I got sued (4)
“So, what are you going to do about it?”
“I-I’ll ask the gallery admin to take the post down…”
You absolutely must not get on Kim Yeeun’s bad side when she was in venomous mode. I wanted to act as casual as possible, but I couldn’t help shrinking under the sharp gaze of the woman glaring at me.
How on earth had it ended up on the Super Concept Post? I didn’t even remember writing it.
“Take the post down and upload a correction stating it was just a rumor. Do that and I’ll let it slide.”
Her tone made it clear there would be no further concessions. For a serial suer, it really was surprisingly lenient.
But I had a line I couldn’t cross either.
“B-but it’s true, though…”
“What did you just say?”
“Eek…”
My head dropped on its own at the razor-edged voice. Still, it was the truth. They say people turn aggressive when the truth is shoved in their face, and the Kim Yeeun before me was no exception.
If that was how she felt, she never should have posted those things on Starfeed in the first place.
“Then are you telling me to admit I actually said those words?”
“I-it’s true, isn’t it?”
At this point it was all or nothing. You could call it guts, but really it came from having read her psychology well enough to know I could push back.
This person doesn’t actually want to sue me, does she?
Of course, any lawsuit would have to be for defamation based on true facts. Filing that would mean admitting the community post was real. And if that happened, it was painfully obvious how Yu Eunseo would look at her. Pure contempt, no question.
“Are you joking with me right now?!”
“I-I’m not joking…”
Even so, fear was fear. Just look at those eyes. It was like lasers were about to shoot out. Since she was an A-rank Hunter, maybe they actually would.
“Hah, fine. Then I’ll sue you for defamation with factual basis.”
“Huh?”
“Eh?!”
This was completely outside my expectations! The police officer seemed just as shocked; his eyes had gone perfectly round.
As expected of the serial suer…!
That nickname hadn’t come from nowhere. Her determination to bury someone even if it meant sacrificing her own honor and love was crystal clear.
Why was she going this far?
I’d thought I held the initiative, but the brief advantage I’d seized had already slipped back into her hands.
“I-I’m sorry… Just not that…”
I kept bowing my head, apologizing over and over. It might have looked pathetic, but I had no choice. If it went all the way to trial, I’d lose precious time stuck at home.
That absolutely cannot happen.
Even coming out today had been unavoidable. Once I got back inside, I planned to stay there for at least a year. So I had to reach a settlement, no matter how annoying it was. I absolutely had to!
“M-maybe I could give you money…?”
“No thanks. I’m rich, remember? I don’t need pocket change from some kid— ahem, anyway. I have zero interest in your money.”
“Then what exactly do you want… Ah.”
The way Kim Yeeun was looking at me felt like appraisal. Staring at that expression, the worst possible scenario flashed through my mind.
The serial suer Kim Yeeun. And right behind that title came ‘the serial nude dogeza generator Kim Yeeun.’
“Ugh…”
Look at her face twisting with delight at my reaction. How could anyone have such a rotten personality?
You can do this, Seo Eunha. If it’s you, you can do it.
I slid down from the chair my feet couldn’t reach and walked right up to Kim Yeeun. Even though I was standing and she was sitting, I still had to look up at her.
She really was tall. Of course I was small too, but that wasn’t important right now.
“Huu…”
I took one deep breath. Then, with a resolute expression, I took action.
Whoosh—
“Wh-what the hell are you doing?!?!?!”
“Eugh?!?!”
The instant I lifted my T-shirt over my face, a tremendous force seized my wrist and slammed it down. I tumbled to the floor with a stupid noise, and when I looked up, Kim Yeeun was staring down at me in utter bewilderment.
“Wh-why, why are you doing that…”
“Why are you suddenly taking your clothes off?!”
Why was I taking them off?
“I-I was going to do the nude dogeza…”
“That’s why I’m asking why you’d do it!!”
“Y-you like that kind of thing, don’t you?”
“No I don’t?!”
Wow. So she made people do things she didn’t even enjoy herself. Even though the other party was at fault, she would still force them to do something she disliked just to scar their mind? As expected of an A-rank Hunter. Absolutely no mercy.
If it was Kim Yeeun, she could definitely reach S-rank. If not, that psycho energy… no, her almost inhuman demeanor couldn’t be explained any other way.
“I don’t know what kind of person you think I am, but—”
“Serial suer. Someone who enjoys nude dogeza. A crazy psycho lesbian who sexually loves her colleague. Narcissist.”
“Hey, didn’t you come here to settle?!”
“Eep.”
