Chapter 80 - Upgrade Complete Announcement * Tap-Tap-Tap "Woof" Tap-Tap-Tic "Woof Woof" Crunch-Crunch "Dodging Like That? Never Worked for Me..."
Another peaceful morning in the bunker. I munched on popcorn while watching the game screen where Hero and Hoguli were playing.
The game White Soul, which I'd bought to enjoy during the 36-hour break. It had been so long since I'd played that after several meetings with Da-hee, I'd given up on clearing it and taken a nap instead.
When I woke up refreshed, I saw our house doggos taking turns with the game.
Tap-tap-tic-tap "Woof..."
"Woof! Woof woof!"
One would grab the pad, while the other observed the patterns and waited. When the one on the pad met Da-hee, they'd switch with the waiting one.
At first, I thought, how good could dogs be at this? So I did some overdue chores and read a book to kill time.
But these guys wouldn't let go of the pad. And they were good. Dazzling controller work with their front paws. I kept marveling at the skills of these two pros.
Still, they needed to eat. It had been a full day since their last meal before bed. I paused the game right when Hoguli met Da-hee and spoke up.
"I get that the game's fun, but you gotta eat first. You'll ruin your health like that?"
"Whine... grr..."
Hero and Hoguli looked up with pitiful eyes. But cute or not, rules are rules. I filled their bowls and said,
"It's been almost a full day without food. Eat up, then play. Got it?"
"Meee..."
They glanced at the clock, realized they were hungry, and started scarfing down their food.
Aigoo, these game-addict doggos. Chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp. I set water next to them in case they choked and watched.
A peaceful morning. My break ended right on time for the gallery opening. I'd planned to make the most of it, but it felt like I'd just done chores.
Shaking off the vague dissatisfaction, I waited for opening time.
Soon enough, the gallery door swung open. I adjusted Sora in her baby pouch and checked it out.
> Welcome to the Ark Gallery!
The gallers flooded in, posting away. Nothing seemed wrong, so I glanced at Sora in my pouch.
Our eyes met perfectly. She'd just woken up.
"Good work, Sora. How's your body feeling?"
I'm in perfect condition. Thanks to you, Rain.
"Glad to hear it. If upgrades take longer next time, we'll do this again."
I'd asked just in case, but no issues. I unwrapped the pouch and set her on my lap.
Purr-purr-purr. The familiar vibration hit right away. Feeling back to normal routine, I checked the new features.
First up: games. Janggi, chess, and Go were all added perfectly, with rules explained. Everyone should figure it out. No torturing newbies, so I'd play later.
Next: galler favorites. "Paataks first, I guess?" I added the Paataks to the list. No more typing names every time for gifts—super convenient.
Thought about adding more, but later. And the big one: the map. What I'd been most hyped for.
Worth the hype, so it'd take time to check. No issues, right? I posted the notice first, then map time.
Gallers piled into the comments. Short notice plus tourney hype got hot reactions. Looked like they were excited, so fatten those prizes. Tease high expectations then disappoint? Reality ban risk. No visits from Red Dragon or His Majesty, please.
Anyway, galler reactions checked—map time. ClackClack said weird design.
"Weird-looking map? No clue."
Question mark over my head, I activated the map. It filled the screen.
"Uh... it is a map, but..."
It's convoluted. Never seen this format.
Yep, a proper map with contour lines. But the problem...
"Why this design?!"
Game minimap vibes, digital af. Blue dot blinking at my location—coords working fine.
Checked for design change? Nope, stuck with minimap style.
I stared, organizing thoughts. I could read it—gamer life prepared me, even welcome. But for everyone? Issue.
Asked Sora: "Hey, Sora? Gallers can read this, right?"
Yes. Unfamiliar format, but they'll adapt without issue, I estimate.
Sora's take: usable. Whew. No change option means adapt or bust. Time to deliver the bad news.
Checked—looks wild. No paper style option.
I can read it tho. So adapt, you'll manage.
Practice around home vs real map.
Reference & endure.
Peace (Hero & Hoguli bow con)
Everyone freaking over the map design? Gallers swarmed the comments. Wanted to fix for all, but no way. Inevitable—might as well enjoy the tasty reactions.
