Announcement of the New Event (3)
Contrary to all my carefully laid plans, the ops team went and dumped a bucket of ice water straight over the expectations of every player — myself included.
A message to all Commanders.
Due to the discovery of a critical error in the scheduled Remains of the Ancient Empire event,
the update will be temporarily delayed.
We will work to complete the update as quickly as possible, and a new notice will be posted once it is ready.
…What.
The idea that the ops team would unsheathe that long-dreaded cursed blade — the "extended maintenance," or rather, the "delayed maintenance" — after so long without it had never even crossed my mind. So there I was, stuck with a command center full of superins who'd already assembled, and fleets that had already finished their inspection, with absolutely nowhere to put any of them.
I left them standing around looking awkward for a bit… then decided to at least let the superins take a free break for a while.
And just in case, I opened the gallery to check how the other players were reacting.
Yeah… sure enough.

Are we actually kidnapped and locked inside this game for real?
Ops dropping a fumble like this is honestly pretty lame ngl

I'm gonna lose my mind
I need to go pull new ships RIGHT NOW!!!
Keep this up and your game is DOOOOOOMED!!!!

The gallery was going up in spectacular flames in every direction imaginable, so I nodded along in full agreement — and then:

WHERE THE HELL IS IT
I blocked the bastards running time-delayed troll attacks and settled in to wait for the event to open.
After wasting a few hours like that, our garbage ops team finally sent the players a proper event notice.
Except the contents of that "proper and detailed" event notice gave the player base an awful lot to think about.
"Hmm."
"Has the event opened, Commander?"
"Yeah. It's finally open."
I nodded as I scrolled through the notice, thinking that this time they'd really piled on an unusual amount of extras — and before long, I found something in it that seriously rubbed me the wrong way.
Hold on. What the hell is with these grades?
Lumping SSS all the way down to D-grade into one single pool?
And true to form, they still refused to reveal even a scrap of the actual drop rates for each grade, so my eyebrows started twitching on their own as I stared at it. But the event had started, so I first sent the ships carrying my superins and each of my fleets out on sector reconnaissance — then opened the gallery right away to see how other players were reacting, and whether anything else had changed while I'd been offline.
Of course, even as I opened it, I fully expected that the vast majority of players would be spewing nonstop curses and whining their heads off…
And the moment the gallery loaded, the state of the posts confirmed it. I found myself nodding along at the sight of those predictable little jokers living up to every expectation.

Hey ops, you really just gonna dump SSS through D in one pool and call it a day?
At minimum you'd need a 10-pull to even scrape an A or S out of that mess, wouldn't you?
[Image of the notice stating SSS~D grades are all included]
Even the Chinese gacha companies from my past life didn't rig the odds this hard
And it's not just the gacha — the dungeon itself is random? How does that make any sense?
Ops, publish the event drop rates right now!
