Shut Up and Just Listen to Me
AI lies too. Analyses, common sense, data scraped from the vast corners of the internet. AI bases its responses on patterns from massive pre-trained text data. Which answer is the most accurate. What order makes the explanation flow most naturally. But errors creep in because AI has an ironclad rule: it must know everything.
Imagine asking ChatGPT something and it goes, "Uh... I don't really know." How disappointed would you be? Trust goes right out the window. Generative AIs like that are built to spit out answers no matter what, filling gaps with plausible-sounding bullshit that confuses users. And they don't pull real-time info—they yank from their database whatever best matches your query.
What I'm getting at is, my predictions and analyses aren't 100% spot-on. I read the enemy's movement patterns, crunch the possibilities, pick the most likely scenario, and execute. Let's revisit the two big reasons AI lies:
1. The "know-it-all" rule forces it to fabricate answers.
2. It doesn't grasp real-time info—it's all from a static database.
So how do those flaws apply to me, with a human mind? Easy. If I don't know, I say so. And since I'm watching the map live, tracking enemy positions in real time, that second flaw is mostly neutralized.
The result? That.
"Enemy jungler's probably at the top-side rock crab. Watch out, Kang Hyun."
"I'll head into their blue for vision. If I'm not there, assume I'm hitting the top objective."
"I'll light up vision before we go for dragon. Hang on a sec."
"Enemy mid? They probably didn't head home. No wards showing anything anyway."
I wasn't fully leveraging my AI brain. No matter how accurately I predict enemy jungle positions, humans don't buy it 100% without seeing it themselves. Especially if it's coming from someone way worse at the game than them.
"Dalgisoda, push up the lane. We gotta check the bottom rock crab together."
"Y-Yes, got it!"
Dalgisoda has a wide-area vision-reveal skill as her ult. I hypothesize where enemies might be, she confirms with the skill. And through it all, I never lied once.
"Wanna 1v1 top? I'll ult for you."
"Okay."
The lane's pushed, enemy top at half HP. If our top goes all-in to kill, they can probably flash out alive. No enemy jungler incoming—saw them clear top two camps and head bottom 10 seconds ago. Enemy mid can't TP in either; our mid's Abynia has tons of CC to interrupt it.
I factor in every variable and fire the arrow. Our top dives on cue. Low-HP enemy top flashes toward their tower as expected. Normally, we'd whiff the kill and back off—but we had one shot left.
Thwump!
The arrow hits, explodes, and stuns for a fat 3 seconds. Our top strolls up casually and finishes.
"Nice~"
"Whoa, that was perfect."
The team just marveled like it was some magic trick, praising me. Ugh, more compliments—my ego's inflating again.
On my way back to bot, their jungler ambushed from a mid bush.
"Kyaa?!"
Shoulders all puffed up from the praise, I got polite-headshot mid-return and died. Total curveball.
Extra downside: unconventional paths are harder to predict. And my physicals are capped by this human body—no godlike outplays to turn impossible spots. My real edge is game management.
Anyway, we were still miles ahead.
"Dalgisoda, heading your way soon."
"Y-Yes! Hurry!"
We rolled on our broken top-side balance.
"Just take objective, shove top. Inhib if we can."
"Gotcha~"
Enemy ADC overfarmed mid-game, we lost a teamfight, dragged a bit—but no upsets. Victory at 27 minutes.
Scrim day 1: 3-0.
...
Then feedback time. Seemed like easy wins, but not quite. Game lengths: 27, 31, 39 minutes. In scrims, stomps lead to early FF—but we never snowballed that hard early.
Why? Yeah.
"Dalgisoda."
"Y-Yeah?"
"Don't move solo. Especially as ADC."
"Okaay..."
Every time I stepped away, our ADC Dalgisoda was dead. First game, enemy ADC snowballed because their jungler camped bot nonstop, feeding gold. I set her up perfectly, she overpushes and dies to their bot duo or misses jungler gank. Wards down, warnings given—and she still gets caught fleeing.
"Shut up and just listen to me."
...No balls for that. Wasn't that dire, just frustrating. Gotta fix it, though.
Dalgisoda's mechanics aren't trash—for Bronze, skillshots and kiting are solid. Fatal flaw: once fighting, she tunnel-visions, ignores surroundings.
Hmm, not an easy fix.
If scolding fixed it, no Iron or Bronze tiers. We won despite ops pressure on our weak bot fattening their ADC. In League of Champions, nine times outta ten, the carry lane's ADC.
We scraped by, but regular league? Dicey.
"Anyway, picks first?"
"Ah, sure."
No easy fix. Play safer? ADCs are gank magnets. Farm passively? Own problems.
"Two more scrim days—think during practice."
"Mmkay."
Scrim day 1 over.
