The Call for the Out-teris Raid
They kept forcing the Pirate King's main force into this constant cycle of close combat, artillery duel, close combat, artillery duel — making them thrash around in the most inefficient way possible.
Meanwhile, the other fleets that weren't drawing aggro brought our SSS-grade long-range supers and ships and just beat the absolute hell out of them.
The problem was, the damn main force would get aggro-pulled the second any cruiser got assigned to a fleet that wasn't the designated bait fleet.
So the units that were supposed to be pushing with raw firepower ended up with dogshit firepower and got completely wrecked.
And the most ridiculous part of all? That battleship they use as the Pirate King's flagship.
The grade itself is only around S+, but thanks to those pirate bastards' insane custom mods, the main gun firepower is genuinely monstrous.
So when you fight those guys, unlike regular pirates, you have to throw cruisers out as disposable bait and load your supers onto destroyers and corvettes and other small ships to attack?
But the area around the battleship is crawling with the Pirate King's subordinates, so punching through is a nightmare. And even if you do break past them, dozens of secondary guns — not as strong as the main battery, sure, but enough to vaporize a corvette in two or three hits — are waiting to welcome your fleet.
This time, at least, the bastard pulled back before we even had to launch a boarding action on the flagship.
If we had gone for a boarding action, we'd have been fighting the Pirate King himself — a melee super with a minimum level of 100 — plus his personal guard, all level 50 and up. Lmao.
And true to battleship form, the internal defenses are completely insane, so a player actually winning a boarding action is basically impossible.
You just board to lock the battleship into a temporary control-disabled state, and in that window you wipe out the rest of the main force's fleets.
And as you can probably tell from everything above — we'd burn through so much goddamn resources that damage recovery would be completely impossible. Fuck.
Anyway, this whole thing got written in a total mess, so here's the summary:
1. The Pirate King's main force is ridiculously strong.
2. The battleship is so strong you have to use cruisers as disposable bait.
3. If you get wiped here, your fleet is gone beyond any hope of recovery. A frontal assault is not an option.
A wall of text so long it made people worry about the scroll length.
And the very first comment on it — two syllables of pure disbelief.
Shock and awe, in a completely different sense, had plunged the gallery users into total confusion.
And this was only one day after the Pirate King had supposedly been "defeated."
Weren't those bastards supposed to have gotten completely wrecked by the Makguksu guys?
Why the hell are they coming back even bigger? Fuck.
Word spread that yet another large clan — about fifty members — had been crushed by the Pirate King, who had only grown larger since his last appearance.
A fifty-man clan just got flattened. Is this a joke?
How the fuck are clans that barely crack ten people — or even smaller than that — supposed to stop something like that?
Once again, the gallery's public sentiment was thrashing about like duckweed in a storm.
That is, until the clan leader of the very clan in question saw the post and left a comment of his own.
The revelation that they'd managed to thoroughly screw over the Pirate King flipped the gallery's mood like a coin once more.
The Pirate King had been hiding his real strength.
The butterfly effect of that clan's trolling of the Pirate King was twisting player expectations completely out of shape.
Originally, the developers had planned for players to endure the Pirate King's invasion through the event, rack up points along the way, and then — after the Pirate King's forces had swept through every clan and every player — tally those scores to suppress player power levels and determine rankings.
Unfortunately, even the developers who had kidnapped and imprisoned the minds of tens of thousands of human beings inside a game had failed to predict just what kind of insanity the game's most deranged veterans were capable of.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
In every game, they say, there exist those legendary freaks with the faces of absolute degenerates — and now one of them was toying with a battleship using nothing but a single ordinary corvette.
If you slap a range-extension battery on a siege-type cruiser and fire, you can shoot from farther out than the Pirate King's battleship range, right?
Do it this way and the bastard just keeps advancing until it enters battleship range, so you can freely beat the crap out of the other ships lmao
You might ask what happens if the battleship catches up —
That Pirate King battleship got so heavily modded that the firepower is insane but the mobility and everything else is completely trash.
Sure, siege cruisers have garbage mobility too, but you just keep repositioning and weaving back and forth and you're done.
Veterans even started showing up who mounted range-extension gear on siege-type cruisers — ships designed solely to take down bases, with accuracy and fire rate that were both complete garbage — and chipped away at the main force from extreme range.
The original aura of dread was nowhere to be found. Instead, a whole series of Pirate King humiliation posts started flooding the gallery.
Perhaps because of that, the "shock and awe" players had been crying about at the start vanished completely, replaced by a swelling tide of overconfidence.
And just as that mood among the players hit its absolute peak —
Amazingly, some of the large clans, watching the veterans' circus acts and each clan's desperate resistance-and-trolling campaigns chip away at the Pirate King's main force, seemed to have had their pride restored…
Screw it. While we're at it, I'm thinking we just kill this Pirate King bastard and put a stop to these damn pirate raids for good.
No fancy conditions. Including our clan, we've already got 140 people from various clans gathered for this raid.
But that alone might not be enough, so we're recruiting additional members and clans.
No requirements. Just hit the link <- and come on in.
If we get over 200 people and hit them hard, the Pirate King and everything else goes down, right?
In three days, the Pirate King's main force is scheduled to pass through the Out-teris region over there.
Before that, all the raid participants and their clan bases will move over to that side, hold position, and force a teamfight. Yeah.
Like real men — fleet battle, let's go.
