Evaluating the Captives
Ah.
One of the three was SSS-grade, and the other two were still S-grade — that much was fine. The problem was that every last superhuman currently knocked out and captured at my feet was a close-combat character. And not just any close-combat characters: the purebred warrior types who fought entirely on their own initiative, same as Ignis or Partia.
Aww, damn. What a waste.
The specs were good. The specs were.
But that half-baked disappointment only lasted a moment.
Hmm. Performance-wise, they're decent enough.
I remembered the two S-grades as fairly solid characters in their own right. And that SSS-grade cat-girl, Smeragi… she was almost certainly a character added in an update after I'd quit the game. In any mobile game, power creep was inevitable with the passage of time — so she had to have something over the frontline units from when I'd still been playing.
Since I couldn't quite recall the exact performance details of those two S-grades anyway, I decided to open the wiki tab while all three were still unconscious and look up their full write-ups.
And first things first: I needed to confirm whether my memory was even accurate. So I started with the wiki pages for the two S-grades laid out in front of me.
"Hmm."
"What do you think, Commander?"
"Exactly as I remembered. Doesn't look like anything major has changed."
Thankfully, the newly written wiki performance evaluations put them right about where I'd recalled. Axion was just your typical laid-back spear guy, and Leti was still the character who provided extra buffs up close, same as I remembered.
I gave a rough nod and immediately went looking for the wiki info on our fifth SSS-grade superhuman. A moment later, I found the entry I wanted — Smeragi's.
