I got sued (2)
I had been sued. After finishing my revenge on the one who had thrown a stone at my fragile heart, I swiped away the system window floating in my vision and let out a long sigh.
It was a convenient ability, sure, but that was pretty much where the compliments ended.
"Everyone else gets cool powers. Why did I have to end up with this one?"
Some people could breathe fire, shoot lightning, or gain insane strength. There was even an S-rank Awakened in America who could supposedly stop time. How does someone awaken a community-related ability?
And to make matters worse, every single one of them was blatantly illegal. Location tracking, browsing someone's internet search history, checking IDs and passwords... it honestly felt less like a superpower and more like a well-made hacking tool.
It was a hacking tool that would never get caught by anyone else, at least. But still.
[Block duration: 31 days]
[Reason for block: You posted shit memes, you fucking asshole.]
"Hehe."
After completing my proper education of the guy who had tormented me, I smiled in satisfaction. Yeah. Smiling was enough. If nothing else, this ability was incredibly helpful for maintaining my happy community life.
[What is the mod even doing? Why aren't the shit memes getting deleted?]
[They spammed like crazy lol]
[Knew this would happen so I already left the gallery lmao]
It was only a single account, but because the posts had gone up at an insane speed, the whole place had exploded into chaos. Maybe it was because I'd timed it right at lunch hour that the reaction was even bigger.
Of course, since I wasn't actually eating, it didn't bother me at all. Closing my eyes while posting was basic practice for me, so I didn't suffer even the slightest discomfort.
Sorry about this, but you guys are accomplices too.
I felt a little bad for making them see weird pictures while they were eating, but anyone who hadn't punished the bastard who hurt my paper-thin heart was just as guilty. Standing by and watching was no different from committing the crime itself.
"Ugh, seriously. I already know, so can you please disappear from my sight?"
I grumbled, cursing Kim Yeeun, who had sued me. The single line of text lingered in the corner of my vision, annoying as hell.
"Ughhhhh...!"
I raised both arms toward the ceiling and stretched hard. My back and shoulders popped satisfyingly. I'd been sitting at my desk all day; my body had gotten completely stiff.
"I don't wanna go oooooout..."
Outside the blanket was dangerous. I absolutely did not want to leave. Maybe I should just tell her to come to my house instead? No, no. If my home address got out, people might start showing up every time I posted something in the community.
"Maybe I should shower first."
I sniffed myself, but surprisingly there was no smell at all. Was not producing body odor even when I didn't wash part of my ability too? Or maybe I'd just been cooped up at home so long that I couldn't even tell when I smelled anymore.
"Better shower now. Don't want to be late and get scolded."
Kim Yeeun the hunter lived up to her public image. In other words, she had zero manners. If I was even one second late past 2 PM, she'd throw a massive fit. How did I know that so well? Simple. I'd spent a long time living on the internet. The online world was full of all kinds of information.
"I will never forgive you, Kim Yeeun. If you don't forgive me, I'll never forgive you either."
For me, taking a shower was something that brought on a wave of guilt. The gender change that came with my awakening, combined with the fact that I'd never even held a girl's hand in my entire life, meant I could barely look at myself in the mirror anymore.
Touching was completely out of the question... but somehow, I could manage to endure showering at least.
"I'm sorry, I won't look..."
Even while taking off my clothes, I refused to glance at the mirror. If our eyes met, I was sure the me in the mirror would start cursing me out. Why do you live like this? or something.
Shhhhhhh—
"Ughhhhh."
The moment I turned on the showerhead, warm water poured down. I was melting. Absolutely melting. I didn't shower often, but the pleasant exhaustion I felt every time I did was impossible to resist.
"I should probably cut my hair soon too."
Since I almost never went outside, my hair had grown all the way down to my thighs. Once it soaked up all that water, my body felt so heavy that all my strength drained away. Was it really okay for an Awakened to be this weak? Seriously.
The first Awakened all had incredible abilities, I heard.
The First Awakened. The term referred to the people who had awakened right after the Gates first opened on Earth.
