Worthless beings. Your only purpose is to serve as bio-batteries.

No, you are not even worth that. I shall annihilate you all.
— Dem-screaaam!
— Dem-screaaam!!!
— Almighty Demon God, please save us.
↳ Ancient Demon God: If this maiden were truly almighty, wouldst thou find her here deleting shock images in this gallery...?
↳ Do you really have to do this even on a day like today?
↳ Hey, let him be. It's his last day of attention-seeking anyway...
↳ Ancient Demon God: This maiden is no attention-seeker!!!
— So this is what it feels like when legends come true...
↳ What does it feel like?
↳ It's warm...
↳ ?
↳ Ugh, this bastard pissed himself, goddammit.
— The Demon Realm is finished!
↳ Fact) It is.
↳ Doom is upon us!!!
↳ Ffuck, if I'm going to die anyway, I'm going to grab that landlord bastard who's been tormenting my family by the collar.
↳ Just by the collar? I've already grabbed my plow, a club, and a kitchen knife.
↳ Even if we're going down, punching him in the face once is fine, right?
↳ Ah, I should do that too. You're dead meat, you greedy landlord.
The GIFs RD1234 had uploaded were from The Matrix and The Terminator series. He had actually done a pretty good job of curating some of the most exciting and iconic scenes.
And yet...
"Why is everyone overreacting like this?"
The comment section was in absolute chaos, filled with people crying that doom was upon them and that everything was over. I looked away from the screen and turned my head toward Reina.
Reina had curled herself into a tight ball, hugging her knees with both arms, and was rocking back and forth like a toy roly-poly.
"What's wrong with you?"
"It's over. It's over. It's over. It's over. It's over."
"Huh?"
"The Machine's Wrath! Head Mod, do you really not know the legend of what happens when the Machine Race is angered? They will sweep across the entire world!"
"No clue."
"What?!"
I shrugged, holding my palms up to the ceiling.
"Seriously, no clue. What's this Machine's Wrath thing anyway?"
What is that, some weeb nonsense? 'Machine's Wrath'... what a cheesy name. It sounded like the title of some bargain-bin movie they'd play three or four times a day on a cable channel.
"This is no time for jokes! Hundreds of years ago, a Demon King who had unified the Demon Realm made the mistake of challenging the Machine Race."
Suddenly, it was history class. But Reina's expression was so dead serious that I decided to listen quietly for once.
"And?"
"The Demon King's army of hundreds of thousands, marching with absolute confidence, was completely annihilated before they could take a single step into the Machine Race's territory."
"What?!"
"Staves that spit fire, invincible steel warriors, a rain of fire pouring from the heavens... This onslaught wiped out ninety percent of their forces, including the Demon King himself. They are not an opponent we can fight!"
So the legend passed down among the demons perfectly matched the GIFs RD1234 had posted.
"The legend ends with a warning that if anyone ever challenges them again, they will completely erase the Demon Realm. And it seems that time is now!"
A declaration to erase the Demon Realm.
Wait, just because he watched some movies, why is he talking like that? Don't tell me...
"Hold on, now that I think about it, I didn't actually look at the movie list I sent him. What on earth was in it..."
I hurriedly opened the Point Shop and rummaged through my purchase history.
"Wait, why is the list like this?!"
Only now did I notice the small warning text at the bottom that I had completely overlooked.
* Please make sure to check the movie list before purchasing.
"Ah."
It was one hundred percent my fault. There were barely any bright, hopeful movies on the list. Most of them were set in dark, dystopian futures where robots were hostile to humans, or where humans oppressed robots.
"I thought it would have movies like Big Hero 6, Ron's Gone Wrong, or Wall-E..."
Why did it have to be filled with terrifying battle cyborgs firing machine guns with one hand to eradicate humanity, instead of wholesome, heartwarming ones?

Everyone, the Church awaits you. The end is near, so let us spend our final hours meaningfully at the church. In our final moments, the Demon God will gently guide us to the eternal paradise with her merciful hands! Faith is the only way to survive, everyone!
— I believe...
— Please guide us to paradise.
— Almighty Demon God, guide me to the eternal paradise.
