Prologue: Transmigrated as the Final Boss
Transmigration is almost never something that happens by choice. Authors whose personalities have long since gone to seed already have a time-honored tradition of paying readers back for their comments and emails by stuffing them into a story — and every so often, you get dropped into a romance fantasy you barely even sampled. And of all these painfully well-worn setups, I had the distinct misfortune of falling into the former.
The novel boasted a roster of captivating heroines and a scale that swelled from the Imperial Academy to the entire continent: Academy's National Power-Rank Swordsmanship Genius. I'd clocked out of my shitty, "we're all family here" workplace like always and settled in with the story I loved — only to watch every last heroine die in the battle against the final boss.
What the fuck.
Have writers these days decided that shitting all over the ending is the new trend? A sigh escaped me at a fashion that was, frankly, fucking asinine.
Burning with rage at the dumpster fire of an ending the author had so generously bestowed, I started leaving comments every single day, praying for the heroines to be brought back.
Then, one day — a full year in — a flood of blinding white light swallowed me whole. When I opened my eyes again, I realized I had been transmigrated into the novel.
Look, I'd thrown enough of a tantrum in the comments that I could almost understand getting stuffed into the story. But still...
"You've got to be shitting me."
Even so — I'm a fan. Isn't dropping me in as the final boss who murdered all the heroines going a little too far?
