Looking for a Good Place to Sell It (1)
“Hmmm, no good listings popping up.”
Lately, climbing the Tower has been leaving me feeling like something was missing.
It took longer than usual, and the monsters’ leather always slipped right past my defenses, slamming into the walls like I was hitting an invisible barrier.
Even the skills felt like they needed way higher floors to grow. …
The gear I’d been using since the early days was holding up fine, though I had been rough on it.
I got it around the 5th floor, and now we’re at 40. It was amazing it had lasted this long.
Honestly, it still wasn’t broken, so I could keep using it… but no way. At 40 floors, running around in starter gear just wasn’t enough anymore.
If I had an S-grade skill, sure, but I still didn’t.
I wanted an S-grade skill too… ah, I felt bad for the people who already had one.
“Huh? Epic?”
No listings on the Hunter Market, so I figured I’d check the Hunter Gallery instead.
I hadn’t logged on in forever, and when I saw the fresh sales post I scrolled through it out of curiosity.
It was an Epic-grade item, and the description mentioned something I actually needed— a sword. I clicked it properly.
The attached photo showed a sword that looked strangely different.
Most swords had one blade that pierced straight through, but this one had multiple blades. Plus, below the blades there were folded wing-like decorations. …
“The shape is cool, but it’s Epic? Where the heck did this even come from?”
The seller hadn’t claimed to have cleared any higher floors yet, so I was curious how they got it.
Lower floors could drop rare stuff, but Epic? Almost impossible. At least it had to be 40 floors up, and I hadn’t heard anything about it.
My guild hadn’t heard of any other guild pushing higher floors either.
“Ah, so it’s legit? No authentication?”
The post said the item wasn’t authenticated by the Hunter Association, but something still felt off.
Thinking about it, if someone had an Epic item they should’ve used it themselves, not sold it.
Probably they just sculpted something pretty to sell it off.
I laughed. Item-related scams got punished hard, yet here we still had some left.
“Well, I should report it anyway.”
These kinds of people needed to be taken down. They were stealing money from good low-level hunters, and I couldn’t just ignore it.
I scrolled down to report the post and spotted one more thing attached—a video.
I replayed it, wondering what kind of video came with an item sale.
Maybe the seller was trying to cheat with words too? The caption was too short.
*Whoosh—* *Clang…* *Chrrrrr-*
“Huh?”
In the video someone was holding the sword. Only the back was shown, so I could only tell it was a woman. …
But what really mattered was the sword’s appearance. The wing decorations I thought were part of the design suddenly unfolded and started vibrating at an insane speed.
It didn’t stop there—
“What? Is this CGI?”
My eyes couldn’t even keep up. The sword shot forward so fast I had to question if I was seeing things right.
It didn’t look like any skill activation— the way she held the sword was awkward, and I didn’t see any skill icons.
All I saw was the wings vibrating as the sword blasted forward at breakneck speed. …
I replayed the video and finally understood.
“It’s not a scam? No way, I’m seeing this for the first time. Where the hell did they even get this?”
I was stunned that the post I assumed was fake was actually real.
No authentication, labeled Epic, and it wasn’t a scam? Then where did they even get it?!
The person in the video looked like someone I’d never seen before. So they weren’t even a top-floor hunter. Maybe a foreigner?
No, I couldn’t imagine it. When I heard the quiet curse right before the dash, I knew that speed wasn’t something anyone could guess without prep.
Then… the only real possibility was that an Epic item had actually dropped in the lower floors.
“…New crafter? No way. Ah, no. Even if it’s possible, how does someone make an Epic? It must’ve been a Tower reward.”
Even I thought it was ridiculous. A new crafter selling their first item as Epic? That made zero sense.
But whether they were a crafter or not, it was great news for me.
Right when I needed a new sword, someone posted exactly this.
I wondered how many people would want to buy it too, and the pile of comments made my bank balance flash in my mind.
I had no idea how much they’d spend, but if I drained the guild support fund… we’d barely make it through.
The description made the sword’s functions clear—I had to buy it. It was straight-up insane to let this weapon go to waste.
