They didn't even sell to just anyone, no matter how rich. But thanks to Haru's connections, we'd snagged them easier than expected.
In the game, you could only afford these when you were swimming in cash. I'd just asked my dad to buy some gym gear for the academy, and he'd handed over his card without hesitation. Got every body-part machine we needed.
Money really is the best.
"Still some upstairs you haven't moved?"
"Yes, about seven machines left by the incinerator."
"Good."
Overhearing us, Sea-a flopped to the floor and started giggling like she'd lost her mind.
"Haha, ha! With facilities like this, we're on par with an S-rank guild, right...? Calling it a club room feels way off now."
"The on-call room, showers, and recovery room haven't even arrived yet. Can't burn out already."
"Oh man... I'm in heaven... even if I die happy..."
Leaving Sea-a trembling with excitement, I scanned the club room.
Thanks to the [Move Family]'s help, nearly everything was inside. All that was left was positioning the remaining items, installing partition walls, and adding showers and amenities.
"...Nothing left for us to do."
We literally had no part left to play.
Unless a commission came in—but we'd only posted a promo on the academy board and taken it down quick. Expecting work was a stretch—
"Ex-excuse me... I saw the community post... Is, is this Familia Club...?"
—or so I thought. The odds weren't zero after all.
Guess persistence pays off in the end.
No way someone actually came from that post?
A woman stepped into the newly cleared space amid the chaos of moving boxes and materials. Her yellow name tag marked her as a second-year senior.
She looked as shocked by the mess as we'd expect—no one pictured this inside. Before she could bolt, I moved to grab her, but someone was faster.
"Yup yup, that's us! What brings you? Wait... you saw the board, right? Came for my number?!"
Thinking she was the girl from the post, Jinwoo twisted his body weirdly as he approached. She flinched back at the bizarre display.
"Huh? Wh-what are you talking about...?"
"Ignore this weirdo! Haha! It's a mess, huh? Construction started today! Come on in—yep, this is Familia!"
Sea-a's save kept our first client from fleeing. Sighing in relief, I headed to the one spot that already looked like a proper "office"—the Familia president's room—and prepared to greet her.
It was simple: empty bookshelves, a table, chairs. Good thing I'd set it up in advance for situations like this.
Club members sat flanking me. Across sat our first client, a second-year girl.
"H-hi! I'm Lee Se-ri, second year."
"Yes. Han Yujin, first-year Familia president."
I gave a slight bow. She bowed deeper in return.
"Sorry, senior. Still under construction, so no refreshments..."
"Oh, no worries! I figured it was your first day, so I brought some snacks and tea—nothing fancy."
She waved off Sea-a's sheepish head-scratch and opened her bag, pulling out a bag of cookies and a thermos.
"Uh... I whipped these up quick as a club founding gift...? W-would you like some?"
She glanced at me cautiously. With everyone else's eyes locked on the treats, I nodded.
"Thank you. If not for the remodel, we should've hosted you."
"N-no, I'm the one who came on short notice!"
She shook her head, pouring tea into paper cups and setting one before each of us. Shy but sneaking peeks at our reactions.
"...This is."
A familiar taste and aroma. It matched the tea Parnello brewed at home sometimes.
"Hehe. It's fairy flower tea, only from Fairy Garden. Hope it suits you. Oh, I recommend dipping the cookies first."
So Parnello's brew was fairy flower tea... I thought it was just fancy brand black tea. Turns out it's steeped from dungeon-picked petals.
"Hehe... Seeing you enjoy it makes me so happy."
"That's how good your cooking skills are, senior."
The other three nodded in agreement. Blushing, Lee Se-ri ducked her head.
"N-no, not really... Oh, but this room's amazing... So noisy outside, but dead quiet in here?"
"Ah, yes. As a client space, we went all-out on soundproofing."
The walls around my room were made of materials that blocked not just eavesdropping but external magic too. With [Move Family] adding spells, no grand mage could spy on us.
"Don't worry about leaks if that's the concern."
She looked like she had sensitive info. I reassured her and met her eyes calmly.
"Saw the community post, so you're here for a commission, right? Mind sharing what you need, senior?"
I kept my voice soft and friendly to put her at ease.
She nodded and began carefully.
"Y-yes. First, formally: I'm Lee Se-ri, president of the 'Recipe Development Club,' here to commission Familia."
Wait. 'Recipe Development Club'?
...Right. One of the clubs unlocked by clearing club quests. Its president handled cooking content with unique recipes. She appeared late-game too, with a solid fanbase on the forums—an NPC I remembered well.
Long curly silver hair, big eyes, oversized top. Seeing her in person, I got why users called her "bunny" and loved her.
But.
"What we're requesting is... P-please teach our tormentors from the 'Ranger Club' a lesson!"
"...Pardon?"
What did this girl just say?
