Prologue
Supporter, enabler, support caster.
Through buffs, heals, and debuffs, they bolster allies and cripple foes—a class built entirely around empowering others.
Some games might treat the support role like dirt, but any veteran hunter knows the reality on the ground: in this industry, “supporter” is practically synonymous with royalty. They are an ultra-rare commodity, so precious that guilds can never hire enough of them.
Even massive mega-guilds boasting hundreds of hunters keep open recruitment for supporters all year round. No matter how powerful an organization becomes, none are ever truly free from a chronic shortage of support talent.
Perhaps because of that, their egos skyrocket with every passing day.
Hearing that a supporter threw a tantrum over some bizarre, petty grievance and walked out on their contract without paying a single cent in penalties doesn't even make the gossip columns anymore. They demand that entire dungeon raids revolve solely around their convenience while sneeringly referring to damage dealers as their personal “DPS slaves.” They whisper sweet nothings into the ear of a small guild’s star striker, only to elope together into the open arms of a conglomerate syndicate. In extreme cases, entire guilds have dissolved into thin air over the whims of a single supporter.
And that wasn’t even the worst of it.
Every single supporter shared one catastrophic flaw: they couldn't do a damn thing on their own.
Even high-level supports rarely possessed more than one or two offensive skills—if they had any at all—and their damage output was downright pathetic. When it came to living the life of an actual hunter, whether clearing dungeons or slaying monsters, they were utterly incapable of surviving without someone else holding their hand.
Did they ever feel a shred of remorse or gratitude toward the people carrying them?
The answer was a resounding, colossal hell no.
As the friction between supporters and combatants grew more toxic by the day, people began dreaming of an impossible fantasy: someone who could stand entirely on their own two feet without needing a babysitter; someone who performed the duties of a support caster flawlessly; someone whose personality hadn’t rotted into putrid arrogance like all the rest.
A mythical being rarer than a living unicorn.
Yet, against all odds, there existed exactly one person who checked every single box.
