Why Is Jinny Naked in My Bed?
Why is Jinny here?
No matter how many times I looked, it was definitely her.
And sure enough….
She’s naked.
What on earth was she doing in my bed like this?
How did she even get into my room in the first place?
“Mmnya.”
Just then, Jinny suddenly shifted.
She hadn’t woken up; she’d simply rolled from lying on her back onto her side.
The motion made her chest—far too large for someone our age—spill into full view.
…We’re practically the same height, too.
Was it because she was naked and lying on her side?
The curves looked even more pronounced than usual, and I swallowed hard without meaning to.
This is bad.
My eyes kept drifting back to Jinny’s chest no matter how hard I tried to stop them.
I still had no idea why she was here, but the situation itself was definitely not good.
I need to wake her up, get her dressed, and kick her out. Fast.
Keeping my eyes closed, I gave her shoulder a few light taps.
“Jinny, wake up.”
“Mmnya.”
“If you’re going to sleep, go do it in your own room.”
“This is mine now! Hah!”
She muttered something in her sleep and suddenly grabbed my hand.
Before I knew it, she was clinging to my arm like she was hugging it.
“Wh-what?”
A soft sensation pressed against my arm.
There was no mistaking what it was—Jinny’s chest.
Dangerous.
I tried to pull away in a hurry.
Completely oblivious to my panic, Jinny only hugged me tighter.
“I won’t let anyone take what’s mine!”
She yanked me in hard.
My balance collapsed and I nearly toppled over.
“Ugh….”
Thankfully, Jinny was an alchemist—her strength wasn’t anything special.
I managed to stop myself just short of disaster.
That was close. I almost kissed her.
My face was right in front of hers.
The slightest movement would have pressed my lips against Jinny’s.
It really had been that close.
If she’d pulled me even a little farther….
That was when it happened.
“What are you doing?”
A soft, almost whispering voice suddenly reached my ears.
Everything seemed to slow down.
I froze as I watched Jinny’s eyelids open with agonizing slowness.
Don’t panic.
I’m innocent.
I didn’t do anything.
Right. I didn’t attack her or anything.
I just fell and ended up like this.
I didn’t even kiss her.
If you think about it, this whole mess is Jinny’s fault, isn’t it?
Yeah. It’s all on her.
So I can be confident about this.
“I didn’t do anything.”
With that, I pulled away from her.
I got my face free first, then carefully extracted the arm still trapped against her chest.
“It looked like you were about to kiss me, though.”
Jinny clearly didn’t believe me.
“I didn’t. If you really can’t trust me, feed me another honesty potion and ask again.”
When I stood my ground so firmly, Jinny looked annoyed but eventually accepted it.
“Ugh…. A tall, big-chested beauty like me is sleeping naked right next to you and nothing happened?”
If you know something might happen, don’t sleep like that in the first place.
“More importantly, why are you in my room?”
The moment I asked, Jinny shot upright as if she’d just remembered her original purpose.
I quickly turned my head away and held out the clothes that had been lying on the floor.
“Put some clothes on and then answer.”
“I don’t mind being seen.”
“I do.”
Faced with my firm demand, Jinny finally took the clothes.
I heard the soft rustle of fabric against skin.
“The reason I came here is to check how the potion worked.”
In exchange for receiving an explosive potion from her, I had drunk the honesty potion.
Reporting the results had been part of our deal.
“But no matter how long I waited, Reina never came back. When I asked the teacher, all I got was some nonsense I couldn’t understand. So I decided to wait here. If you came back, this would be the first place you’d go, after all.”
Ah, so that was it.
Still, one question remained.
“I get that much. But why were you naked?”
“I always sleep naked!”
Then why sleep in my room instead of your perfectly good one….
“Have you been living here the whole time I was gone?”
“Of course!”
“…….”
“If Reina never came back, I was going to turn this room into my second hideout!”
Wow. Already making plans without the owner’s permission.
“Sorry I came back and ruined it for you.”
I gave a hollow laugh as I said it, and Jinny suddenly raised her voice.
“What are you talking about?! I was praying the whole time that Reina would come back safe and sound!”
It sounded sincere if you only listened to the words, but I wasn’t falling for it.
“Yeah. You just wanted to hear my review of the potion’s effects.”
“No? I genuinely hoped you’d come back alive.”
Huh?
This time I was the one caught off guard.
That eccentric Jinny is saying something like that?
In the original story she never worried when people died—she just asked if class would be canceled tomorrow.
“Why?”
Jinny answered with a bright smile.
“Because I don’t want the one person shorter than me to disappear.”
Height again….
I felt like an idiot for trying to understand how this weirdo’s mind worked.
“Right. Thanks.”
I gave a half-hearted reply and told her my honest impressions of the honesty potion.
“Hmm. Next time I should make it so you have no choice but to answer any question that comes your way.”
If you make something like that, I’m not drinking it.