Those who awakened back then were still fighting on the front lines to stabilize the Gates even now. Unlike a certain someone who was holed up in their room living as a successful member of the Fire Tribe—er, a successful NEET life.
You're useless.
"Huu..."
Stop thinking about it, idiot. An old memory surfaced and I shook my head roughly. I like my life the way it is now. I awakened, but I don't have to risk my life fighting. Isn't that great?
"Aaaah, I really don't want to go..."
I will never forgive Kim Yeeun.
Kim Yeeun.
A-rank Hunter. A nationally famous hunter influencer.
"W-what is this...?"
Today, like always, she had logged into the community for fun while ego-searching. What she found was an exposé post that revealed her true nature.
The post was filled with a list of her own vile desires that she had never told anyone about. Sticky, thick, and intense feelings toward Yu Eunseo, a hunter she had met once before... anyway, that kind of stuff was written all over the post.
H-how? Did someone hack me...?
Starfeed. A social media platform where people could communicate. But it also had a list of secret posts that only she could see.
All of Kim Yeeun's desires had been written there in those private posts. If the details were this specific, there was no way to interpret it other than that her account had been hacked.
"H-hello? It seems like my Starfeed ID has been hacked. Could you please check for me? It would be even better if you could tell me any login locations besides my home or phone."
The customer service team wasn't usually this kind to regular people, but they moved quickly when an influencer like her spoke. After they told her to wait a moment, she let out a sigh and anxiously bit her lip.
Who could it be? Who would hack my Starfeed ID?
Beeeeep—
"Hello?!"
"W-what?!"
That couldn't be. There was no way she would have left those desire posts visible for anyone to see while she was outside.
Could someone have broken into my house...?
Could someone infiltrate without an A-rank hunter like her noticing? Kim Yeeun swallowed dryly. No matter how much she transcended ordinary people as an A-rank hunter, robbers and stalkers were still terrifying.
In fact, being a hunter only made it scarier. Most stalkers who clung to hunter influencers were fellow Awakened.
I have to find them. No matter what, I have to find them.
"What should I do, what should I— Ah."
The post on the community hadn't been written by a floating IP user. It had been posted by someone with a fixed nickname. Which meant...
Their personal information is registered in the community...!
And if she could find their personal information, that meant she could sue them. Kim Yeeun was not the type of person to hold back from suing.
Of course, she didn't just sue people indiscriminately whenever she felt annoyed. She usually let the first offense slide, and even if the story was somewhat exaggerated or false, she tended to overlook it.
"I will never forgive this..."
But this time, they had crossed the line. Hacking her account and exposing all the shameful things inside it on a public community? Whoever it was, she was going to make them beg on their knees.
"Yes, yes. Attorney. Please proceed with the lawsuit. The person I'm suing is... yes. Someone who goes by the nickname 'Civilian Informant A' on the Hunter Gallery."
There was no hesitation. Kim Yeeun was not someone who tolerated this kind of thing.
"What? You need their address? You have to check it yourself? Do you really need to verify it in person? Ah, evidence. Yes, of course I have evidence..."
However, when her personal attorney said they would need to read the community posts themselves to make a proper judgment, she wavered just a little. Just a tiny bit.
Anyway, after her attorney had read through every single post...
"..."
"Y-yes!"
Startled by the voice calling her name, Kim Yeeun answered in a fluster.
"...What if they want to settle?"
"Then please proceed in the direction of settling as much as possible, Attorney."
If there was one thing that had changed after the Gates opened, it was that suing someone for spreading false information about a true fact would get the case dismissed.
As a bonus, you couldn't sue them again for the same thing. But if she sued for defamation by revealing true facts instead?
That would mean everyone would find out that I wrote about wanting to wear Eunseo's panties on my head and wanting to sleep like a baby using her bra as an eye mask...!
Rather than let that happen, it would be better to kill the person who posted it and then kill herself too. This settlement meeting was for that very purpose.
Kim Yeeun. She was the kind of woman who followed through when she decided to do something.
