Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Episode 6 The President of the Yuri Game Appeared.
“It’s not Geum Taeyang. Long time no see.”
“Hello, President Sunbae.”
Right after all the school’s regular classes ended and I finished preparing to head home, I encountered a familiar face outside the classroom.
A mature beauty surrounded by a transparent and strangely enchanting atmosphere.
Though she was only a year older than me, the dignity she carried made even her smile feel refined enough to naturally lower one’s head in respect.
“In Yuna” could also be described as transparent in a sense, but unlike her, this person clearly expressed joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, and always wore a gentle smile.
Still, in a different way from In Yuna, this person also resembled a doll.
“You just thought something rude.”
“No, not at all.”
“How can I believe that with such a dry response?”
Still, talking with this person quickly erased the “doll-like” impression from my mind. Her friendly way of speaking naturally melted away people’s caution, and before you noticed it, she had already carved out a place for herself somewhere in your heart.
That was why I found her a little difficult to deal with.
“What brings the president of the student council all the way to the second-year classrooms? Even if it’s still early in the semester, is it okay for the student council president to personally come here?”
“What if I said I came to see you?”
“Please don’t joke like that. My heart feels like it’s about to stop.”
If other guys—especially my idiot friend—heard her saying something so suggestive, they’d genuinely try to kill me.
“What a boring reaction. So you’re saying there’s no interest left in a fish you’ve already caught. As expected of our infamous Master Geum Taeyang.”
“……Are those rumors famous even among the third-years?”
No, seriously, just how far had those terrible rumors spread? I was genuinely getting anxious.
“They’re incredibly famous. Want me to tell you how widespread they are?”
“I’ll pass.”
Part of me was curious, but imagining just how badly the rumors had mutated made me too afraid to hear it.
“Oh my, how boring. I wanted to see your face turn pale after hearing them.”
“President, did you come here just to bully me?”
“Half of it was.”
Watching Yu Arin teasing me with that playful cat-like smile made irritation rise inside me, but—
“You rejected me, after all. My first confession in life failed spectacularly. I was depressed until the semester started again.”
“…….”
The irritation immediately faded, and I lowered my head.
Damn it, she really was meticulous. She manipulated people’s emotions so perfectly that it was almost irritating.
“You really are too sincere. Even if I confessed, it was only one-sided love on my part. It’s not like there was ever anything special between us. If you keep treating me so thoughtfully, it becomes hard for a rejected woman to move on. If you’re going to do that, it’d be kinder if you just cut things off completely.”
“Could you please not say that here? It seriously sounds like you’re trying to get me killed.”
If people found out that I’d been confessed to by the school’s Madonna—the student council president rumored to even have her own fanclub—and that I rejected her, I’d become the enemy of the entire student body and get publicly executed.
Even if most students had already gone home by now, if someone overheard us—
“Please get to the main point. Why did you specifically come all the way to the second-year classrooms to see me?”
“Your reaction is too cold.”
“You were the one who asked me to help you move on.”
“That’s true.”
The president smiled.
“Then, Geum Taeyang. Have you considered joining the student council? Right now, you could become my successor and the next student council president.”
“I refuse. That’s not an appealing offer at all.”
“I’m talking about becoming the student council president. Ruling over all the students in the school. Doesn’t feeling like a king sound nice? And you don’t have to worry about the workload. I’ll handle the handover perfectly, so you only need to show up.”
I inwardly sighed at the president’s offer, which carried enough persistence to feel almost obsessive.
She’d made a similar proposal last year too, and even after I rejected her back then, she still hadn’t given up.
“Absolutely not. You say I’d only need to show up, but seeing everything you do as president looks incredibly exhausting.”
“Even though it comes with immense authority?”
“That authority only exists under the condition that you properly fulfill the responsibilities attached to it.”
“You really understand well. That’s exactly why I like you.”
Even after being rejected, the president’s smile didn’t disappear. As though she had already expected this response, she looked at me like a reliable younger brother.
“Most people only see the sweet rewards of a position and forget the obligations attached to it. But you never forget the responsibility that comes with authority. That’s why I want you to become my successor.”
“If Vice President Jieun heard you say that, wouldn’t she cry? She works incredibly hard to earn your approval.”
The small classmate who always followed the president around like her secretary. She had a complex about her short height and held a strange rivalry toward tall people like me. Whenever the president tried dragging me into the student council, she always watched with obvious displeasure.
Still, she was a diligent and dependable hard worker.
Maybe not a superhuman genius like the president who excelled at everything, but still an excellent honor student trusted by both teachers and the student council.
“I trust Jieun too. It’s not that I don’t believe in her. But I think people each have roles they’re suited for. To stand at the top, ability alone isn’t enough. You also need a certain shamelessness and stubbornness to stick to decisions once they’re made.”
“Isn’t that kind of outdated thinking? You’re basically admitting you’re stubborn yourself.”
“At the same time, that means the person who caught my attention—you—is the same.”