“You’ll be my test subject again next time, right?”
Find someone else.
“Well then, my business is done, so I’ll be going!”
Bang!
The door slammed shut as Jinny left.
The room suddenly felt quiet.
I should change clothes first.
“Hmm….”
Wearing only my underwear, I stood in front of the full-length mirror.
An ambiguous body—you couldn’t even tell if there was a chest unless I took my clothes off.
No curves at all, just a skinny frame.
Maybe because I’d just gotten a glimpse of Jinny’s naked body, I couldn’t help comparing us even though I didn’t want to.
“…I can’t exactly go around saying I’ve got a good figure.”
With that assessment, I gathered my clothes and got dressed.
Then I started cleaning up the bed and the mess Jinny had made around it.
“Hm?”
That was when I noticed something sitting on the little table beside the bed where the lamp usually went.
“A potion?”
It was a potion, all right.
At first I thought Jinny had left it behind, but I quickly realized that wasn’t the case.
A note was tucked underneath it.
It’s a recovery potion! Drink this and get healthy soon! And please be my potion test subject again!
— Jinny
In short, this was a gift for me.
I never knew Jinny had a side like this.
As someone who’d read the original, I couldn’t help being surprised.
She only gave it to me so she could use me as a test subject again, right?
That thought crossed my mind, so I carefully uncorked it and took a sip.
The fatigue is melting away.
Apparently the “recovery potion” claim hadn’t been a lie.
“Now I feel bad for doubting her.”
I smiled a little at the thought.
But the smile vanished almost immediately.
There was another note underneath the first one….
Ah, also, drinking that potion should help with breast growth. Reina, your height doesn’t need to grow any more, but I think it’d be nice if your chest got a little bigger.
Unnecessary meddling!
Even after surviving a dungeon break, I was still a student.
Whether I liked it or not, I had to go to school the next day.
Missing a whole week of classes meant I was behind the others, but it wasn’t a real problem.
…Most of the novel knowledge is still in my head, after all.
Math was the exception, of course.
I still didn’t understand why a fantasy novel made us learn that crap.
Anyway, I thought everything was fine… until it wasn’t.
“Supplementary lessons?”
Anin suddenly called me over and said that.
Ah, Ceryll had been summoned as well, of course.
“You missed a whole week of classes, so, well, it must be rough. That’s why I was thinking of teaching the two of you after school for a while.”
Having read the original, I knew that line was a trap.
“For a while,” my ass.
That was basically a declaration that he was going to train us into the ground and pour everything he had into us.
“I’m fine, sir.”
If I accepted, I’d be stuck getting brutally trained by Anin against my will.
Hard pass.
Why was he even offering this to me in the first place?
Was it just awkward to single Ceryll out, so he included me too?
Well, Anin had zero interest in me, so if I refused he probably wouldn’t force the issue….
“As your homeroom teacher, I have a duty to make sure you keep up with classes properly. I won’t accept a refusal.”
No!
“Teacher, I’m really fine. Missing a week of classes isn’t enough to put me in trouble.”
I said so, but Anin shook his head.
“A week is significant when you’ve only just enrolled in the academy. I’ll fill that gap for you.”
I don’t need it!
“I’m seriously okay.”
“There’s no need to feel burdened.”
No matter what I said, Anin had already made up his mind.
And then—
“Come to think of it, after school alone won’t be enough. We should train on the weekends as well….”
Why do I have to spend my precious weekends on special training?
Absolutely not!
Anin’s stubbornness was absolute.
In the end, I was stuck with supplementary lessons both after school and on the weekends.
The one silver lining was that Ceryll was with me.
And the reason that was a silver lining….
Anin’s teaching is harsh, but it’s the real deal. It’ll put Ceryll’s growth into overdrive.
Since Anin’s real interest was Ceryll, maybe he’d go a little easier on me?
…If only that had been the case.
“Stamina is everything. Ten more laps! If you stop even for a second, we start over from the beginning!”
“Huff… huff….”
My stamina was nowhere near Ceryll’s.
Naturally I fell behind, and as a result I received Anin’s full, undivided attention.
“Number Six, your pace is dropping. Want to run it all again?”
Of course not!
“No, sir….”
I ran and ran and ran.
Why was I spending my golden after-school hours sprinting around the field?
“I-I’m done….”
Somehow I managed to hit the target and collapsed spread-eagle, gasping for air.
“Rest for ten minutes, then we continue training.”
…This is just my luck.
“What kind of training, sir?”
Ceryll asked, but instead of answering her, Anin turned to me.
“What kind of training do you want to do?”
Why was he asking me that?
I can’t exactly say I don’t want to do any training at all….
If I couldn’t escape the training, then I had to make the most of it—turn it into something that benefited me as much as possible.
Something that would help Ceryll get stronger and also help me make money.
And now I even had Anin as insurance.
Given the situation, I didn’t hesitate.
“I want to go into a dungeon, Teacher.”
