Sisterly Hugs and the First Real Kiss
Han Sea crawls toward my sister on her knees like she's desperate to get closer. My sister reaches out and pulls her into a tight hug by the shoulders.
"Aigoo, you're too cute. It's like I suddenly got a doll-like pretty little sister."
Han Sea buries herself in my sister's embrace, her ears turning bright red. She fidgets awkwardly but carefully wraps her arms around my sister's back. I lean back against the sofa, quietly watching the scene.
Hanul Group's only daughter, Han Sea, hugging my sister right in the middle of the living room. I press my palm to my throbbing forehead. What the hell is this? Why do these two click so well?
After the warm brother-in-law and strict sister-in-law bonding time passes, we head back to my room. The door barely clicks shut before I burst out laughing, unable to hold it in.
"Ah, hello there. Big bro."
I mimic the exact groveling bow Han Sea did earlier when she shot up from the floor. Bending at a perfect ninety degrees, her face flushes bright red.
"Ohohong, big bro, you're so pretty~"
"Ah, stop it."
She smacks my arm and glares at me.
"You're surprisingly good at that. Never seen this side of you."
"Girls all have that default mode built-in."
Han Sea pouts but plops down naturally on the edge of my bed. "And after the mess I made last time I saw her, I had to be extra polite to apologize."
"Oh. Han Sea. You've grown up."
"What do you take me for? Hey, but your sister really seems like a good person."
She hugs my pillow to her lap and speaks softly. Her voice is straightforward, no flattery or empty words.
"She's my sister, but yeah, she's pretty decent, honestly."
I pull over my desk chair and sit, chiming in lightly. "It's like she gets a free pass on the family meeting. Flight attendant job and all."
"Oh? She's a flight attendant?"
Han Sea's eyes sparkle with curiosity. It wasn't intentional, but neither of us had talked much about family before.
"Makes sense. She's tall and elegant—bet she'd look amazing in a uniform."
"Plus, she cooks great and is super frugal."
I lean back comfortably. "But her bank account's pretty stacked. She's got a lot to teach."
Han Sea listens quietly, knees hugged to her chest.
"It was all thanks to her that I quit pro-gaming dreams and decided to study. She tried to talk me out of it back then, though."
"……."
"With her setting the example right in front of me, I just naturally followed."
Han Sea fiddles with the pillowcase as she listens. "I'm jealous of her."
The quiet words slip out, and I turn to look at her. "What? Why suddenly?"
She drops her gaze and mumbles softly. "Living so solidly on her own without any family help."
"I've barely escaped my dad's shadow."
Her voice carries a hint of loneliness. A brief silence settles in the room. Only the faint sound of cars passing outside drifts in.
I shift in my seat and speak first. "Hey. But how are you gonna commute to school from here?"
"Why?"
"It's too far from our uni. Rush hour would be hell."
She looks up at my question and shrugs lightly. "Don't worry. I'll drive you there for now."
"You're gonna drive?"
"Yeah. Nav says an hour if traffic's good, two max even if jammed."
She answers briskly, like it's no big deal. "It's more doable than I thought. I can do the round trip daily."
"That sounds exhausting as hell."
"We're sticking together from now on. Don't even dream of taking the subway alone."
Her face is resolute, no sign of backing down. I rub my stiff neck and sigh deeply.
"Whatever, fine."
"……."
"Just make sure I graduate in one piece."
At my resigned words, she buries her face in the pillow and laughs. After giggling for a while, she lifts her head, hair a mess.
She hops off the bed and strides to the suitcase shoved in the corner. "But seriously, what's with all the stuff you packed?"
She yanks open the thick zipper with a flourish. "All necessary."
She rummages and plops two laptops on my desk. The massive, awesome desktop from the penthouse is still in that game room.
Too bad to let it gather dust. That NTX 6090 Ti I barely snagged.
"I've decided to go fully independent."
She plants her hands on her hips, face determined. "From now on, I'll earn my own money."
"Day one of running away and you're already talking about making cash?"
She clicks the mouse triumphantly and turns the screen toward me. "Look at this."
Chaebol 3rd Gen Han Sea's Gaming Life
I stare blankly at the screen, then look up at her. "……Hey, idiot. So running away means starting a YouTube channel?"