Seriously, she never backed down from a single word.
She smiled warmly like she’d yield anything, yet there were certain things she absolutely refused to compromise on. That was exactly like the president.
“I appreciate how highly you think of me, but I still refuse.”
“I expected that.”
“Was that all you needed?”
“Pretty much. Then I’ll be going. If I stay here too long, rumors really will start spreading.”
“You’re surprisingly willing to back down.”
Even though she constantly talked about wanting me in the student council and making me her successor, the president always withdrew cleanly whenever it was time to leave.
That sometimes made me wonder how serious she truly was.
“Ah, but Geum Taeyang.”
“Is there something else?”
“How cold. It’s nothing serious.”
In a genuinely casual tone, the president suddenly continued.
“I heard you were eating lunch today with that famous transfer student. Has another victim fallen to your fangs this time?”
“……President. That joke’s going too far.”
“I’m only half joking. You seem surprisingly guarded, but you’re kind to everyone. That makes girls misunderstand you. Honestly, aren’t half those rumors your own fault?”
Leaving behind those teasing words, the president walked away gracefully, looking completely carefree and without a trace of lingering attachment.
Watching those light footsteps, I felt relieved.
Maybe it was selfish of me, but seeing the president move forward and live her own life without lingering over someone like me made me feel strangely at ease.
I turned around to head in the opposite direction from her, but—
“Huh?”
“…….”
“In Yuna?”
Since when had she been standing there?
In Yuna was just… there, as if she’d existed there from the very beginning.
No, seriously, when did she arrive?
I hadn’t sensed any presence behind me at all.
No, more importantly—
‘Don’t tell me she heard all of that…….’
If In Yuna had overheard my conversation with the president, how much had she heard exactly?
“Geum Taeyang.”
“Ah.”
“Are you… a playboy?”
“That’s completely wrong! It’s a misunderstanding!”
Judging from the situation, it seemed she’d heard almost the entire conversation from beginning to end.
Did the president know she was there?
If she knew and continued the conversation anyway, then her teasing had gone way too far.
“…….”
“I’m seriously innocent here.”
“But you were confessed to.”
“That part is true.”
“……Playboy.”
“I’m absolutely not!”
No, wait, why was I even defending myself like this?
Objectively speaking, I looked exactly like a boyfriend desperately making excuses after getting caught cheating.
But seeing those cold eyes fixed on me like sharp blades completely shattered any calm reasoning.
Her beautiful face cut apart my mental composure like an icy knife.
“……Hey, In Yuna.”
“What is it?”
“Why are you angry?”
“…….”
A heavy silence pressed down on my shoulders.
Unable to just stand there awkwardly without saying anything, I tried to think of something—anything—to say.
Then—
“……didn’t like it.”
“Huh?”
The tiny voice that broke the silence sounded so faint it might disappear at any moment. It melted into the quiet air almost instantly.
Still, part of it reached my ears clearly enough to confuse me.
“I didn’t like hearing that… someone confessed to you.”
“Huh?”
“……I’m leaving now.”
“No, wait…….”
Before I could even ask what she meant, In Yuna vanished from in front of me like the wind.
Watching her figure shrink into the distance, I could only stand there speechless.
“……What just happened?”
Left alone, my brain completely failed to process what had just occurred.
No, was this even possible?
That tone—it sounded exactly like jealousy.
But why?
We only met yesterday.
‘In Yuna is a capture target from a yuri game. No, I shouldn’t think like that. This is reality, and everyone here is a real person living their own lives.’
There was no rule saying a heroine or main character from a yuri game couldn’t fall in love with a guy.
The story and relationships could change however they wanted.
Even so.
Even so…… did this make any sense?
In Yuna was a transfer student who had only arrived yesterday.
So why would she care about another girl confessing to me?
Love at first sight?
No, according to my younger sister from my previous life, In Yuna’s route difficulty went beyond hell itself—so difficult it’d remain impossible even if the world ended three more times.
I didn’t know the details of her route, but there was no way a heroine like that would fall in love instantly.
“Still.”
Once I pushed aside those complicated thoughts, the feelings honestly remaining inside me weren’t confusion but excitement.
Even though I knew I shouldn’t, every time I remembered the faint flush on her face before she turned away, my heart pounded like it would burst.
The clear emotions revealed on her usually expressionless face were so vivid, like spring sunlight melting winter snow, that they almost blinded me.
“She was way too cute.”
So this was what people meant when they said they had witnessed something precious.
“I didn’t mean it in a bad way! He’s blatantly humiliating me! Gyaaaah—! Just you wait, Geum Taeyang! Things absolutely won’t go your way!”
Still, this confirmed it.
Geum Taeyang was a reincarnator.
And on top of that, he had already realized that I was one too.
Once again, I realized just how powerful my enemy truly was.
But I would never give up.
For the sake of protecting 【The Pure White Flowers Bloomed by Maidens】, I would keep fighting no matter what!
