Event Afterparty (1)
> This message is sent only to Commanders who completed all ten battles in this event!
> Commanders who finished all ten battles — well done!
> Event score calculations will be delivered via a full-server announcement in one week.
> Additionally, all ships and supers destroyed or lost during the event have been fully restored and are standing by at your bases. Rest easy!
> Commanders who completed all ten battles will be returned to base shortly after finishing this message!
> However, even after returning to base, you will be unable to leave your base or your assigned zone until every Commander has finished their ten battles and the event officially ends. Your understanding is appreciated!
"Oh."
"So they're restoring all the ships and supers? That's a relief."
"Right? And the fact that the admins didn't slap on some weird unnecessary change is pretty huge too."
Of course they would. The event ran on a completely separate map — if they refused to restore every ship and super that got blown to pieces, the aftermath would have been an absolute catastrophe.
Realistically, even a ranker who clawed their way to the top of the event would just become a free meal for every neighboring player the moment their main fleet was gone. Every soft spot, every gap in their defenses, would get punched through until they were nothing but a slave. Sure, there were probably a few masochists out there who were into that sort of thing — but I sure as hell wasn't one of them.
I nodded with genuine satisfaction at the announcement confirming that fleet and super restoration would proceed exactly as I remembered from the original event.
And even with the invulnerability status active for the duration, we weren't locked inside the base itself — we could still move freely within our zone.
So for the rest of the event, I figured I could just kick back, run some base upgrades, and enjoy a nice, quiet stretch of country living.
Of course, as the world always does, those modest little pastoral plans of mine lasted exactly until the moment we finished reading the message, returned to base, and found the restored Kraken barreling toward us with its tongue lolling out like an overexcited golden retriever.
> To every Commander who participated in the event — thank you for your hard work!
> Event score results will be delivered via a full-server announcement one week from this moment!
Why is it only happening to meeeeeee?!
The moment that smug little "Event Ended" notice popped up, my quiet little sanctuary vanished into thin air.
But contrary to all my fretting, the second the event wrapped, players didn't immediately come swarming from every direction. Which, thinking about it, made perfect sense — anyone who'd just gritted their way through ten full battles probably needed a mental health break more than a raid.
So, thankfully, my "country living" plan managed to hold on a little longer after all…
Curious what everyone else was up to, I decided it was time to crack open the gallery for the first time in a while.
And the gallery I opened was currently on fire — courtesy of every deranged lunatic who'd been locked out of posting for the entire event.
Holy shit these crazy bastards just keep crawling out of the woodwork and there's not a single admin or user mod in sight wtf
Buried among the eye-melting gore posts that filled the board like toxic waste, that one perfectly ordinary thread stuck out like a dandelion pushing up through cracked asphalt — and it told you everything you needed to know.
While the admins and the rankers — the user mods — were all locked into the event and completely offline from gallery duty, the first wave of degenerates out of the gate had turned the entire board into a full-blown den of unhinged fetish content.
And it wasn't just the gallery. The auction house, the global anonymous chat — every single public channel had been thoroughly desecrated with the same garbage.
I shook my head and started trying to scrub the so-called "crazy grandma" posts one by one…
And right then—
Behold the light!
Gondor calls for aid!
The second the event ended, the admins must have taken one look at the gallery and gone straight to work. Tens of thousands of pages of accumulated garbage posts vanished in a sweeping mass deletion, and watching it happen, I figured the gallery could wait a bit longer before I checked back in.
The user mods had only just started filtering back in, so while they were still getting their bearings, our trusty admin-mod grandma-and-grandpa garbage eraser kicked into gear — and the gallery began climbing the stairs back toward civilization.
It took about an hour after the mass wipe before I could finally get a proper look at the gallery's event reactions.
Plenty of chatter had piled up, but a few threads in particular stood out…
And of course, the first thing to catch my eye was talk about our very own Political Officer — the player known as Koenig.
[Proof shot: forcibly towing another player's battlecruiser]
Some clueless newbie who signed up for Round 1 lost his battleship and started whining about not wanting to join the team fight, so the guy who'd been intercepting the flankers while repairing his own ships got pissed, sank the newbie's remaining ships, and half-wrecked one of his battlecruisers just to drag it back lmaooooooo
Then he told him if he wanted that battlecruiser to live he'd shut up and charge — so the newbie sobbed his way into ramming every last ship straight into the enemy line
Ran into him maybe twice during the event
How do I even put this?
The thing that really hit me was how rock-solid his concept is — this guy NEVER goes to the front line himself. Always hangs back on the allied rear or the flanks.
And if anyone tries to run, he'll just open fire and eat the teamkill risk, or reverse it and seize their ships to force them into the attack.
But it's not just the roleplay — the guy's actually good.
Like the proof shot shows, he can solo two players in a delaying action and just hold forever, or completely shred any fleet trying to flank. His skill is genuinely insane.
Yeah… he really was good.
Having run into him three separate times, I could confirm he was a genuinely reliable player. The only problem was that the last of those three times, we met as enemies — so I got to experience that reliability from the wrong end of his guns.
Anyway, I decided that was enough Koenig content for now and started browsing for whatever else was floating around.
And once I started looking, I realized there had been dozens of completely unhinged incidents during the event.
For example…