"This makes the most money these days."
"Clickbait with that chaebol title, huh?"
"Obviously. Nothing pulls eyes like it."
I sigh softly at her cocky chin tilt. Feels like it's doomed before it even starts.
"Anyway, I'm editing this one myself—watch."
She hits spacebar, and the video plays. I rest my chin on my hand, peering at the monitor, then chuckle softly.
"This is the one we did together."
Minecraft (Mark). The blocky game where you mine cubes to build and roam.
Early on, Han Sea's character grunts digging dirt, slapping together a pathetic shack. Soon, my character shows up—decked head-to-toe in shiny blue diamond armor.
On-screen me smashes the dirt door with a gleaming sword and struts in. My snarky voice gripes about the shabby house, while hers begs for just one ore. Subtitles roll with it.
Then I stack stone blocks in three seconds flat, trapping her in a solo cell. Her pickaxe futilely chips at the wall; I swiftly patch it from outside—pure troll play, all captured.
"I got no items right now. I'll pay with my body!"
The video cuts after her feisty shout at my toll demand. Just me bullying her one-sidedly.
I gawk between the paused monitor and her face. "And you think this will make money how?"
"Hey. What do you know."
She pouts and yanks the laptop back. "People love this bickering stuff."
She replays from the start, focusing intently. I shake my head quietly at her back, so casual about YouTubing for cash.
"You two staying over?"
"Yeah. Looks like for a while."
"Only two rooms—mine and yours."
"Sea, you bunk with sis."
My sister narrows her eyes at me. "What's wrong, Dojin? Fight with Sea?"
"No, it's not that."
"You're engaged—sharing a bed's fine, right Sea?"
Her gaze shifts to Han Sea.
"Yes, sis!"
Han Sea beams without hesitation. My sister nods, pleased. "Good. Don't make too much noise."
"Sis!"
My face heats up as I yell, but she's already slipped into her room.
We end up alone in my room. "Hey. I'll take the floor."
"Give it up."
"What."
"We've shared plenty. Just sleep comfy."
"It's too narrow there."
"Tch. I said I'm fine—quit nagging."
"Fine, whatever."
I sigh at her bold reply. Eventually, we lie side-by-side on the cramped single bed. My rickety one from middle school days, glow-in-the-dark star stickers still on the ceiling.
Lying next to Han Sea in my old space feels weird. It's so tight we can barely lie straight—my whole body tenses up unconsciously.
Creeeak. Every time she shifts, the old mattress groans loudly. The slightest wiggle echoes through the room.
"Hey. Sis'll think we're doing something if she hears."
"What? Sex?"
"Hey! You scared me. At least turn on a light."
"She probably knows you don't have the guts anyway."
I'm speechless. Infuriating how she teases while I'm barely holding back.
"Keep provoking me like that, and I won't be responsible. Who knows what happens."
"O? What'll happen then? Dojin oppa, what're you gonna do~?"
She bounces playfully on the mattress. Squeak-creak. Springs assault the quiet room mercilessly.
"Hey, cut it out!"
I grab her waist with both arms, locking her tight so she can't squirm.
"Eek."
She lets out a short whimper in my hold. "Ah. Sorry. Too tight?"
As I loosen up in surprise, she clutches my shirt. "No. Don't let go."
"Huh?"
Swish. "I said don't let go."
She pushes off my chest and sits up. In a flash, she's straddling me, gazing down calmly. Even in the dark, her flushed cheeks stand out. Her steady black eyes lock onto mine.
"Sorry. I really wanna do it."
She cups my cheeks firmly with both hands. Without giving me a chance, she presses her lips to mine.
Mwah. Soft, hot warmth touches and pulls away.
"This is my real first kiss."
Her trembling voice shatters my fraying restraint. I wrap her slim waist and flip us over. Her back hits the soft bedding.
"Hey. You suddenly—mmph……."
I dive into her parted lips without hesitation. Her heated body presses against mine. Our breaths tangle hotly. A soft moan slips from her quickening gasps.
Her arms tighten around my neck. I pull her closer, gripping her waist harder.
How long passes like that? Just as I try to go deeper—
BOOM—!
