Ruler of Milano-V (3)
Meanwhile, at the same time.
The gallery was buzzing over Benya's actions.
Reactions poured in like, "She's just barely holding one small city, and she's already acting all high and mighty?"
Or, "What if the pissed-off city governments go all-out kamikaze on her, or call in the capital? She's done for, right?"
Comments kept stacking up nonstop.
They weren't just half-worried, half-mocking in a subtle way.
Some were already holding mock funerals.
Most users, who had no idea of the details and were just quietly watching while focusing on their own stuff and occasionally checking the gallery,
took it as "Another user biting the dust."
But the real veteran players, seeing those posts,
were like, "The haters are the real idiots."
Exactly.
They tended to ramble in their discussions among themselves...
But to sum up, Benya the Overzealous Mayor's actions boiled down to "No verbal deals—get proper contracts and rewards."
And sure enough, not long after those posts,
Benya's follow-up proof posts showed proper material support rolling in.
Plus, the Red Scourge horde occupying Valokian got tricked by feints, main force pulled away.
Then Black Scourge main army, loaded on destroyers, dove in and mulched the Red Scourge queen and elites.
Red Scourge-brainwashed or infected MegaCorp branch staff, small corps, shops, city infra raiders—former citizens turned looters—got beaten down and subdued.
Instead of fighting all Red Scourge across Milano-V at once,
they hit pinpoint strikes, assassinated queens, absorbed the remnants.
Solved the inevitable supply issues from massive troop growth with full support from the 13+1 cities, now too scared to scheme.
Contrary to user expectations,
she steamrolled smoothly without a hitch.
And as she kept winning big, clearing most Red Scourge territory on Milano-V,
three of the 13 pioneer cities excluding Heisenberg arbitrarily cut supplies like "This is enough, right?"
Or straight-up "You're the real threat now," laying minefields along her army's path or weakening the ground—sabotage city-wide.
The problems users predicted finally blew up,
some floaty-nick newbies who got flak from vets spazzed like "See? We were right!"
But that didn't last.
She thoroughly proved what the "price" of backstabbing meant, after all the prior warnings.
At the same time, to the non-backstabbers, she divvied up the traitors' infra and pop.
A full month after Benya the Overzealous Mayor kicked off the Red Scourge war...
Seeing the clear cert shot,
everyone could only go, "Damn, badass."