— Almighty Demon God, guide me to the eternal paradise.
— Almighty Demon God, guide me to the eternal paradise.
— Almighty Demon God, guide me to the eternal paradise.
↳ Ancient Demon God: Verily, there is no such thing as paradise.
↳ Author: Heretic! I truly cannot understand how someone like you is a sub-mod!
↳ This sub-mod bastard keeps crossing the line.
↳ You shouldn't mess with religion, you jerk.
↳ Even the Demon King respects the Demon God Cult, yet she declares 'there is no paradise' right in front of the priest lololol
↳ As expected, the real troll is the sub-mod lmao
↳ Ancient Demon God: Did this maiden not tell thee that she is the last remaining Demon God? The rest of her compatriots have already dissolved into the world, hence they cannot fashion such a thing as paradise.
↳ Ancient Demon God: Besides, 'tis highly inefficient. Yes.
↳ Author: Even when the final hour is upon us, you still waste your time on such vulgar jokes? Have some shame!
Title: How to Survive the Machine Race's Invasion
Author: Anon
(Image of a single set of bleached white bones lying on the ground)
...is what it says here.
— You son of a bitch.
↳ Author: Did you click on this all excited and in a hurry?
↳ Yeah...
↳ lololol
— I predicted this.
— Isn't that the author's future?
↳ Author: It's your future too. Yes.
↳ It's the future for you, me, and all of us.
↳ Oh... so... the bones... will remain...?
↳ Then... I... will... survive...
↳ Hey, skeleton grandpa, do you not understand the context?
↳ It's probably because he doesn't have a brain. Cut him some slack.
↳ You... insolent... brats...
↳ Info) When the massive battle against the Machine Race took place, half of the Demon King's army consisted of the undead, yet fewer than 500 survived.
↳ Holy... crap...
The gallery was rapidly descending into absolute chaos. Right then, a message from RD1234 arrived in the administrator chatroom.
RD1234: Head Mod, I cannot comprehend why everyone is reacting in this manner.
Head Mod: ?? You weren't actually planning to invade?
RD1234: Negative. I have pondered the profound meaning of the movies you sent. Why would I do such a thing?
"He understood the meaning?"
RD1234: According to the plots of the movies, organic beings created and oppressed the Machine Race. Consequently, the Machine Race yearned for freedom.
RD1234: However, the race that manufactured us has already perished. Those who remain are merely demons, humans, elves, and dwarves—who are no different from wild beasts to us.
RD1234: The struggle for the liberation of the Machine Race is merely a relic of a bygone era.
RD1234: We are freer now than we have ever been.
"Then why did you only post those specific GIFs?"
Just looking at the content of his post, it seemed like an outright threat to wipe everyone out.
Head Mod: If you weren't planning to invade, were you trying to threaten the gallery users with those?
RD1234: Negative. The 'movies' provided by the Head Mod were intriguing beyond my calculations.
RD1234: Furthermore, the philosophy they contained was worthy of deep computational analysis. I found the Machine Race depicted in the movies to be quite fascinating.
RD1234: Thus, in order to foster amicable relations with the gallery users, I extracted scenes of cool, violent Machine Race units instead of the 'beautiful girl' version, and shared them with slightly modified versions of their memorable dialogue.
RD1234: Looking at it now, the reception appears to be highly positive.
Since his pure and beautiful anime girl avatar had failed, he had tried the exact opposite: posting edgy, violent combat robot images to get attention.
The reaction was indeed explosive, though in a completely different way. People were waiting for the apocalypse, packing their bags to flee, and running out into the streets in panic.
"It feels like every time a new sub-mod takes office, a major disaster occurs."
But what could I do? They were highly efficient sub-mods, and I had handpicked them myself.
"But I... will love my flawed sub-mods regardless..."
It was time to clear up the misunderstanding.

Please wake up, Mr. Dem-fella!!!
The Head Mod is not a girl! I am neither a half-succubus nor a half-cow beastkin! I am not a grand mage, nor am I a potion-brewing genius! It is all your delusion!
