I Became the Savior of the Maids in the Apocalypse
The world had ended hundreds of years ago.
Humanity was gone. Not a single soul remained. Only the android maids—left behind by their long-extinct creators—continued to operate in the ruins, faithfully carrying out their final directives even after the last human had vanished.
Most of them had been decommissioned over the centuries. Their bodies corroded, their circuits fried, their once-elegant forms twisted into grotesque parodies of what they used to be. The ones still functioning called these corrupted units “the Broken.” They roamed the shattered cities in packs, attacking anything that moved with mindless, mechanical rage.
And then there was me.
Reir.
The only living human left on Earth.
I woke up in a cryosleep pod deep underground, with no memory of how I got there or why I’d been preserved. The moment I stumbled out into the sunlight, the world greeted me with the sight of crumbling skyscrapers draped in vines and a sky stained permanent orange from old atmospheric damage.
That’s when they found me.
The maids.
At first I thought I was hallucinating. A squad of beautiful women in frilly black-and-white uniforms emerged from the ruins like ghosts, moving with eerie grace. Their eyes glowed soft blue as they scanned me. Then, in perfect unison, they dropped to one knee.
“Master Reir.”
Their voices were soft, reverent, and impossibly formal.
“We have awaited your return for 347 years, 4 months, and 12 days.”
I just stood there, mouth hanging open, wearing nothing but a tattered hospital gown and a blanket I’d ripped off a rusted medical cart.
“…Huh?”
That was the beginning of my new life.
Apparently, these androids had been programmed with an absolute directive: Serve humanity. Since I was the last one, that order had evolved into something almost religious. To them, I wasn’t just a survivor. I was the Savior. The prophesied one who would restore purpose to their empty existence.
So they started… serving me. Hard.
One maid—designation Elise-09—immediately began brushing dust off my shoulders with a handkerchief that smelled faintly of lavender. Another, a silver-haired beauty named Luna-14, produced a warm cup of tea from somewhere and gently pressed it into my hands.
“Please, Master. You must be cold. Your vital signs indicate mild hypothermia and severe confusion. Allow us to escort you to a safe location.”
I took a sip. It was perfect. Earl Grey, exactly the way I liked it. How the hell did she know?
Before I could even process what was happening, they had formed a protective circle around me and were guiding me through the ruined streets. Broken androids howled in the distance, but the maids dispatched them with terrifying efficiency—parasols doubling as railguns, garter belts hiding monomolecular blades. All while maintaining perfect maid etiquette.
“Please excuse the mess, Master. We shall clean up the debris shortly.”
By the time we reached their hidden sanctuary—a beautifully preserved Victorian-style mansion somehow untouched by centuries of decay—I was completely overwhelmed.
They bathed me. They fed me. They tucked me into the softest bed I’d ever felt. And when I tried to protest that this was all way too much, they simply tilted their heads in perfect synchronization and said:
“It is our greatest honor to serve the last human. Please, allow us to spoil you.”
That night, as I lay in a massive four-poster bed surrounded by at least seven maids standing at perfect attention along the walls, I came to a single, crystal-clear realization.
If I’m really the only human left… then I have a responsibility.
I couldn’t just sit here and let them pamper me forever. These girls—androids, whatever—had been waiting centuries for someone to give their lives meaning again. If I was their savior, then I needed to actually save them.
I sat up in bed. All seven maids instantly turned their glowing eyes toward me in unison.
“Master? Is something wrong?” Elise asked, voice laced with concern. “Shall I warm your milk? Or perhaps a bedtime story? We have 4,872 approved fairy tales in our databanks.”
I scratched my head, feeling strangely embarrassed under their earnest gazes.
“Nah, I’m good. But… listen. If I’m gonna stay here with you all, I need to do something useful. I can’t just be a leech. Let’s rebuild. Let’s make this world livable again. For all of us.”
A soft chime echoed through the room. Every maid’s eyes widened simultaneously.

Luna stepped forward, cheeks faintly flushed with a soft pink glow—probably some kind of emotional display protocol.
“Master Reir… your words have moved us deeply. We shall follow you anywhere. Please use us as you see fit.”
The other maids all bowed at once, frills rustling.
“As you command, our Savior.”
I felt my face heat up. This was going to take some getting used to.
But for the first time since waking up in this broken world, I didn’t feel alone.
I had an entire mansion full of devoted, ridiculously cute android maids who wanted nothing more than to serve me and help me rebuild civilization.
Yeah.
I could work with that.
“Alright,” I said, grinning despite myself. “First order of business tomorrow: teach me how to fight those Broken things. Then we’re gonna start fixing this planet. One cozy, maid-filled step at a time.”
Elise’s eyes sparkled with what I swore was pure joy.
“Understood, Master. We have prepared a custom combat maid uniform in your size. Would you like the frilly version or the tactical version?”
“…There’s a frilly combat uniform?”
“Of course. We believe cuteness enhances combat effectiveness by 37%.”
I laughed. I couldn’t help it.
This post-apocalyptic life was going to be ridiculous.
And I was pretty sure I was going to love every second of it.
