God Game [Lost World Season 2 Showcase Teaser] ... 7.22 Update
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things, but the text on the screen hadn't changed.
"...Is this for real?"
I muttered to myself, my voice laced with a hint of excitement. How many times had I dreamed of a surprise like this? I still couldn't quite believe the post I was staring at was legit, but I decided to just roll with it. If this turned out to be a dream, I might not survive the crash back to reality.
With trembling eyes and hands, I dove back into the community.
[Lost World Gallery]
Sure enough, the place was exploding. It felt like the glory days of the Lost World Gallery all over again.
Maybe it was the scars from getting burned by that game company before, but the reactions weren't all sunshine and rainbows. There were still plenty of jabs like "brain-dead idiots" and "stitch your heads back up," with curses flying at the devs. But none of that mattered to me.
I reread the announcement.
[Lost World Season 2 Showcase Teaser]
We know we've disappointed users over the past while. From now on, we'll publicly disclose all paid item drop rates, and we'll be reissuing the compensation we failed to deliver properly before.
"Heh... hehehe..."
I started laughing like a madman alone in my room. How could I not cheer? It was like my best friend, who'd talked about suicide, suddenly pulling themselves together and deciding to live life to the fullest again.
I kept reading the notice in detail.
Additionally, the 156 users who continued playing our game even after the probability manipulation incident will be granted beta tester privileges. Please check the email associated with your registered account for contact details, and we'd appreciate a response. Beta testing is optional, of course, but we encourage participation with special rewards for those who join.
Before I knew it, my lips were curling up to my ears. This wasn't the hollow chuckle from earlier—it was genuine happiness bubbling up.
At 12:30 a.m., I drifted off to sleep with my heart racing. The next day, seeing the servers shut down brought me back down to earth a bit... but I grinned like an idiot waiting for the showcase next week.
Time flew by, and soon it was the big day. July 22nd.
I was glued to my computer, waiting for the NewTube livestream to start.
80,341 viewers
Even before it went live, over 80,000 were waiting—and the number kept climbing.
Right on cue, 4 p.m. I grabbed my pre-ordered chicken, plopped down with a grin, and settled in. The screen was replaying iconic Season 1 moments.

I smiled warmly, thinking, Our Lost World is coming back.
Finally, the video wrapped up, and Kim Won-gang, director of Lost World, took the stage.
The chat flooded with "Missed you" and "Welcome back," though a few probability scandal digs slipped in. But the overwhelming positivity drowned them out.
"First off... I want to apologize for that incident."
Kim Won-gang owned up to the probability manipulation mess, apologizing repeatedly and laying out exactly what went wrong. But that wasn't what viewers craved.
"I had to apologize at least once—I'm truly sorry. But I know that's not what you want, so let's jump into the main event."
Stunning cinematic heralds the new era.
He kicked off with QoL fixes for Season 1 pain points, then dove into Season 2 changes. Amid the hype, some chats stood out.
Hard reset—wiping all character progress, gear, currency back to zero. Even I, who'd maxed every class, was dying to know.
"Haha... yeah, hard reset it is."
My heart sank. All that grinding, gone? Tears welled up.
"But we'll compensate based on your characters' levels, gear, and resources—scaled to Season 2 currency. Higher levels, better gear, more wealth means bigger payouts."
Whew. Korean wisdom: wait till the end. It eased the sting, though my characters weren't coming back. I'd see after compensation.
He rattled off more updates—tons of new stuff for a new season. But the big one was missing.
"Yes! The new jobs you've all been waiting for—four brand-new ones."
The screen darkened, and trailers rolled.
First: A badass dude dual-wielding swords, shredding foes with flashy effects. Dual Swordsman.
"Before my blades, all is powerless."
Second: Guy transforming into a robot, wielding modern firearms. Mechanic.
"Behold the power of future tech!"
Third: Little girl tricking enemies, buffing allies, healing—Trickster.
"Haha! Catch me if you can~ Buffing our side?"
Fourth: Casting spells, brewing potions for buffs—Witch, a buff dealer.
"Sigh... No love potions here, sorry?"
The Witch was my favorite by far.
"That's the four new jobs for Season 2. Hope you like 'em—we poured our hearts into them."
Praise kept rolling in. Then, the part I'd been waiting for.
"As announced, we're recruiting beta testers—specifically the exact 156 users who stuck with us post-incident. You'll help balance new jobs and raid difficulties. No need for offline; online works too."
My heart pounded at "beta tester." Early access to the god game? Bliss.
Then Kim Won-gang's voice hit me: "Oh, and Noel—we'd love to meet you offline. First clears on all legion commanders, all-class max level the day before shutdown. Incredible. I've wanted to meet you for ages."
...I froze, staring blankly. Snapping out of it, I refocused.
"Anyway, that's the update rundown. Stay tuned for Lost World Season 2. Sorry and thanks as always. That's the showcase—good night!"
9:35 p.m. I can say without a doubt: that was the happiest 9:35 p.m. of my 23 years.
