0. The Demon Troupe Leader
A clearing in the countryside.
At a campsite ringed by traveling wagons.
I stood face-to-face with a cluster of monsters.
A hulking brute with horns and tusks.
Walking skeletons.
A woman with six arms.
A bizarre figure wrapped head to toe in bandages.
Conjoined twins with three heads between them.
A flat-nosed, balding dwarf.
When I looked at them, they averted their eyes and hung their heads.
When I opened my mouth, they squeezed their eyes shut and trembled.
When I took one step forward, they retreated one step back.
Herbivores frozen before a predator.
They were terrified of me.
To them, I was a devil of a troupe leader—merciless, pitiless.
In the end, once again today, I couldn't bring myself to approach them and returned to my wagon.
"Haah."
I let out a sigh, and the man in the mirror sighed with me.
A lean, solidly built frame, tall.
A face with chiseled features, as if carved from marble.
Long golden hair falling past the shoulders.
That ever-present, practiced smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Familiar.
All too familiar a face.
There was no way I wouldn't recognize it.
The Black Magician.
Frank Wonderstein.
Leader of the Monster Circus Troupe.
The villain who serves as the final boss throughout the entire Tril Trillo trilogy.
Somehow, I had become him.
