Currency Issuance Begins Tomorrow
Still, fur was flying everywhere inside the bunker. I was wrapping up currency-related matters, chatting with the racial leaders.
With things more or less wrapped up, Duke Adrian was sitting in for the resting Valerian. I bought the currencies in various denominations and sent them out to everyone. Thanks to the purchase-and-use system, they could check them right away.
Man, I told him to rest. I let out a hollow chuckle seeing Valerian, who couldn't endure even 15 days of break and had burst out.
Plastic armor... probably feels like a hard hat? It might actually turn out pretty useful.
Well, because they're holed coins? I pondered how to explain it. I'd picked them without much thought. Paper money would get forged for sure, and for coins, Chinese cash sprang to mind. Explaining the reason now would be awkward, so I decided to call it a secret.
What I'd requested was a headcount of those in alcohol production and sales. I planned to hand off beer can sales to them. From the start of beer sales, the boozehound gallery users and brewery folks had been in a WWE-style brawl. Lately, they were seriously at each other's throats. With resentment building, I wanted to resolve it fast.
The long meeting with the racial reps finally ended. The pile of tasks I'd stirred up were getting checked off one by one. All that remained was saving the World Tree and the liquor wholesale business. With no telling what else might crop up, I wanted to wrap them up fast.
I posted the currency notice, then picked up the pre-issuance coins from the table: 1 nyang, 10 nyang, 100 nyang, and 1 fun. Staring at the plastic cash in my hand, I couldn't shake the toy-like vibe.
"Sigh... Shouldn't have gone with nyang? Makes it even more toy-ish."
I think it's great. Obscure proper nouns can undermine a currency's value and trust.
Sora giving a thumbs-up to the nyang unit. Maybe because she's in cat form? She seemed oddly fond of it. Anyway, with her approval, I decided to roll with it. This world would now use nyang as its currency unit, with Gallery Coins, Ten-Day Coins, Hundred-Day Coins, and fun as the main ones. And fun below that. Even though I'd created the money and units, it already felt dizzying. But these folks wouldn't know my world's history, so they'd probably shrug it off. Shaking off the messy thoughts, I checked the comments on my notice.
As expected, no gallery users questioned the coin names. They were all fixated on the nyang unit. Unlike me flinching at "Hundred-Day Coin." Plus, folks were already figuring out uses. Exactly what I'd hoped. These people had probably never stored grain successfully. Anyone who knew how was likely cremated to bone dust by now. I'd never farmed myself, so I was clueless. But finally nailing a huge harvest, only for it to rot? They'd lose their minds. Froth at the mouth and pass out seeing their first full granary turn to mush. Satisfied I'd averted that grim future, I kept scrolling the gallery.
The feed was packed with subjugation posts. I'd been avoiding the madness I'd glimpsed earlier, but it was time to check. Amid the flood, I clicked a post from what seemed a cleric user. Clerics probably weren't lost to insanity.
I'd seen zealotry, not madness. Blood-soaked Saintess, blood-soaked soldiers around her. Cackling in that state. And comments calling it beautiful. Was this world full of such people? I'd thought I was used to it, but the road ahead felt long. These people felt farther away than ever today.