I reflexively clapped both hands over my mouth and shook my head furiously. A gesture that said I hadn’t spoken at all. But Kim Yeeun seemed to interpret it differently.
“You’re not here to settle? So you’re saying you’re fine with getting sued?”
“N-no!”
My head-shaking doubled in speed. If I put any more force into it, my neck might actually snap off. My long hair kept whipping my face, stinging my cheeks.
“Puhuhu, how cute…”
“Y-yes? What did you s-say… uup… up…”
“Hey, hey! How can you shake that hard?! Are you trying to make yourself throw up?! What kind of kid are you?!”
“Ugh…”
But that was how desperate I felt. Shaking my head until I puked was still better than getting sued and having to leave the house.
“Stop, I get it already! Just stop!”
“Th-then… you’re forgiving me…?”
“Yes, I’ll forgive you, so can you drop those pitiful eyes?”
“Then I don’t have to delete the post, right?”
“Yes—wait, what the hell are you saying?!”
She had just said yes. That meant my Super Concept collection was safe. My heartfelt thanks to Hunter Kim Yeeun for creating the historic tenth Super Concept Post.
“I clearly said I’d let it slide only if you deleted the post!”
“B-but…”
I’d known she would try to weasel out of it, so I had prepared in advance. I pulled out the phone I’d kept in my pocket and pressed play.
Then I don’t have to delete the post, right?
Yes—
“You gave permission…!”
“…Hah.”
Kim Yeeun let out a stunned laugh. Was she angry? But she was the one who hadn’t listened properly before answering, so the mistake was hers.
“You… did you forget I’m an A-rank Hunter?”
“Eh… eh?”
“I could snatch that pathetic phone with just a flick of my finger. Understand?”
“M-Mister Police Officer… this person is threatening me…”
“I didn’t see anything.”
Could the guardian of the people really say that?! Police were supposed to protect the weak! How could he become a dog of power and turn a blind eye while the powerless were being oppressed!
“Give me the phone.”
Shake shake shake.
“I said give me the phone.”
Shake shake shake shake shake.
“Keep that up and I really will sue you.”
Stop. I froze at Kim Yeeun’s finishing move. Now she was even trying to take my phone. It wasn’t even the latest model, yet she still wanted it. Just how greedy was this woman?
“Hmm, you really do use an old phone.”
“I-it’s too much hassle to change it…”
“That’s fair. Me, I get constant sponsorships, so I always have the newest model.”
Yeah, must be nice getting sponsorships. So could you please give me back my phone now?
“Here.”
“Eh.”
She actually returned it… I blinked at the phone now resting in my palm. It wasn’t broken anywhere, right? It hadn’t been damaged so badly it couldn’t function anymore?
“I didn’t break it, so stop looking at me like that. What kind of person do you think I am?”
“A scary person…?”
“If you hadn’t written those weird posts, I never would have had to become a scary person, you know?”
If that were the case, inside my head Kim Yeeun would have been a weird person rather than a scary one. An extremely dangerous and bizarre person who lusted after her colleague Hunter and wrote desire-filled posts about it.
Anyway, what mattered right now wasn’t whether Kim Yeeun was a good person, a bad person, or a weird person.
The settlement went well… right?
She wouldn’t suddenly change her mind and sue me, would she? There was no way an A-rank Hunter would say one thing and do another… or was there? Well, even S-rank Hunters went back on their word, so maybe an A-rank could too. The more I thought about it, the less I trusted her.
Vrrr—
“I don’t know why you’re looking at me like that, but I didn’t do anything weird to your phone.”
“You’re not planning to sue me the moment I get home, right?”
“I’m not that narrow-minded, you know?”
She crossed her arms with a confident huff. The moment she did, an enormous presence burst out from her forearms with an audible boing.
Yeah, definitely not narrow-minded.
I nodded at Kim Yeeun’s words and ran my hands through my disheveled hair. I had shaken my head so hard that it stuck out in every direction like a bird’s nest.
“I saved my number in your phone, so when I contact you, come right away. Got it?”
“I’d rather not.”
“An A-rank Hunter—and a famous influencer, at that—is offering to call you, and you say no?!”
“Yes. I like being at home. If it weren’t for this lawsuit, I would have completed the one-year ‘never leave the house’ challenge.”
“Not leaving the house for a whole year… is that even possible?”
It was. When I looked at her with that expression, Kim Yeeun shook her head as if she couldn’t believe it. It was the face of someone who lost all energy if they didn’t go outside for even a single day.
Yep. Anyone could tell she was an E. A capital E.
How can anyone enjoy wandering around outside?
I genuinely couldn’t understand it.