“I have to get it. It’s Epic.”
I told the guild anyway. If it ended up with another guild, my stomach would hurt the whole day. And not just me—the guild leader would feel the same.
And it was a sword, so if I didn’t get it, who would?
I sent a message to the seller and immediately called the guild leader.
“Yes, Guild Leader. Did you check the Hunter Gallery? Well, it’s not nothing… no, seriously, this is important. Yeah, so…”
*Hehehe, new sword, wait for me—I’m coming!*
“Haaam… huh? Ooh.”
Creating so many weapons had burned up a lot of energy.
I should’ve done the metamorphosis, but I just passed out on the bed without even thinking about it.
When I only summoned one bug I didn’t notice, but the more I created, the more my stamina drained.
Now that I knew, next time I should summon one big point cost instead of many small ones.
“Ugh, I’m starving.”
Waking up, my stomach was even hungrier. I wondered if using so much stamina had made me this ravenous.
If I’d been even hungrier I might’ve chewed the paper next to me.
I thought about eating first, but there was something more urgent.
I’d woken up because the phone alarm had gone off, not because I was hungry.
I checked my phone and saw dozens of notifications from my post. I scrolled through the comments and messages.
“Where… hmm, where did you even get it? I’m a hunter-in-training, can you give it to me for free? …Is she really a girl? Are you two dating? This crazy person…”
Of course I expected comments about wanting to buy the sword, but the comments went way deeper.
Asking how to get it was one thing, but demanding it cheaper because they were in a guild or saying they didn’t have money? The weirdest were the people who just sent photos and asked if I was hot and what my stats were.
Did they seriously think I’d meet them if they sent that?
I blocked the weird messages and read the decent ones instead.
I didn’t know the price range, so I copied the last Epic item’s price from the Hunter Market…
Everyone offered way more. It surprised me.
Was my sword really that good? The prices were so high it felt like a scam.
“Hmm, what’s going on? I saw it for around a thousand earlier—how can it be worth that much?”
Everyone was pulling out a million. My stomach was growling, so my head wasn’t working right.
I was selling it cheap, and the item was good, but I still felt uneasy.
I had to decide who to sell to properly. If I picked the wrong person…
Among the messages, the one I liked best was from someone who seemed polite, offered a good price, and even put their guild name on the line for a guarantee.
The guild name was big enough that I’d heard of it. If it was a scam I could just report them later.
But there was one problem.
“We’ll meet, confirm, and pay.”
Honestly, I hated the hassle, but I guessed it might just make things worse.
Well, it was only a short meeting anyway.
I suddenly felt like going out was too much trouble. Before awakening I wouldn’t have cared this much, but maybe my spine had grown a little.
I sent the message and asked when we could meet.
I wanted to wrap it up today…
“Quick. Were you waiting?”
We messaged back and forth until we agreed on a time and place.
The other person seemed fine with today too. The location was close, so I figured I could head out soon.
But… could I just take the sword out?
Yesterday I took it to the park without thinking and filmed it, but I wasn’t sure if it was okay.
…I’d even punched a big hole in a park tree, but luckily no one caught me yet.
What if I tried again? Next time I’d have to be careful or test it in the Tower.
I wrapped it in a rough cloth and headed out. I was shivering from impatience, but…
“You must not move at all. Got it?”
*Zzzz…*
The way it shook with irritation made me nervous again.
It would be fine, right? It wouldn’t just run away.
Since I was controlling a living bug, it could do whatever it wanted.
No, the Bug Queen was still me—I wouldn’t disobey my own orders.
“Do not move. Understood?”
The trembling stopped when I gave the order again, so I picked up the sword.
I might as well eat on the way back.
Now that I had money coming in, I could treat myself to a meal.
“Then let’s go. Ah, Sword.”
Just in case I reached out and grabbed my Sword. It folded neatly around my wrist like a bracelet.
It looked a little flashy, but not weird.
I petted the Sword’s head the way it liked and stepped outside.
What to eat first with the money? Meat sounded good.
Saliva was already dripping. Before I used to stress about every expense, but now I just felt happy.
I’d have to eat plenty.
