The spark for writing it came from my curiosity: what if I took the webnovels I always read, those so-called "female-oriented romance fantasy child-rearing tales," and twisted them into a male-oriented world?
It was one of about five candidates lined up after I finished my Naver novel... I never imagined it'd be the first one I'd dive into.
Still, turning a female-geared ropan childcare story into a gender-swapped world ended up being a blast!
In a way, it's got that same vibe as the plausibility in Moriarty, where all the major characters got genderbent haha.
Anyway, the big milestone here is that this is the first work in my entire author career that I completed without a single hiatus!
Even my most diligent run with Mena Juk had overload moments that forced breaks, and the same went for my other stories.
To be honest, I hit a massive slump not long ago. That's when it hit me: am I just scraping by on the ashes left after burning myself out on Mena Juk?
My absolute peak was back when I was serializing that webnovel on Naver. A sudden diabetes diagnosis, plus the shift away from live updates, slammed me with a huge creative drought.
Heck, the contest entry I submitted after that was the only one in my career that got axed midway...
But with this Ro-Yuka, no hiatuses whatsoever (though I was a tad late on uploads sometimes), and solid results to boot—looks like my comeback was a success. What a relief!
Honestly, it felt like the first time in ages that I truly enjoyed writing again!
So here's to pushing forward as a hardworking author, delivering more fun tales to all of you—your Kim Mamo!
Oh, and just so you know, after a short breather, my comeback project is in the works: a Puppy House novel!
Thinking of using this new one to really recapture that beginner's spirit haha.
