Chapter Title: For Now, Throw the ADC
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Right after the first set ended.
The feedback in the waiting room wasn't a harsh atmosphere at all.
"Alright, our bot lane. Keep doing what you've been doing."
The coach encouraged the bot duo, acting like nearly throwing away a set was no big deal.
"If you get all deflated and play it safe, only going even, it's over—win or lose, I'll be the first one pissed. Got it?"
"Absolutely not backing off."
"Don't worry."
The bot laners understood their roles perfectly.
Our team had an abnormally strong top and mid to begin with.
Just locating the enemy jungler let us shut them out of lane play, turning it into a hugely favorable game.
"So, next game, let's just do something we can afford to throw away."
The coach showed zero intention of trying to keep the ADC alive.
2nd set ban/pick phase.
The enemy bot comp was the classic Iz-Carmann duo, while we went Nili-Racam.
Since Nili's skill blocked Iz's core damage skill—the enemy ADC's bread and butter—we could seize lane priority, and it was easy to aim for level 6 first using her passive.
In other words, we could hit level 6 first and look for an early initiate with our ult, or alternatively, with Nili as throwaway bait down bot—most dives don't land with ult up—Racam's mobility would come online even sooner.
And that played out perfectly in-game.
The enemy bot got hooked by Bell's initiate and could do nothing but bounce around helplessly before fountain-hopping back home.
Of course, Ox—as always—hadn't thought about it that deeply.
I said go, so he went.
"Eun-seol, how do you always know when the enemy jungler's coming?"
"Enemy ADC's played Nili plenty, so they know her level 6 timing's fast—no way they don't call the jungler."
Truth be told, catching her super early or right before 6 would've been ideal, but the enemy mid must've whined, so they wasted their early turn gank on mid.
So I was sure that was their best timing.
The junglers had tangled paths, so Hunter needed objectives to hit ult-ready levels, but our top and mid had a weight class mismatch—DS had no priority no matter what champs they picked—and now even their barely surviving bot was gone.
Bottom line: We kept DS Gaming from even showing their faces in the river.
Enemy mid Seven picked Miho, so I countered with Galleon and held my lane rock-solid.
That alone starved V's growth—no chance of diving in.
Especially with Maru up top at full rage gauge—no entry there either.
In the end, as always, their only play was a forced initiate.
And that's when our bot's god-tier teamfight synergy shone.
"Go in! I'll cover you!"
I reconfirmed from slightly behind, and Nili ulted as Galleon ult range bloomed right in the center.
—Boom!
Strike's ult prettily packaged and gathered the whole enemy team for a knock-up, then Ox rode his flag in to ult-lock them down.
Finally, rage-filled Plook's Maru ulted them into a wall for full stun.
Enemy had nothing they could do.
In seconds, all enemy portraits went grayscale.
Towers crumbled in a flash.
The moment the enemy respawned for their last desperate stand, my fist slammed down on the nexus's final health bar.
I pulled off my device and grabbed my teammates heading back to the waiting room, grinning as I spoke.
"We can end it next set, right?"
No one said otherwise.