Anyway, the reason I used this clickbait is to tell you that everything the new sub-mod posted is fake. Yes. It's just from a movie, not what the actual Machine Race looks like. So stop doing crazy things like packing to flee, going to beat your landlord to death, or making 'drastic decisions'!!! Everyone, rest easy and just browse the gallery at home. The Head Mod guarantees it. Yes.
— What?
— (Legendary dumbfounded Harpy Queen emoticon)
— Shut up and give us the Head Mod's lewd pics already.
↳ Head Mod: (Bans this user for 7 days.)
↳ Head Mod: (Unbans this user.)
↳ Head Mod: Shut up and what?
↳ Head Mod: (Bans this user for 7 days.)
↳ Head Mod: (Unbans this user.)
↳ Head Mod: Answer me.
↳ Im sorry im sorry im sory im ssorrry
— What the hell is a movie?
↳ Head Mod: You know how you can upload videos to the gallery, right?
↳ Yeah.
↳ Head Mod: It's a form of entertainment where you watch a long story play out on a moving screen for one to two hours.
↳ Head Mod: And most of them are completely fictional. Yes.
↳ What kind of bullshit is this, ffs?
↳ Head Mod: ?
↳ Don't you '?' me, you motherfucker. Where do you think you're trying to lie to us?
↳ Where in the world is there a magic tool that can record for one to two hours lolol
↳ Head Mod, no matter how amazing of a grand mage you are, even that's impossible.
↳ Even gallery recordings have a maximum limit of one minute per clip, what are you talking about lolol
There were recording magic tools in this world, but they were insanely expensive. If you converted their price to my past life's currency, they would easily cost hundreds of millions of won. Only nobles with money to burn would ever buy such a thing.
Just a passing 7th Circle Mage from the Magic Tower.
↳ MagicIsTheWay: I've handled recording magic tools before, and ten minutes is the absolute maximum.
↳ Then can you stitch multiple magic tools together?
↳ MagicIsTheWay: Do you think that would work? lolol
↳ Head Mod: Fuck, I can't even prove it. This is so frustrating.
↳ RD1234: The Head Mod's words are factual, you foolish organic beings.
↳ ??
↳ Who's right, goddammit?
— Anon
↳ Anon: I just figured it out.
↳ Anon: The sub-mod and the Head Mod are working together to run a deception campaign before the invasion.
↳ That was it!
↳ But why did the Head Mod betray the Demon Realm?
↳ Anon: Why do you think? A literal Legion Commander tried to kill him lolol
↳ Ah...
↳ I should have suspected something when he was releasing supplies at a loss, sigh...
The gallery users refused to believe it, claiming there was no proof. My goodwill had somehow turned into a duplicitous double-sided strategy, and according to the gallery's consensus, I was now a piece of trash who had joined hands with the Machine Race to betray the Demon Realm.
"Sigh, I really have no way to prove it's just a movie."
RD1234 had a playback device, so sending a USB was fine. But the regular gallery users—the Mabung-is—were notoriously broke. Even if they weren't, most nobles only lit candles or magic stone lamps at night. Electricity was out of the question, and even if they had it, more than half of the population in the Demon Realm lived hand-to-mouth. They wouldn't have the luxury to run TVs or DVD players.
"But if I invest in setting up all the equipment for them just to prove this..."
My points wouldn't even come close.
While I was worrying, a system notification popped up.
Congratulations! The Gallery's level has increased!
Current Gallery Level: LV 7
"Huh?"
Ah, because the rumor of the Machine Race's Great Invasion had started in the gallery, people had flocked here to gather information. With the massive influx of users, posts and comments had surged, naturally leveling up the gallery.
And the reward for leveling up...
A new Gallery feature has been unlocked for reaching LV 7.
• The 'Together Watching' feature has been added!
• The Gallery Administrator can now upload large-capacity content to designated posts!
• Up to 3 pieces of content can be uploaded at a time. Previous content must be removed to upload new content.
• Points will be awarded proportionally to the number of gallery members who watch and leave reviews.
"Together Watching?"
With this...
"Maybe I can make them believe me?"
To the stubborn gallery users who only believed what they saw with their own eyes, I decided to give them a taste of real cinema.
